  1. Does someone own a little to many shares of a big oil company stock or what?? Maybe you don't realize this Skadar but gas prices effect the prices of everything including the prices of the food in the grocery store. So clipping those coupons you mention isn't really going to give you any extra money for gas now is it.
  2. 1) Passion of the Geocacher 2) Geocaching: Now there is a reason to hike. 3) Geocaching Lets get started.
  3. Boy with all the talk about BOMBS I wonder how many alarms this thread has set off for the FBI or other Government agencys... (By the way I think BOMBS are very bad Mr.Guy at the FBI)
  4. Now that is something I hadn't thought of. Thank you for bringing it up. What about FTF prizes, do they have to be something with FTF on it or just a nice prize?
  5. Have you thought about using FRS / GMRS radios? I mean just in case something did happen.
  6. I am planning on placing my first cache sometime in the next week. So I am wondering how many items for trade should I put in this new cache? This cache will be a regular size ammo can. I know there isn't any set rule on this I am just wanting to hear some ideas from all of you on how you stock your new caches. Thanks for any input.
  7. I don't think that it would be cheating. I mean I have never done that, but on the travelbug log you have the option of choosing "retrieved from" or "grabbed it" plus if you are at a event cache then you have found the "cache" so to speak. IMO
  8. If you really want a first to find why not try to find one of the caches that has been posted for awhile yet noone has gone to find it. (maybe its a further drive or a higher difficulty cache) I think most states have at least one or two that have been posted for awhile and still haven't been found.
  9. They just said the average gas price for my state (Arizona) is $2.20 on the news, but where I live (Roosevelt Lake) It is $2.49. It has slowed me down in everything we do from caching to trips into town which is about a 20 mile trip one way. They also said on the news that prices are expected to keep rising until the end of summer.
  10. I'm wearing camo, most of it is green Camo! Who would have guessed
  11. I am wearing a green shirt from the forest service (I guess) it has little trees on the front and it says recreational resource manager on the back. Anyways I found it in a cache. Its the only green shirt I have. Happy St. Patricks Day 2005 everyone.
  12. Cool site!! This is exactly what I have been loo ing for. Thanks!
  13. So was it a cartoon or was it the cat tree photo?
  14. I'm with Stony2008 on this one. I don't think there ever was a bet. Who would bet on something like that anyway??? I think if someone has that big of a problem with the forums its time to log off and go caching!!
  15. When I first started thinking of places to hide a cache I seriously considered putting one in my yard, because I thought that it would be a great way to meet more cachers. The reason I decided not to was because I realized that well meeting cachers would be cool, I would have to tell the neighbors not to worry about the people searching around our yard. Then it occured to me what if the person in my yard wasn't a cacher and noone paid any attention to that person because I told them not to. One of the best security systems that we have is our neighbors and by placing a cache in the yard I would be basically disarming them.
  16. So if I understand the OP correctly in this thread you are asking that more rules be made about where a cache can be placed??? You know what hey say be careful what you ask for!
  17. Is this for real? If stickers really bother you, why not leave a ink pad in the cache require fingerprints or even better how about a DNA sample?????
  18. umm there are lots of ways to spell a name or change a word without adding numbers. I doubt that user names on gc.com would have to ever be really long and even if they ever do, WHO cares???
  19. There is NO such thing as COMMON SENSE. What I know is because of the envrionment I have grown up in what you know and take for granted is because of the environment you have grown up in. There is no instinctive knowledge that sticking a screwdriver in a light socket is BAD, I'll refrain from any comments here. No we all need to be taugth what is approperate and can be hazardous or dagnerous. I guess it is a pet peve to make referance to common sense being ksome inate knowledge we should all know. The reall issue is that people FAIL to find out if there is a hazard involved in any situation they get involved in. cheers This person has no common sense!!
