  1. I honestly don’t see the reasoning behind getting ad labs removed because maybe they stretch the rules. If GS takes down one, then all should be taken down. Same goes with rest stop ad labs. I personally have had one removed along with 19 other COs. The labs were not bothering anyone and in fact, they very much appreciated. Unfortunately someone complained and they were archived. Many rest stop ad lab art exist all over still but for us, one person got ours and ours alone removed. You don’t have to find every cache. Let folks play as they want.
  2. What irks me the most you ask... how do new cachers know about 'TFTC'? Is that something the app offers newbies to post as a blanket log? I admit, I've used it before but when I started caching in 2005, we wrote stories in log books about our adventures as well as when we logged online... Some caches definitely warrant more than TFTC...and likewise some don't but you still had to have some kind of adventure in finding the cache or at least getting there...
  3. Did anybody comment on the missing benchmark search?
  4. Is there anyway to delete old messages from clogging up my messages?
  5. Does anyone know of an iPhone app for locating/determining what kind, etc. benchmarks are in the area? I know of one called Huntmarkers but cannot find it and I think it may have changed names. Thank you for any help.
  6. Brings to mind the saying...if it ain't broken, don't fix it. But They fixed it and now it's broken....
  7. Not sure what is going on but my PC at home which runs on Vista will not decrypt the hint when I click on 'decrypt'. Also the map on the cache page does not load as well as the logs. I have to click on the logs to get them to load. I thought it was something with my PC but have now heard that others are having the same problems. My PC at work does not do this, nor does my iPad and laptop. They use different OS...could that be the problem?
  8. I believe they are most interested in our night event... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...44-1ca3f7fbe299 GC200NA
  9. Rumor has it that the Cache Reaper and friends will be at CacheaPalooza 4 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...44-1ca3f7fbe299 GC1VNMW We were visited by the Reaper last year as well...must be the wickedness of the park as well as the overabundance of caches..+250 this year!!!!
  10. The Reaper is in South Florida ...He has logged a cache in Palm Beach Gardens..Konichiwa GC1J4YF Will he be at cacheaPalooza 3????
  11. Rumor has it that the Cache Reaper will be at CacheaPalooza 3 (GC1D040)...with over 200 caches, which one will be the next "victim"?
  12. Thanks for the comments and insight...and I do agree about the lame hides problem...I would have to agree with that one. If the hides were differerent and placed by different cachers, that would be better.
  13. If a cacher follows the 528 ft (plus) guideline in setting caches along a trail in order to cut down driving a car when gas is 3.50 plus a gallon, why is this frowned upon and considered a power run? How many people would rather drive to one spot (parking coords) and walk or bike a few miles to get 5-10 (plus or minus) caches rather than drive ???miles to get the same when the cost of gas continues to rise? Any comments?
  14. We have sig items. For me, it is a runner charm and my daughter, Froggy girl, leaves tiny plastic frogs. We sometimes out them in our caches for FTF prizes. I also will take them and leave them in faraway caches. Some cachers have started to collect them and that is fine. That is why we left them in the first place. I like to grab some sig items if i see something unique.
  15. Simply speaking, it just seems that some geocachers out there just can't log a DNF. So what if you can't find it? It is not like you are going to be tarred and feathered or burnt at the stake..
  16. Our reviewer usually posts new caches between 630 and 7 in the morning, lunchtime and then about 7 at night during the week. On the weekends, they are posted in the morning and then at night. She caches, too! I usually check my unfound list around these times and then periodically during the day. I do not wait on the "new posting" email as there are always finders on the new caches by the time I receive it.

    Double Dipping

Lately I have come across cachers who either don't know about the "write note" feature or are just plain trying to get their numbers up in a less than rightful manner. I realize as a cache owner, I can delete such logs but there is nothing one can do if the cacher does it on his or her own cache pages. I was wondering if at some point a feature could be in place on the site where such "double dipping" could be avoided. I also realize we all make mistakes and press the wrong buttons but this is just a game of fun.
  18. I also carry extra paper in case I encounter a wet or full log!
  19. Add us to the list of non gc mail receivers! I spoke to AOL this am and he gave me some suggestions..none of which worked.
