  1. Marky, I would have to say that seems like a bit of a stretch to call a game. I guess you are right, there just won't be much to the game. I agree with the previous post that it sounds like more of a travel assistant than a game.
  2. Don't say that too soon, young skywalker. It will be a game. But you are right that it isn't geocaching. I would love an explanation on how Waymarking will be a game. Yes, you can go find a bunch of waymarks, but it really does not seem like much of a game. Wow, I ate at 3 different McDonald's this week, so now my stats go up. Not much effor there. I agree that Waymarking is basically a travel assistant that allows you to keep track of where you have been. Maybe, I am wrong. If so, an explanation would be great.
  3. I agree with Eartha. Abusive e-mails to many cachers is not something that should be done. That being said it does add a value to have a reminder to people that hold jeeps to keep them moving. I wish Groundspeak would implement such a reminder process. Also, I feel it is ok to e-mail local cachers if you feel they are in violation of the rules. If someone seems to be holding a Jeep for a long time, a friendly reminder e-mail can't hurt. This should be done with your own username, not a fake username.
  4. All, The BMGPX file and the link to the datasheets by state and area were very helpful. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks all!
  5. I think this "feature" would be hard to implement and really is not needed. FTF's are really overrated. The cachers that get FTF's around here seem to have an edge, or inside tips when caches are going to be put out. I have even seen some sign the log as FTF, before the cache is posted to GC.com. For these reasons and the integrity of the game, I'd have to say this is a bad idea for a "feature". Plus I am sure I read at least once that GC.com is against such a feature.
  6. I currently have 1 TB on the move, and another that is waiting to be set free. Currently I also have 1 TB from someone else that I am waiting to find a good place for.
  7. Man this thread is really starting to repeat itself and others that were started. I am finally tired enough of this subject to give up. Rude people will always be rude, I guess we will never change that.
  8. I am getting into finding benchmarks. However, I was wondering what everyone else did for paperless benchmarking. I download .gpx files and convert them to Cachemate files for geocaching. However, for benchmarking it seems we can only get the .loc files. These do not seem to have the discriptions of where the benchmark is located. Is there a way to get the descriptions in a downloaded .gpx file? Or does the .loc have this information and I am just missing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Listing Geocachers

It would be nice to have this functionality for those who wish to use it. Finding others in there area is not easy at the moment the only options are watching logs and going to events.
  10. I use a Palm m105, with cachemate. Works well for me.
  11. My wife usually does not like to cache. She likes the caches where we can walk up to them in a parking lot, or locationless that we can take a picture of from the car. I usually end up caching with another cacher who has the same type of wife. In my case, I get to pay her back for caching time, by taking her shopping. It all works out in the end.

    Screen Name Swap

Looks like you are out of luck. Read this Thread regarding the same type of issue. Best bet is to get ahold of the old user. If not, seems like you are out of luck.
  13. This might not be totally on topic, but when it comes time to renew does geocaching.com send out a notification e-mail??? Thanks.
  14. I would think any railroad tunnel would qualify. However I was thinking more of the old style stone ones that are a little longer than 20'.
  15. It is cool to explore old railroad tunnels and some new ones. There are a couple old decommissioned railroad tunnels near where I live. Some rails to trails take you through these places. Just seemed like this would be a good catagory.
  16. A bag of drug money would make a very good FTF prize!
  17. Isn't it sad that we need laws like this? We are supposed to be free; however, every day low-lifes make us lose more freedoms. I understand why we have the law, but man it seems unfair.
  18. I agree with thrak, guys can and do pee outside. Deal with it. If someone is that inconsiderate, or unaware that they pee on the cache, that sucks. However, there are probably many more animals that pee on caches than humans. Animals mark their territory on things that seem foreign to them. I assume many animals have marked many more caches than you can imagine. Just me $0.20.
  19. Speedy38, Looks like Hope is moving now.
  20. AtlantaGal, You are right, selfish people don't care about the game for others. When people say they play the game how they want and we should too, that really gets to me. If it's truly a game, you play by a standard set of rules. When people start making up their own rules and changing the game, it really ends up killing the original game. It's amazing how people can care so much about this game that they even post on the message boards, but then they don't play by the rules. Amazing!
  21. Speedy38, You state that you are a finder and not a theif. This is partially true. You only became a theif when you decided to keep the Jeeps for yourself. Up until that point you were only a finder. It is considered stealing when you take someone else's (Jeep's) without their permission. Now if you had their permission to keep the WJTB's, that's fine. If not, the word stole and theif apply.
