  1. I bought 20 TXGeocoins the same day the web site was out. They are great! I am keeping my lowest number, gave 5 to my wife (she's from TX) and 3 to my dad (Geo Dee, in Dallas). Caching the rest. They may do with those as they wish. I am trying to leave 2 coins in the major area's I love to/have cached in. I agree with the statement they are not a travel bug. If anyone finds a coin that I placed, you can keep it, cache it, sell it, melt it or leave it. I left it behind, i must have not wanted it anymore
  2. Still looks like we will be there. What side dishes are others bringing? I guess I could bring some Army MRE's for side dishes . Wife wants to know about side dishes, Also not being from that area and not knowing that park. Do we need to bring our own charcole? Is there even a grill there? Foil? Cooking fork? I just want to cover all the basics.

  4. I have 98 H-D Sporty. The first year I got it(Last year), I rode 9,000+ miles. This year I may have put 1000 miles on 'er. I usally hunt caches with my kids (3 of them). We all just don't fit on the bike. I have cached a few times while on my bike. I mounted my GPSr in the middle of the handle bars with velcro and a small bungie cord. Problem is my Garmin Etrex Vista cuts off due to the vibration. It becomes a pain in the rump! So I use my car or van...and believe me the A/C feels great in a cage.

These things are a hot item! Awesome Idea, i will be placeing 2 in differant areas I cache in. (hey thats all over the US)

  8. I have been to both sites in the past/present and I will go again in the future. I like Dans site (not trying to start anything, truely I am not...I am only posting an opionion) due to the fact that I feel a placement is a find. You placed it, you found it. Now don't get me wrong I will send BIG "kudo's" to Gustaf for the work he has done. You got more free time than I do, I spend my time Geocaching Cache in - Trash OUT!

  10. As of right now I can say that we will be able to make it, afterall. I am not sure if I am up for the drive (ya' right, like I mind driving for caches). As long as my work don't call me, count us in. Sounds like a well planned event. Thanx for the invite.

  12. I am not sure at this time if we can make it. I know that the Middle TN Geocachers are planning a meeting that same day.
  13. I have 4 kids and allot of times It's me and all of them (7-12). We leave what they like. We have a pretty good rucksack (backpack) with some differant items in it. We allways leave more stuff than we take, and alot of times we take nothing, but leave something. Being in the US Army I like to always leave a big Army Dude.
  14. ...when you goto Walmart you look at the reduced racks and say "That would be great in a Geocache." ...you leave for the zoo before sun-up with your kids and show up at a Zoo 2 hours before closing with more mud on you than the Zoo Keepers. (true Story) [This message was edited by Feros Family on April 24, 2002 at 07:19 PM.]

  16. My first 150 caches or so I always left Play-doh and what ever else. Now I have found some very cool BIG Army men. I need to buy a few bags of the little ones too for the smaller caches. Sence I am in the US Army, and my family are "Army Brats" It fits us more than Play-doh. [This message was edited by Feros Family on April 24, 2002 at 06:32 PM.]

  18. I like the idea about having the cache evolve over time. That way each person that visits the cache can leave something to improve the cache or just log in and log a find.
  19. 1st cache December 31, 2001 (Where the Swans Play) My dad showed us this game/sport Geo Dee (it is his fault I am addicted) 69 days 100th March 9, 2002 (Jackson Microcache #1) 97 days 200th April 5, 2002 (TANKS FOR THE MEMORIES)
  20. I feel that user tomtomorrow made it seem much worse than they is, (now archived) was. I truely feel that maybe he just ain't cut out to be a geocacher. Out of the people that went to this cache, these was the first 2 he ever went to and he complained. Maybe a vote to the users that went to the cache site(s) and saw first hand how/where it was done should be in order here? I feel Jeremy reacted with out knowing, seeing and finding out all the facts! I protest these being archived due soley on tomtomorrow's opinion. Like I said in a reply. I have seen plenty of screws, nails and ropes in and on trees. NO ONE has said anythang about that. There is no differance! TO The GeoGadgets Team: Have you been there? Have you seen the way these were done? You are basing your "bashing" of me on one mans opinion with out going there to see for your self. See there you go again... did/was I bashing you? I don't think so. If you was to go to the caches in question you would see and understand. really Geocacher's go, find these caches look for yourself. You would not be protesting these caches.

  22. I have been to plenty of caches that someone has drilled screws, hammered a nail or wrapped a rope around the tree and no-one has said squat about that. I was at both of them caches in "question" yesterday. I thought he did a mighty fine job! Dang tree huggers!!! Worm Hole took me a bit do to the fact I am not a tree hugger!!! Geez what's next? We can't leave tupperware containers due to the fact we are polluting? Gimmi' a @*&$@#!^% brake!
  23. My 2 sons and I have found 18 out of 19 in one day, it was in Nashville, TN on 2 MAR 2002
