  1. I am not positive on this one, and I am sure a regular can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe if you make contact with Groundspeak at contact@geocaching.com they can help you and remove the souvenir if need be. I think I read this a while back in a different forum post. and just for giggles here is where I read it: Souvenir forum link The Holmstead
  2. That one is in Idaho, looking forward to getting that one accomplished sometime in the near future! One of the many GC codes is GC35YF3 The Holmestead
  3. I have the Oregon 550 and love it. It is paperless and I have never had any issues with it. I use the camera part and it actually takes fairly decent photos. Just like any unit it took me a while to figure it out, but I don't admit to being the most tech savy person out there! My wife has no problem using it either and she is usually the one directing when we are on our searches! The Holmestead
  4. Glad to see you are still out and going strong even after having a set back last year. Have fun on your trip East. As for the topic: B: 40 S: 37 A: 13 R: 11 The Holmestead
  5. I have to say I had never even heard of bookcrossing until reading this thread. Went at looked at the link listed and found it very interesting. Might have to start doing this with some of the books my wife has collected over the years. Great way to get them out of the house and for others to enjoy them! Thanks for the information, and I see no problem at all for dropping off books like this in caches.
  6. I am going to have to agree with you on this one. Being prior military I can say I have seen a bunch of different style explosive systems. And I have also seen items while out caching that look remarkably like explosives, but I figure I am not worried about it since I seriously doubt somebody would place a bomb through a caching website. The whole idea is either to make a statement or mass injury which I don't really think making a "cachebomb" (kind of like the sound of that) would do. This is just my own opinion, but I myself would not be worried while caching! Now if I was in Iraq then maybe I would be worried! The Holmestead
  7. My belief is that you should never post a picture of the actual cache. Could possibly ruin the hunt for other cachers that have yet to find it. I have found some out there that if I had seen a picture of it first, would not have made the hunt very fun! On that note, I have found a few caches that actually said to take a picture with it and post. So unless it is stated in the info, I would refrain from taking a picture of the actual cache. Now if you are doing this for your own personal records, then why not. Just don't post online with your "found" remarks. Just my two cents on the idea! The Holmestead
