  1. I don't usually whine and I do appreciate all the effort to make the site better but....the new maps are useless. I prefer the old maps where the caches were listed on the right and numbered to the waypoints on the map. Makes for better printouts from screen shots. I DO like the check box's for excluding cache types, found caches, and caches own. Can this feature be implemented with the old maps and located at the bottom of the page out of the way?
  2. If we are limited to only 3 cache hides, will this encourage the cachers who DON'T hide to start doing so? I don't think so. 3 year time limit, don't like that idea either. I enjoy logging those 4 and 5 digit waypoint caches and reading the logs. This would also eliminate the Ape Cache and Original Stash Tribute. 2 Northwest must dos.
  3. Congratulations to WR7X on his 2,000th find at The Original Stash! I better get busy and hide a few more caches to help him get to 3,000!
  4. Congratulations to my good friend ihavecats for her 1000th find!
  5. Looks like you had some help from north of the border. GC15H5R Thanks for all your time.
  6. Verizon like all the national carriers only hang out along the highways in this area. Pretty much worthless in the Blues. I have Unicel which is regional and have towers everywhere including one at the top of Bluewood Ski Area nearby. Sorry to hear about your head gasket blowing. Hope you get to make another trip up that way. The Skyline road is rough, slow, and dusty but a very beautiful drive. BTW, I see you logged my Griffin Peak cache. The area across from the gravel pile is a favorite place of mine to camp and watch the sunset from the ridge.
  7. To bad It's a work night and I'm 30 miles away. Strange, I usually have cell service along most of that ridge line. Sorry to hear you made it that far up and didn't reach the lookout.
  8. Just checked the NIFC website and the closest new fire to Spokane is the Echo Springs Fire: After dealing with the School and Columbia Complex Fires the last couple of years, I have found the Spokane media to be about 12 hours behind on coverage if any at all. ie: fire size, containment, etc. Great job in getting it reported! NIFC Website
  9. Take it to Jeep country! That's where mine is going.
  10. Using the 100,000 idea, the Blue Mountain caches alone equal 53,378. You can drive very close to all but "Uprooted". "Uprooted" is a 1.25 mile moderate hike from Tee Pee TH but well worth it and a Forest Pass is NOT required in the Umatilla NF. A high clearance vehicle and a good spare tire is recommended for the Kendal and 2 Table Rock caches but you can get very close. All roads are usually open by July.
  11. Great idea for a challenge. Glad to see quite a few Blue Mountain caches on the list.
  12. According to the State Park website, the tunnel won't open until May 15th: Iron Horse Trail State Park Looks like Annette Lake Trail is your best bet. A day pass is $5. I found the trail in good shape and well worth the hike up. Be sure to log the Iron Horse cache near the tunnel 1/2 mile away. It's an oldie! Have fun, Bluesman63
  13. Some of those caches in that area (including yours) are on my to do list.
  14. I have logged 4 of his caches so far and they have all been great. Off the beaten path but well worth the drive and hike. Wallula Gap Overlook has to be my favorite.
  15. I have an HP Pavilion DV1000 series. 1.6 gig Celeron with 512 megs ram. Wi-Fi is built in and I have an air card through a local cellular company. Runs GSAK with no problem. It's small, light, and goes everywhere with me.
  16. Diabetes is common in my family and I'm prediabetic. This is a great idea and I signed up for a TB. Any future plans on doing one for cancer?
  17. How about Seattle, the home of Geocaching.com?
  18. Looks fine to me It's fine now that the listing has been correctly listed for Washington.
  19. This cache is listed as being in Idaho when it's actually located in Washington. Off by a mile.
  20. The NWTHA site is dead. JPODAY has all the active caches listed on Navicache now. There is one near my home that has the literature for NWTHA inside. I was FTF a year and a half after it was hidden.
  21. Sounds like a legit bow hunter to me. I see them all the time here in Eastern Washington dressed that way. Quite the site when they come in to the local convenience stores with the cammo makeup on their faces. BTW, bow season always starts on Labor Day weekend.
  22. With the Columbia Complex Fire, we have BIG baricades blocking the roads with the more major ones being manned by either state troopers or game agents making sure nobody enters.
