  1. 23rd sounds better weather will probably be better the closer you get to winter!!
  2. I will not be able to attend on 16th as I have an AGM from 12-3pm and an hours travelling on top. Won't get back until 4pm at the earliest. That's if it finishes on time.
  3. ... but it's not all about the numbers! Surely, the idea behind caching is "caching". Enough of the wind up. Horses for causes I say. There are quite a few "mega caches" around and although they may take anything from a few hours to a few days to complete, the setter has taken alot of time to set and from the ones I know about, certainly gets a reputation of being great. Personally, I prefer either short (2-3 stage) multi's or series of caches leading to the main Bonus cache. Then I get rewarded for my finds. Oooops! It is 'all about the numbers!'
  4. ATEOTD, does it really matter. FTF / STF / or 50th. A cache is a cache is a cache! Enjoy!
  5. Did I mention that i went to canada last year? I've been in Canada for 3 weeks & had to call in at internet cafes each week to update the TB ins/outs Would've been better if I could update via GPRS on the move as they were dropped/picked up Especially with 2 young kids in tow who would relish being let loose in an internet cafe My slant on this was fairly easy actually. I took my laptop with me. I cached for around 2-3 hours most days, in the morning before the rest of the family were up and about. At the end of my stint, on the way back to where we were staying (no internet access), I drove down a couple of residential streets and found one of my WiFi access points. Previously, I found about three useful ones (different routes home) to use, sat outside and logged all my finds; TB's; DNF's; emails etc Why not?
  6. Slightly OT but my bronze Earthcache pin came yesterday!
  7. I think that is the minimum amount of time allowed. Prob looking at end of August. Hope it's not going to be the Bank Holiday weekend.
  8. I'd be a tad disappointed if it didn't go ahead. I'll drop Pid an email.
  9. Not only is it difficult to understand some descriptions for the OP but I'm finding it strange that UTC stands for Coordinated Universal Time and TAI is short for International Atomic Time. Was the person who made these, dyslexic? Why do they make dyslexia so hard to spell?
  10. Forgive me if I am totally wrong but I was under the illusion that ALL caches set for events had to be 'permanent' (min life expectancy - 3 months) caches in order to pass the criteria for publication on GC.COM. Quite correct, however it's not that uncommon for people to put out "unofficial" unpublished caches especially for events. Surely cachers don't go and look for caches at events they will be unable to log as fnds, will they? Oh but of course they will, it's "not all about the numbers", is it?
  11. Same ones I posted above (albeit the TB ones aren't incuded etc).
  12. I have had a 60Cx since last August and contrary to things stated on here, I have found it to be excellent! It may have been due to the fact it came from Canada - did I mention I'd been to Canada?
  13. Forgive me if I am totally wrong but I was under the illusion that ALL caches set for events had to be 'permanent' (min life expectancy - 3 months) caches in order to pass the criteria for publication on GC.COM.
  14. I'd like that, How do you download and categorise the caches? Some kind geocacher wrote a macro that you run in GSAK. The only thing you need to do is upload the files to TT. This is the macro: You need to edit this file before you use it. Change to the directory you want to generate the files to and put in your GC ID#. I think it's the following two lines:
  15. They're all stars :-( Sorted now Ian, thank you. File updated and replaced. Original link will now download correct icon set.
  16. He did state that they were 2 years old. Bit out of date............!
  17. The problem, I have, with your set up is the fact you are not able to identify the type of cache showing on TT without further investigation. With my set up I can see if the cache I am about to pass is a Trad or the strat of a Multi/Mystery/Puzzle etc.
  18. I cannot see the flag you speak of. On the forum or GC.com?
  19. Download from GSAK and you can do as many as you want.
  20. Unfortunately, it's all about the numbers, isn't it.
