  1. Nope that didnt work Alex. Lets try: Tsunami and Help That should do it
  2. I recon there are certain words you need to include. lets try: Charity
  3. Topics seem to be beiing locked all over the place. Ho Hum
  4. I have to agree with Davestar hear. I think it comes down to different people getting different things from caching. Some (like us) like the way it introduces you to new and interesting places whilst others preffer the hunt part of the game. Thats the joy of it you can play whichever way you choose. We always log our DNFs and have never regretted it, in many cases it has lead to the cache placer confirming the cache has gone missing and in another we were able to inform the owner that the clues in a multi cache just didn't work properly and noone else had bothered to let them know. Chris
  5. Well I'm only here as I am sitting around at work waiting for them to tell me I can go home. ... Merry Christmas to everyone. Chris
  6. Actually i recon it would make it a lot more interesting. but then I would wouldnt I. Chris
  7. Klaus - heres a direct question for you. What exactly does it matter if people are looging caches they have never been too? Where is the bad? Chris
  8. Just another thought: Personally I (Chris) am a committed cheat, I will and have cheated at almost every game/activity that I have ever taken part in. Thats the way I am - if there is an easier way to get to the goal I will take it, its the winning thats important not the taking part. But I don't cheat at caching (anyone who sees the number of DNFs we log would know that), why? Because I can see absolutly no point, I wouldn't have had a nice day out I would be just sitting in front of a computer all day and I can get paid to do that. So in this case a cheat is only really hurting themselves arn't they? Chris
  9. I never signed up for that! We placed our caches to introduce people to interesting places that we knew. If they would rather claim a find by not visiting then its their loss. Chris
  10. Same here, I've deleted where people are obviously extracting the urine but other than that I have real trouble seeing what difference it makes in the big scheme of things, or what they hope to gain from it. Happy Christmas Everyone. Chris
  11. Is it quite an old cache? I think I once saw a similar description on a cache in Hornet land. At the time there was a discussion on the forum about this and people noticed that switching north did make a difference to the position but in reality it was no more inaccurate than any GPS position. Chris
  12. In short, yes it was the right thing to do. One of the big shames about all the ranglings was that very few people (1 or 2 as I remember it) thought it was a bad idea, most arguments seemed to be about the way things were done and tiny missunderstandings got blown out of all proportion. Such is the power of the internet for quickly creating a really good row out of really very little! Both GAGB and the UK mods(past & present) have done a fantastic job for us in working with landowners to achieve some relly good access agrements. Chris
  13. We have a cache on Essex Wildlife Trust land and the warden thought it was a great idea when I spoke to him. Chris
  14. Yup the November issue - he mentions doing this cache so you could probebly work out his user id if you wanted to. Chris
  15. Everyone probebly already knows this but: in the back of this months Country Walking is a nice article by Radio2 DJ Stuart Maconie all about caching - aparently hes a bit of an adict now. Just thought you should know. Chris
  16. Nothing wrong in that - we have a travel bug who rarely leaves our side (unless there are rabbits about). CnM
  17. I can't think of a more fitting tribute. Chris
  18. Aparently in the lost property office of the police station. they clear out every 2 months but the officer thought the cache "looked to important and thought out" to just be thrown away so she got in touch via the guys in Groundspeak. Another good reason to use ammo boxes with an official sticker on them. Chris
  19. Hi Edward, Glad to see you made it over here from Epz Welcome to the wonderfull world of tupperware. Cheers Chris (Lobsterboy)
  20. Children in need seems appropriate to me. Chris
  21. Jessex placed a cache in exactly the same place after Marks one went missing. Chris
  22. Of course if someone wants to setup something similar in the UK the equivellent to cafepress is shopdonkey and very good it is too. Chris
