  1. I have up for sale a Magellan eXplorist 610. It is about six months old, and looks like new. I have used it a few times for geocaching, but I have another one, and I don't really need two. I t comes pre-loaded with the Summit Series topo maps, and you can purchase the City Series for turn-by-turn navigation also. This is a full featured, rugged gps, and has loads of dedicated geocaching features. Asking $275 OBO. Shipping will be by USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation, unless you desire another carrier. Here is a link to the full description:

    Thanks,

  2. We have a brand new, sealed Explorist 710 that we would like to sell.

We won this as a FTF prize, which was/is still amazing in itself and we are extremely grateful. Yet my better half can't really seem to use touchscreens very well (heat? electrostatic charge? magic?) and we'd like to sell this one to get a Gpsmap 62s instead. And since the 62s can be found for much less than the 710, that's how we're going to set this up.

    Sealed Explorist 710

    IPX-7 Waterproof

3.2 megapixel camera, microphone, and speaker

    3-axis compass and barometer

    3in touchscreen

    Maps (comes with all)

    -World base map with roads

-City Series USA (City Navigator equivalent)

-Summit Series USA (24k US Topo maps)

    Asking: $375

Pretty much all needed maps are included. I'm not sure why Garmin doesn't have a better business platform like that.

We would like to make sure that a geocacher gets this so we haven't posted anything on craigslist, ebay, etc.

Unless local to us (Western KY, Southern IL, or St. Louis area), Paypal is preferred.

Alternatively, if you have a sealed 62s, we will gladly just trade.

I have been looking for an eXplorist 710 for a good price for a long time. I would like to buy this unit! You can message me here, or redleg7@comcast.net. Thanks!

  3. I am selling a barely used 60 CSX with case, cable and backup of TOPO USA 2008.

This is in excellent condition as i bought it as a backup to a boat unit and so has been barely used.

$180 shipped within the US. Will even throw in charger and rechargeable AA batteries.

    jonsouthern1 @ hotmail.com for more info.

Sent you an email at the above address, have not heard from you.I am interested. Joe

  4. This Magellan eXplorist 610 is in like new condition with no marks or scratches on the body or screen. Works perfect. Comes with everything that came with it when new, including the box. Bought a Oregon 450 at the same time as the 610 to compare units and will keep the 450 for now. Asking $325.00 + $10.00 shipping to the lower 48. Will take PayPal or Postal Money Order.

I let it go for $320.00 shipped to the lower 48 states. Last chance before it goes on eBay.

    How about $300?

$310 is as low as I can go.

Does the unit still have a warranty? Amazon is offering the same model for 349.99 brand new right now.

  6. Very very very accurate GPS, easy to use, absolutely fantastic for GeoCaching

No original box but unit is in beautiful condition (only 2 months old) - never ever dropped. I have everything that came with it - USB, TOPO 9.0 disks, SPOT (never used and just replaced with a brand new device due to recall), lanyards

    $320

    Hello,

    Is this still available?

  7. Hello Everyone,

I have a Delorme PN-40, that has not been registered with the company. It has been used twice for geocaching, and that's it. It comes with the box, topo maps of the whole U.S., and TOPO 8 on DVD. It has the manual, the lanyard,USB cable, 2gb SD card, and everything that came in the box. It is a very accurate gps, and geocaching ready. You can directly load single caches from gc.com, or load pocket queries with Delorme's cache register software. With the detail maps loaded, you can do turn-by-turn routing to cache locations.

Now that I am 50+ I need a little bit bigger screen. :) I'm looking for $150, plus shipping.

If you live in or near Baltimore, we can do a local pickup.

  8. I have a Mountainsmith Lumbar Pack, with the shoulder straps, that is perfect for geocaching. I no longer use it. It is in excellent condition (I can send pictures upon request), and would like to sell it, as I use a different pack now. I am willing to let this go for $50, plus shipping, to anyone in the lower 48. I dont know the size of this, but it holds 2 nalgene bottles, plus 2 large storage areas. Again, I can furnish pics, if interested. Please PM me if you are interested. Thanks in advance!

Do you know which model it is?

  9. Hello,

I am looking for the best caching app for Android phones. I have a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. I have looked into the official app from GC.com, but I have only seen negative reviews about it. Does anyone have an opinion on it, or any other apps? There are dozens of them in Android market, I just would like to know which ones are better before I spend money on one.

    Thanks for any input.

  10. Go to maps4me.net You pay something like a $13.00 annual fee, and you can download all the maps you like. Sockeye from the tritonforum has placed topo maps of all 50 states on the site. I They also have street details. I download the maps I want to my computer, then transfer them to the sd card I use in my Triton. Then I just choose the detail map I want from the menu, and voila! There it is! You can also get Accuterra maps from Magellan's website, but I do not think these are as up to date as Sockeye's maps. Also, they are a bit pricey.

National Geographic also has maps available that are supposed to work with the Triton series as well. I have no experience with those, though.

There are a number of free mapmaking programs you can use to make your own. Gmapmaker is one, and TritonRMP is one that converts maps to raster type maps that are usable on the Triton. If you don't want to invest the time to learn the programs, or spend money, I would go with the maps4me.net option. I currently have these maps on my Triton 2000, and I am quite satisfied. At $13.00 a year, it's hard to go wrong!

Good luck! Email me at redleg7@comcast.net if I can be of further assistance.

  11. Love to buy it if it's still available.

I bought a Delorme PN-40 in July because I was starting to get really interested in geocaching. Unfortunately, my work schedule got busier, and bills began to take over. Student loan payments are kicking my butt, so this is just the first of many things I have to sell. So there's nothing wrong with it...I opened it and added some local maps and caches to it, but it never left my desk after that, and I never even got around to taking the plastic cover off the screen. The poor thing has never even tasted fresh air. I know there are people out there who deserve it and will give it tons more use than I can right now. Hopefully I'll be able to get back into it in the not-so-distant future.

Amazon has them going for around $230 most of the time, so I thought 40 bucks off at $190 seemed pretty fair since mine has never been used. I also have 4 unused rechargeable energizer batteries and a charger that I bought with it (total cost was ~$30), and I'll throw them in (along with the original included regular Energizers that came with it) for $205.

Nothing is missing from the box. I can leave the stored downloaded maps (Bloomington, IN) for you or completely reset to factory settings if you prefer (If I can figure out how...like I said, I never got to use it).

P.S. If you're within an hour drive of Bloomington, I'd be happy to meet you somewhere rather than ship it.
