  1. Got the cans, unfortunately we were not able to hook up with Allanon to drop his to him yet - best laid plans always run astray. I'll email him soon - getting through all my emails/etc. has been a chore today... The cans are in Awesome shape! well worth the $3 a piece. Thanks Nick for the cans & the nice visit yesterday!
  2. Thanks for posting the pictures/links. Now I know what to look for. Funny thing is, I was at my friend's house the other day & we were discussing a particular plant in her yard that she didn't recognize. It's a huckleberry bush!! I didn't get to the place yesterday...house fix-it stuff got in the way, but I'm going before the weekend is out. Next July - you all have an open invite to my place to pick all the raspberries you can stand !
  3. It's really hard to get it wrong at Huckleberry Patch Geo Cache. Huckleberries are the only berry there, and if you have blueberries at home, you'll recognize them. Thank you! I'll put that on my "to do" list - always wanted to try them! You've never tried Huckleberries? They're all around your You've Got Mail cache...we feasted on them a few weeks ago when we did that cache. You're serious!!? OK, looks like me & my daughter have to make a berry run this afternoon. I'm not sure what I'm looking for though - maybe I'll check out a berry book at the library on the way.... and at least look at them if I'm not sure the picture's a match.
  4. I put together a bookmark list of Washington Challenge Caches. It's under the topic "Northwest Bookmarks" pinned at the top. I'll try to keep it up to date.

  6. I added another bookmark list today - Washington State Challenge Caches
  7. Congrats Hydnsek!!! I've sliced & diced my finds, but I'm sorely lacking for this challenge. I'm working on it though and probably will be for a long time! Flutey, I was very curious about your note on the cache page about GCV5EV...
  8. I've heard about Huckleberries, but never tried them. Reason being, I'm so afraid I'd be picking and eating something poisionous, so I've just stuck with blackberries - something I recognize no problem. I have blueberry bushes at home, but I'm also afraid to try picking wild blueberries because I'm not so sure I would know what I'm picking. It might be a fun sort of event idea for the uninitiated to have a wild berry event or something like that around a good picking/caching area - or does that sound lame?
  9. Just curious...What's the capacity at the RV/trailer hook-ups area? A little worried with the large turnout expected & husband wants hookups.
  10. I'll spot you the price for 10 cans if Lizzy/Sassy/Harriet can fit 10 more in their run this week. You can give me the money at the camp out. I can also easily take additional cans to Monroe, its only a few more minutes up the road. I think we should be ok picking up the cans for RecDiver, since GeoRoo's on the waiting list now. Just email me when you decide the quantity for RecDiver so I know what I'm to pick up.
  11. Wow Nick...just read recent logs on the campout . I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the fact that you went way out on a limb to win/pay for this auction & I am very grateful for the work you've put into getting all this together for us - all pretty much based on trust! Looking forward to meeting up with you on Friday to get our cans. See ya then!
  12. I'll cram as many as I can in the back too. I'll fold down the seats & fill er up if needed (at least til the tires bottom out). Allanon's cans are going in to one of our cars too & somehow we'll get GeoRoo's in there if Nick gives the o.k. I sure don't mind. It might be kinda fun explaining all the cans to a state patrol if we get pulled over...twisted sense of humor. Brad sometimes doesn't get it - kind of like the time I said it might be fun for him to stand in the Marysville Cemetary with a shovel & his metal detector & clock how long it took the local police to get there....
  13. Yep, just ignore them. Their reputation suffers with every negative (non-constructive) criticism they write - just shooting themselves in the foot as they are taken less & less seriously. Pay more attention to what everyone writes as a whole about your caches in their logs - it will more reflect the actual truth.
  14. Alrighty then...Brad is fine with me running off for the day. I REALLY like the idea of visiting HQ if that works out. Looks like a go & I'll bring cash. I'll email Harriet/Sassy separately to figure out times, etc. Allanon, we'll figure out something for yours if you'd like. Maybe we could call when we get nearby on pick-up day?? Hey Nick - we still need to know if/when you'd be available on Friday the 10th for the pick-up.
  15. Harriet's Quote: "WooHOO!! I wanna go on the road/caching trip with you Lizzy!! Let me know the scoop on when you wanna go and we can figure it out from there! We can pick up Sassy & Gordy's plus Half Canadian's too if they want." ^^^ (Not tech savvy...can you tell?) Anyhow... Friday's are great for me (with husband's work schedule) - so, the 10th would work for a run down to Maple Valley (arggghhh...traffic, oh well). How's your Fridays, Harriet? I wish I could be there on the 6th to help you out, but I'm not so sure you'd want a 4 year old under your feet during the loading!! Hey Allanon, I can grab your 10 & drop 'em at your work on my way back up if you're there on Friday?? Just let me know.
  16. I'm getting the same thing happening. I just shut down my ISP & restarted to see if something was amiss there (not tech savvy, but trying whatever I could think of).

  18. If you're picking up some/all of the cans on August 5 (Sunday), I'd be willing to meet you at the pick-up site to help you load them. And...I can possibly go ahead & pay for/pick up mine & any of the NUTS from the north end that wants theirs picked up (up to the point where my Explorer can't take any more). Just let me know the time, etc. I've got a base sticker too, if that's an issue.
  19. This is my first WSGA campout, and I'm in process of registering. I don't just register and pay for myself, I need to pay for me, husband & child - is that correct? I'm assuming I pay $6 for me (WSGA member), $8 for my husband & $8 for my 4 year old (non-members)....right?
  20. I manage one of the County Challenge caches and it sure would be nice to receive notifications when logs are edited or deleted - just like the notifications when the cache is logged.
  21. Just answered an email about bookmarks & realized I haven't posted two of mine that I'd like to share: Centennial Trail: Snohomish to Sedro Whitehorse Trail: Arlington to Darrington
  22. I remember that dirt road - my Explorer pretty much failed the off-pavement braking test while on an emergency run back down. I don't take that vehicle in the mtns anymore, which put a damper on trips for a few years.
  23. I see Craftea (used to be Stachers) passed her 1000 mark while I wasn't paying attention. I knew she was coming up on it. I also noticed today that Rey Del Roble has reached 4900 - FAST approaching 5000 caches. Wasn't it just a little while ago you made 4000?! At that rate, you should reach 5000 by tomorrow morning! CONGRATULATIONS to both!
  24. Might be a good place to put a cache, if it's not too close to the other one. Call it something like 'And they found blood' - Ooooo, scary.
  25. What date is the auction? I know you said toward the end of July - which lot? Just curiosity - I could weed through & find it, but thought maybe you have the info at your fingertips.
