  1. In our 3 months in the hobby we have tallied 2 crack pipes made of foil, a big blue bong pipe found at one of our hides and a fouled pair of tidy whities. The surprising thing is that we were in rural areas.
  2. http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/marklent60544.../projectape.htm This will explain them. We're hoping to snag the one in Illinois soon.
  3. The sheer eloquence has me contemplating a bid....

    Car Mount

I just bought a cell phone mount that clips into an air vent for my etrex. If you search ebay most of the gps mounts are just cell phone mounts advertised differently and twice as expensive. Tomorrow will be my first chance to test it out.
  5. I got my etrex legend from amazon.com for $131 and they still have it for that price..you get free shipping too. You'll have to add it to your cart to see the low price. Can't beat it. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...PDKIKX0DER&st=* If you want to go etrex (yellow) you can get it for $89 on amazon.com with free shipping or $83 at walmart.com plus shipping. Just remember the walmart.com will have lower price on the site than at the store and they won't price match the website.
  6. I bounced into this topic today and was shocked to see such great avatars! Our team name is GeoDawn. That's Geo for George and Dawn for (you guessed it) Dawn. I had attempted to find some sort of cartoonish avatar of earth with a male face and the sun with a female face peeking over. Does that make any sense? I would ultimately like something that I can also add to buffalo nickels or other signature items. Any ideas?
  7. I received #10 yesterday. Very handsome design. Thanks!
  8. I think its a little mix up...Amazon has the Legend not the Vista for $131.94. The Vista on Amazon is $202.03. The price on these models is between 30-50 dollars more expensive on GPS Explorer. Darn....I woulda taken a Vista for $130!
  9. Neat idea. I ordered one and have a few ideas that would be interesting benchmark locations.
  10. I've purchased items from the Great Plains Geocaching Store on 2 different occasions and their shipping is very reasonable and my stuff got to me within a few days. Unreasonable shipping is a big deal killer for me.
  11. I heard about geocaching in years past but never really looked into it. Just a few weeks ago I read a pdf on geocaching that another employee at my company had posted on our for sale/to buy database. I immediately forwarded it to my wife knowing she would just dig the idea and before I made it home that night I had picked up a GPS and we had a great weekend finding caches.
  12. Within 1 weekend of starting geocaching we upgraded from the yellow etrex to the Legend blue. Basically it was because of the data cable and getting the Legend with a cable was cheaper than keeping the yellow and buying a cable seperately. Amazon had really good prices on them all and free shipping too.
