  1. Hi, I will be visiting Kansas City (staying in Missouri near the 'Station' area (East Pershing Road). I am planning to do some caches in Kansas but only have a limited amount of time. I was planning to take a taxi to Kansas side of city and do a couple of caches (have maximum of 2-3 hours to get there and back to hotel). Are there any recommendations for caches (traditional or virtual) that would be close to starting location and could be done in limited time? Would appreciate any help. Thanks
  2. Dale, Many thanks for this version (got a lot of use from last version) - download just completed and will try to seed for rest of week. John
  3. Currently stuck at 81.6% - doesn't seem to be any seeds
  4. Thanks for the advice on walking around. The day I have for cacheing is Sunday 17th August. If any locals want to meet that would be great. Not sure how much e-mail access I will have in next few days - heading to Nairobi tonight for a conference week before JHB. (I lived in Craighall Park area of Johannesburg in early 1980's for a few years, so familiar with the area (I think!!)).
  5. Hi, I will be visiting JHB in a couple of weeks for a conference - staying at Monte Casino Fourways. I have 1 day available for geocaching and was hoping to get advice on some caches to locate. Closest to home base is GC1CWNN (Seven 11). I will be on foot (normally walk up to 6-8km away from hotel base). Any advice appreciated. Thanks
  6. Visted there last month - there are quite a number of caches in downtown area. The ones I would definitely recommend are: Speakers Corner (GC1262X) and First Post - Regina (GC6C1A). The latter is a virtual in the First Post series.
  7. I found out this very sad news from GordEtob yesterday. Tony was the first geocacher that I met (sneaked up on me while I was trying to find my third cache). Our paths have crossed a couple of times since and I always enjoyed the conversations we had. My thoughts and condolences are with the Dawe family.
