What good is a cache where you cant take your dog? Apart from caches placed in Restaurants & shops I cant actually think of many places where you cant take a dog on a lead. I added the dog symble to any of our cache where it would be a nice walk with the dog so the central london ones dont have any.. Chris

EasyMPS will generate a GC.com Loc file which is pretty much the same thing as GPX. You should then be able to read that file into most things but if you rreally need GPX try opening it in GSAK and outputting as GPX. Chris

OK heres a confesion: I have done a fair amount of walking in the UK and am always carefull to take the relevant kit, including map and compass. But it all went wrong the first time we tried to use a GPS in anger (we hadnt even heard of caching then). We were in the the Lot valley in France, it was hot dadgum hot so being english we went out for a walk. We had a guide book and it was all going swimmingly as we trecked up the hill. We reached a forest and this was were the problems happened, the instruction in the guide was "take the second path on the right". None of the paths had marker posts and how wide a path were we looking for did a narrow track count? or was it more of a fire road we were looking for? What about that new track that looks like it has just been bulldozed through the forest - does that count? Needless to say we were now lost. At this point Maria said "why don't you try your GPS" - so we switched on, waited ages for a lock and then discovered ....our exact coordinates. So if we ever needed to get really lost we new exactly where to come Eventually with dead reconing and using the mapping feature of the GPS we managed to find our way back on to route. So sometimes it can be quite easy to get lost. Chris

Hmmm, Well its lashing down, you have walked a couple of miles to gain all 6 parts of a multi cache, you've searched for an hour in every possible place, you decrypt the clue and it says "see photo". Thats when you need spoiler photos! For us the pleasure in caching is discovering new and interesting locations - looking ubnder every rock on a mountain side has never struck us as an interesting way to spend an afternoon! Chris

Having played around with the excellent SpoilerSync software that downloads spoiler photos to pocket devices. I have to say it does an excellent job - well done keith. For those of you using Plucker and GSAK I have created a guide which Keith has kindly loaded onto the FAQ section of the SpoilerSync website. This means you can setup the downloads to run completly automatically from a GSAK macro. Hope it is of use. Chris

Friends, I heartfully request that we all move on and forget the entrenched positions people have found themselves in over the last few days. Lets put the debarcle behind us, the UK mods have made it clear to TPTB the strength of feeling in this forum so lets put down our keyboards and pick up our GPSs and get on with what this game is all about. For every time you feel like flaming and arguing on here why not give a pound to the tsunami relife instead. THAT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE - THATS WHAT REALLY MATTERS. I have been here long enough to see a lot of big fights between people who should really be friends, everyone has saddened me. Yet still the UK GC community has moved from strength to strength. Having just had my ban lifted (thanks lacto) I have more reason to be agreved then most but I feel now is not the time to sweet the small stuff but to concentrate on the important things. A few mistakes by a mod sre not the end of the world and it is only a hunt for a lunchbox. Chill people - its only a game. GSAK sends csv files to MM - but you need to download the latest version of MM from the MM site and it should work OK. cheers Chris
