  1. Oooooh, Helloooo!!!! Welcome welcome.... (still think you must be bonkers to be a reviewer!)
  2. I asked my parents for their reccommendations.... Barcelona Dublin (but as others have said - costly) and Yes - Portugal they love a high difficulty and their ?'s They also said go with Barca - Dad just raved about getting to go to the Nou Camp Stadium, while mum raved about the caches, the weather and the wine!!! Edited cos I type too quickly!!
  3. After having a long think about setting a Chirp cache, I will be ordering a Chirp from the USA (you get it a wee bit cheaper - no pun intended!) and having it sent to my friend's home in the USA... Luckily I'm all set to visit at the end of March and will bring it home without the UK shipping fee too!!! Anyone want to jump on the wagon with me, drop me a line through my profile!!
  4. As a regular visitor to the Lleyn, I can tell you that there are very few caches there!! Many of the caches tend to have high terrain ratings, which put me off when I'm only going there visiting friends for a day, but the few caches I HAVE done there have been nice ones. To be fair, I've not looked at what's on Pen Lleyn for a while, so it may (although doubtfully) have lots more caches on, and I can't access GC.Com at work in order to look. However, don't get hung up on series / circuits, just get out and enjoy the walk!!
  5. I can only reitterate what Dave Womble has said... I've taken various GPS devices on flights, both internally and transatlantic. I've never had a problem with taking them on flights, and I've always asked the flight attendants before using them, and again, never had a problem. The only thing they've said is to ensure it's turned off during taxi'ing, take off and landing! Enjoy!
  6. Caching IS my geeky hobby... The rest are quite "normal".... reading, my gorgeous nephew, and being a full time wonderful woman!!!
  7. Well... they did it!!! For those of you who are NOT Facebookers (pics on my profile) here's one of the VERY happy couple..... What a wonderful day.... not everyday one of your best friends gets married!
  8. I'm happy to report that Sam is calm and happy... or was when I left her at 9.30pm last night!!! I'll be sure to post a nice pic of her and Isti here later, and TONNES of them on Facebook too!
  9. I'm happy to report that Sam will NOT be turning up to her wedding wearing her caching gear - her illusive dresss arrived today!! Hurrah!!!! PHEW!!!!
  10. Sam.... If it were me getting married on Saturday (God forbid!) I think I'd be more than panicking by now if I still didn't have a dress!! Don't forget your GPS for any drive by caches you might pass on the way!!
  11. I'm still waiting to hear whether Mrs B donated her wonderful Sprouty goodness? We DID have 12 days of Christmas on Facebook, with Mrs B giving us a new Sprouty recipe each day - complete with pictures!!! I wonder whether Nick & Ali will be donating their electric carving knife? No good to me either, only meat I eat is chicken, never had to use anything sharper than a spoon! We could have a veritable Generation Game stylee conveyorbelt comprising useless gifts we've been bought..... I'll start it off with a bottle of Vodka I was bought for Christmas, dispite the fact I can count on one hand how many drinks I've had in the last 2 years!! Any advances?
  12. For those of you that know Little Miss Naughty, and poor, suffering Isti, they are getting married this Saturday in Canterbury. I shall be making the hellish journey south and shall take lots of piccies... I wonder whether Sam will wear her walking boots and carry a GPS??? (Actually, her wedding dress STILL hasn't arrived, so there's every chance she'll turn up wearing her caching gear!) Congratulations to one of my best friends, I can't wait to see Isti FINALLY get you settled down!!
  13. Lol, Tia - I did!!! And I am.... I've ordered a 450 this evening!! Hurrah!
  14. Thanks Jen... Ali just told me tht on FB too - as I intend to put Talky Toaster maps on anyway, I guess the 450 will do!
  15. ok.... last question (I promise!!) I know I'm probably being blonde, but I don't seem to be able to find out what the difference between an Oregon 450 and a 450t is??? BUT - I HAVE decided to buy one of them!!! LOL Thanks all - I can see you all laughing at me and my indecisiveness!!
  16. I created an account for Skippy and Pingu's twins (Pinga and Roo) before they were born... they went caching at a VERY young age... I also seem to remember that Shadow Walker's daughter Charlotte attended her first camping event at 6 weeks old!!!
  17. I had a late night last night, and was looking forward to a bit of a lie in after a shockingly rubbish week... cue my mobile ringing at 6.10am.... on a SaturdayLOL It was My Parents, the Sandiway Seachers... SS's: "have you seen Geocaching on the Telly?" Me: (in a confused state as per..) "er... I don't know, I found out about it from the telly 6 years ago..." SS's: (clearly exasperated at my drowsy state) "Noooooo - on telly NOW" I must have knocked EVERYTHING off the bedside table to find the TV remote..... oh **** there goes last night's cup of tea...... Missed it..... 30 mins or so later (and I'd dropped back off) "ting ting" goes a text... it's on again... Try and scrape myself from under the duvet to sit up, and I watch..... OMG - what a great article... I too thought the first "hide" was dreadful, but not bad coverage overall... Well done chaps!!!
  18. Ohhhhh Now I've thrown another spanner in the works.... I went on a bit of a caching bender this weekend with Nat from Team Tan and Kerrie from Andybug and Ladybird.... and fell in love with my Colorado again.... Ho hum.... One day I MIGHT just get around to trading her in, but I don't know that it'll be right now!!
  19. Lets wait for Nick to come along - Mr sTeam Traen lives in France and I remember him telling us all about Cistes a few years ago........
  20. How dare he have a life outside of GC.com!!!
  21. This is physically impossible for the female of the species Posted while the wife wasn't watching Nooo - honest - just the one case as opposed to the usual two for me!!
  22. If you buy one in the US don't forget that any built-in maps will be US maps and not European maps. You can get a worldwide basemap from Amazon.com in the US, but yeah - red channel / green channel, not a problem... I know! I usually just end up buying clothes and makeup when I'm there, but I'm not intending to shop as heavily as usual this time around!!
  23. Be careful not to go over your duty free allowance though - otherwise you'll have to pay import VAT, which can easily wipe out any saving. The allowance is £390, so it won't be a problem unless you're getting more than just the GPS. By the time I've played with it, It'll look jut like I took it with me - I'm not known for being careful with my GPS!!! I know the rules about customs, I go to the USA every year - sometimes twice a year
