Feros Family

This is short and to the point: US Army (enlisted) Feb 1991 to present Active duty current duty station (S. Korea) <that's why I ain't been caching much> my wife and kids have done a few while I have been gone, but not on a scale that I would be doing.

On 6 April 2003 Geo Dee 58 finds and around 6 no finds in the Northern Nashville area. I was driving, Jogps was navagating, and Geo Dee was finding. Weather had a big part in the number of finds, it was a cold rain with scattered down-pours. For 3 geocachers to get out and have a great time just hanging out all day and dashing around, it was a day to remember allways.

As far as I have ever known Geo Dee from TX has the most finds in any given day. 6 April 03 58 finds about 6 no-finds. I was driving, Jogps was navagating, Geo Dee was trying to find caches. Great Job Geo Dee [This message was edited by Feros Family on April 06, 2003 at 08:28 PM.]

They may have something your looking for at 1/2 the price. As for which is best? Well that is up to you...i like color and being able to put more toys on this toy.

a Game would be for fun...a sport would be to WIN! I call it a Game/sport. It's fun..and I like to win the "prize" a cache find. We have been all over the state of TN, 50% of KY, Northern Alabama and a few other states in which we found a real (box type) cache. We have fun as a family, lets us see sights we would never have seen, before we started caching. Just yesterday I drove across an old rustic hand made by stones dadgum, (I was in awwwh) in Northern middle TN, on my way to cache. I also like the sport...soon we will be #1 in KY (trip planning), We were (at one time) #1 in TN, Alabama may take a bit, but it is not out of reach. Now before I leave for S. Korea, We will regain some ground...than pause for a year, than LOOK OUT GA, HERE WE COME! WEBLING- just a side note - My dad (Geo Dee) was so happy when he showed up as #1 in TX, for that short time, he even emailed me. That old man don't like to use email!

We have cached our way up to NY from TN and back. Hitting caches in KY, OH and PA..plus NY. It is a wonderful way to travel, and helps with Driving lag.

Great to have it back..I see we need to work a bit harder on 3 states be back later...

When I ride my bike any speed over 45 (or so) the vibration is so bad that my Garmin Vista turns off. Any speeds under 45 (or so) it works just fine. I guess it wasn't made to be mounted on the middle of the Handlebars of a Harley. I am sure I can come up with something to soak -up the vibrations pretty easily, the probelm is I need to stop caching first.

My dad, Geo Dee out of TX, visited my family for a short spell during Dec 01. He did a search and found 3 caches very close to my house. He took the kids and I on a "hunt" and found 2 that day and 2 the following day. We liked it so much he let me borrow his spare GPSr to see if it was something we would get into or just let it fade to a memory. A month later I bought our own GPSr and sent his back to him. (thanx Dad) We don't plan on making Geo-history, but we do have a rendezvous with Geo-destiny. (history means it has to end) All we need now is a few sponsors and I can quit my job, find Geocaches all day/night and get paid for it. Just think of it Geo-Olympics Geo-masters tour

My wife has to work on sat. and I have the kids (boy 12, boy 11, girl 6). The 12 year old has his choice on sat. (it is 50/50 with him) whether to go with us or not. The other 2 have to go but they love the swapping of the toys. Sundays my wife likes to chill at home and relax from the her work week, but she does do the more family oriented caches (picnic caches) with all of us on a sunday. Now if on Sat. I burn out the kids and my wife say's it is cool with her (I ask out of respect) than I will leave very early and go 3 hours away (or so) and cache till it is very dark. In summery we as a family do caches about 50% as a family. Me I am 100% addicted!!! And my wife tells me I have lost at least 10 lbs

I am like BruceS, I will drive a long distance for a cluster. Those 49 (most of them in KY)caches he did that weekend i read the logs and I have done most of or maybe even all of them. allot of them were not easy caches to get to. (BruceS is not human) I do not set a limit and I allways load more waypoints than I can do. I will also set a course and travel in a circle to find caches, just move from cache to cache. if I have the kids with me I will not do a cache out of 100 crow miles that may have a hike longer 1.5 miles, but if I am by myself I will jog there find the cache jog back

I bought 20 TXGeocoins the same day the web site was out. They are great! I am keeping my lowest number, gave 5 to my wife (she's from TX) and 3 to my dad (Geo Dee, in Dallas). Caching the rest. They may do with those as they wish. I am trying to leave 2 coins in the major area's I love to/have cached in. I agree with the statement they are not a travel bug. If anyone finds a coin that I placed, you can keep it, cache it, sell it, melt it or leave it. I left it behind, i must have not wanted it anymore
