  1. family-roadtrip.com I love the gingerbread man.
  2. I spent so much money on geocoins this month that now I can't afford wine and cheese, so I guess now I'm a whino Will trade coins for wine. Cork required.
  3. This is our grandson Kyle. No typo, that's our grandSON. Kyle and his best friend both went to their school Halloween dance on Friday dressed as girls. They didn't talk to anyone for awhile so no one would know who they were. We hear they freaked out some of their teachers when they finally spoke.
  4. Anyone know where I can get the activation code for this beautiful coin? The sleeve it came in was empty.
  5. Excellent timing on this, where could I find said page? I sent out a couple of TBs when I was newer to this and they have gone missing. I now have a coin and was looking for the 'mission sheet' to go with it before I release it. I've searched GC.com but can't find a template. Display your TB's page, in the upper right there is a box called Trackable Item Options, in it there is a link called Print Info Sheet.
  6. Unfortunately, only one post per person. If your post is still editable, then you can make sure that it matches the guidelines by the deadline today! I meant a Groundspeak time limit that is keeping me from editing my post and fixing my misspelled word. Not a big deal, I just hate seeing a typo, (if its mine . Never mind, I found this in the Help section: ................................... Editing Posts If you are unable to see the edit button displayed on each post that you have made, then the administrator may have prevented you from editing posts, or the time limit for editing may have expired. .................................... I'm guessing the time limit is 24 hours, so my typo stays.
  7. Is there a time limit for editing posts? It let me edit mine earlier, but now the edit button is gone and I can't fix my typo.
  8. We don't actually own these jeeps, but Mr Flush caches as a part of the four lifelong friends who make up the cachers "DMCJ". Two of these guys own jeeps, one of which caches as JDGoneJeeping, (the brown jeep). These are some cool pictures taken caching. The first two photos are on Mt Baldy near Shaver Lake. We have a cache nearby, (GCPWVP Have You Lost Your Marbles?) I just like this one, JDGoneJeeping's jeep, Mr Flush at the wheel. Since we don't own the jeeps can I enter the cointest on behalf of DMCJ, who own the 2 in the photos? Jeeping has kept these 4 great friends close their entire lives. When gecaching was added to the mix a few years ago it just got better! Here is DMCJ as freshmen in 1968: An here they are on a jeeping/geocaching adventure roughly 40 years later:
  9. Now the chart says that shipping started October 15th, along with Yemon Yime v2 and Tasmania.
  10. Thanks, that's the guideline I was looking for, and I can see where someone might not know the difference between "holding on to the bug" and "logging the bug".
  11. On each of the occasions I mention above, the cache finds were logged immediately. It was only when I emailed them a few days later asking them to log the coin that they responded saying they had 2 weeks to do so. That's what I thought too. That's why I'd like to hear from someone who thinks the 2 weeks is for logging. I would have asked them directly but since the emails were already testy, and they had custody of my coin, best not to really make them mad. Another note. When I received the first email saying they had two weeks to log, I responded explaining how disappointing it is to go to a cache expecting a coin and finding none. I got no response, and they waited 2 weeks to log the coin.
  12. I tried to make it clear but forgot to specifically mention this. None of these people were on vacation. This has nothing to do with people on vacation, or having a ton of logging to do. It is people who specifically want to wait 2 weeks to log the geocoins.
  13. While reading the "vacation geocoins" thread, it triggered a similar question in my mind. Has anyone else noticed a trend amongst cachers who believe you have 2 weeks to log a geocoin? It may stem from Groundspeak’s guidelines that a geocoin should be moved to a new cache within 2 weeks of a grab, or the owner should be notified. When one of my geocoins is dropped in a cache, I put a watch on the cache and review new logs. On occasion, someone will note in their log that they grabbed my coin and not log it. If they still haven’t logged it in a few days I shoot them a friendly email reminding them to log the grab. For the most part, the cacher logs the grab, sometimes with an apology or thank you for the reminder. Yet on three occasions in the last year I have received somewhat snotty responses telling me it has not been two weeks yet and they have two weeks to log the coin. On a fourth occasion, a cache owner marked one of my coins missing from their cache because it had been gone 10 days. The next day a cacher grabbed the coin and posted a scathing log to the cache owner chastising them for marking the coin missing because it had not been two weeks yet. They went on to say that Groundspeak says they have 2 weeks, the coin owner, (me), says they have two weeks, and they were tired of cache owners marking coins missing when they had not been given 2 weeks to log. On all four of these occasions I checked the cacher’s logs to see if they were on marathon caching expeditions, (and thus extra log time could be expected), but this was never the case. Always just a few caches found within a few days. These instances occurred in various parts of the U.S., so I don’t think the cachers know each other, and they USUALLY log the correct date that the coin was grabbed, so I don’t think the purpose is to keep the coin longer. They seem to think they have 2 weeks to log. Is this true? I tried to find Groundspeak’s guidelines for logging a geocoin and could find none. Shouldn’t geocoins be logged at the same time as a cache find, if time permits? I’d be interested to hear from cachers who feel they have two weeks to log and how they feel waiting is a benefit.
  14. Name of coin: Lady Luck remint Name of Vendor: GeocoinDesign Date Ordered: 6/20/2008 Shipment Due Date: N/A Ordered by: 1. C A Royal Flush - Not yet received - no response to email requesting refund
  15. Someone chomping on what looks like a turkey leg, but when you look closer its actually the leg of that guy with a TB tatoo on his leg. How's that for warped? Sorry, tattoo-leg-guy.
  16. OK, I think it is Sunset Park that I'm thinking of. Its a county park. Here's a link. http://www.accessclarkcounty.com/depts/par...ities-info.aspx If you read the 2 Sunset Park links, it looks like they have a large frisbee golf course, fishing, large reservable areas, especially A and F, but no indoor facilities from what I can tell.
  17. Vegas Baby, or Henderson. We found a huge park with a man-made lake a few years ago on a cache run. Will look into finding it and see if it has rent-able areas. Any locals know what I'm referring too? Edit: Possibly Sunset Park?
  18. Don't know what I did right, but I emailed them and got a prompt response. They said they are expecting the coins this coming week and were preparing the packages for a quick mailing when they arrived. Looking forward to receiving this cool coin!
  19. Beautiful Lake Tahoe is one of our favorite travel destinations and GC129A8 is a fun cache. Edited to add: Like BBQ? Womack's!!!
  20. OK, I was waiting on a trade to post another photo. Well, I'm being lazy, its a scan. You can't read the text,so, going clockwise starting at 9:00 o'clock: Our - Whirled Peas Tank Hounds - Rosie Burgers Colenixbone - Beach Blast Go-mad-Cow - Pasture Patty Mooman56 - Cheesy Mooburger
  21. Thanks, email sent. If everyone is having the problem it is probably just taking awhile to get back to everyone.
  22. I traded for a PinseEvent Skagen 2008 geocoin at GW6. It is the coin from this event: GC17X87. I followed the instructions at cachen.dk/code, (entered my email and the coin code), and got the message, Email sent. I never received the email with an activation code, and when I tried it again it says, Sorry code already sent. The page isn't in English so I can't read it to see if there is any contact information. I went to the event page and found an email address for the original seller of the coins. I sent an email a week ago and have not heard back. Does anyone know someone associated with this site, (cachen.dk), or the geocoin that I could ask for assistance? Or does someone know for sure if they are still traveling from GW6? Thanks for the help!
