  1. We're aware of the compass zeroes issue and have put in a fix that should go out with the next release. As for the GPS refresh rate: The app request updates from the system at a rate of every 5 seconds, or 15 meters of displacement. Looking at your video, it seems to be behaving as intended. However, if it's refreshing so slowly that you can walk several hundred feet between updates, that would indicate a problem, and we'd love to hear more. Clearly 5 seconds is tooooooo long. This is a huge issue and usability problem. Every other GPS enabled app seems to be able to do a continuous update and not this INTENTIONAL????????? 5 second delay. That is way way way to long .... or 15 meters of displacement???? Really????? On an app where we are looking for things within FEET????? 15 Meters and 5 seconds is absolutely HUGE!!!!! Please fix this. Five seconds is fine for navigation to the area, but once in the area (300 feet or so) it (that application) could switch to two seconds for reporting position. Most of the devices can report every second, so two should be acceptable, unless there is a reason for not using those as a frequency? I understand the offset accuracy but 5 seconds traveling in a car when you are at 300 feet and then next update you are at 300 feet past the cache is not good. This app didn't used to have this issue. This is a recent development. 15 meters displacement again is just bad. We are trying to locate items within much smaller areas then 15 meters which by the way is 49.2 Feet -- if you are in the woods, it takes a while to move 49.2 feet. Not good. I happen to like this app and use it as my primary -- however, these are the things that other cachers are constantly complaining about and why they don't want to switch from the Classic app -- which doesn't appear to have this issue, nor does c:geo, nor does Cachly. Again - 5 seconds and 15 meters are arbitrary numbers which are detrimental to the usability of the app on the whole. Add to this the recent bug of starting off at 1.2 Miles really makes it bad. I've gotten out of the car with 3 other cachers (running the other apps) -- and I have to stand around for 30-60 seconds before I can even figure out where to go - meanwhile the others have located the cache.
  2. I use the swipe down and up and down and up and it will flip flop back and forth as to what I'm getting shown -- newer bookmarks or I can be missing a whole slew. The sorting is still a huge issue.
  3. I'm really liking having my bookmarks available and being able to map them. However, there are 2 major issues with the bookmark lists: 1) They show up in descending order of last time accessed. Not a useful sort order in general. Either sort them alphabetically or give me an option of how to sort the lists. 2) New lists do not reliably show up on the bookmark lists. You have to scroll down and hope to make the new one appear on the top of the list. Really annoying.
  4. Yes, one should "get to see" the solved coordinates. I'm saying that I can look at a cache. See the "solved" notification. Navigate (Start) and it will send me to the solved coordinates. That is only WHEN I can see the Solved notation. However, I can see the solved, start navigation to the solved coordinates. Stop navigating to that cache to look at something else and when I go back to that cache is no longer has the SOLVED notation, nor does it have the coordinates saved anymore. And since we can't access personal notes from the New App -- the ones that I carefully put into the website "Personal Notes" field -- I now no longer have access to the solved coordinates without going into the OLD app or bringing up a browser on my phone to get to my Personal Notes field. So 2 issues: 1) The Solved coordinates seem to randomly come and go -- and especially so in Lists. 2) There is no access to the Personal Notes in the new app. Are we supposed to be labeling these things as [bUG] ourselves?

  6. Thanks - weird thing is -- it doesn't happen with the old app - hence not a function of the server code - nor does it happen with c:geo or cachly. As far as I can tell only the new App. And yes, I've had to go edit my logs on the website more than once.
  7. have you tried clearing the cache for that application? if there are other applications requesting GPS info it can make one (or all) of them lag in reporting position. The only app that has issues with GPS displaying is the new Geocaching app.
  8. If I log a cache find after 5 PM PST - my logs will show up as being logged and attributed to the next day. It appears as if my logs are from the new app are being written in GMT not PST. All settings in the phone, my account etc all point to PST. Every other app is happy. Many times, I see that other people have logged a cache that I'm at -- and it shows up as 7 hours ago. Something is not right in the state of Denmark.
  9. I have bookmark lists of solved puzzles with corrected coordinates. It is really really really hit or miss as to whether those corrected coordinates will show up in a bookmark list on the phone app. (Android - latest version of app installed). Since the new app doesn't give you access to your personal notes, I have to keep the Classic App open to get my corrected coordinates and reapply them to my list of caches. I've double checked before I leave the house that the bookmark list is there and that the corrected / solved coordinates are entered for the caches I am going to. By the time I get to the location most if not all the corrected coorindates will be gone from the list. AARRGGHHH! Just saying that without the classic app, I would be pretty much screwed for the corrected coordinates. Please fix.
  10. The refresh rate has degraded in recent updates dramatically. I've been using the "new" app pretty much for a year. The GPS refresh has gotten really annoying now in that you can be up to 500 ft past the cache before the update happens. This does not happen using any other GPS tracking app on the same phone and I'm sure that it wasn't this bad at tracking 6 months ago. The Compass sitting at zero's and 1.2 miles is recent and showed up in recent updates.
  11. Thanks -- I'm doing that and I can run the PQ -- but what I'd really like is a map that shows me *all* my solved coordinates rather than the original ones. How do I do that easily in any of the apps?
  12. On the cache page of a "?" cache, there is a pencil icon beside the coordinates. Click that, and you can enter "corrected coordinates". B. Thanks! Works like a charm.
  13. I've managed to solve a number of Mystery caches, have the coordinates sorted out and checked so what is the best way to enter and track these new coordinates through the web interface? Through the free App, I know I can enter in the solved coordinates and then when I end up in an area I can see the cache as solved on my map -- but I've yet to figure out how to do this through the web. ? All help / hints truly appreciated.
