  1. I think I've got it now. By hell - that was a lesson in perseverance. I just hope everything now works properly. Full marks to Groundspeak for their continued non-support of their software!
  2. Where do I find these, please? I've got the Builder working, I think, but trying to open the emulator just gives me an error message.
  3. Glad to say I've sorted the problem. All I needed to do was go into User Account Control Settings - "Choose when to be notified about changes to your computer" and set that to "Never Notify". Ah well - perhaps I'm NOT too old to learn new tricks after all!
  4. I've checked the System Configuration on my PC and I am the only user, and an "administrator". Try as I might I cannot load Wherigo Builder as I keep getting the same error message. I've not got much hair but I'm pulling out the little that is left to me!
  5. Many thanks, Mr Fox: I don't understand much of what you say but I am the only user of my PC and just switch it on when I want to use it. I've not had bother loading any software in the past, and can load Earwigo, Urwigo and Wherigo/kit without bother. It's just the GS Wherigo that won't install. I started looking at the Earwigo introduction, loaded the test cartridge but then got stuck as it wants me to go into Wherigo Emulator - but I can't load Wherigo......
  6. I'm trying to install Download Wherigo Builder for Windows (Alpha)from http://www.Wherigo.com/builder/download.aspx to my PC, of which I am the only user. All I see is an error message "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" How can I get round that, please?
  7. Forgive me if I am in error here - I am not a tax-savvy person by any stretch of the imagination! If I paid for Premium Membership through a VAT-registered company here in England I would be able to claim back the VAT. For this I would require the VAT registration details of the service provider, yet Groundspeak have said they will not publish such a detail.
  8. Many thanks to all who replied to this. I;m happy to say I seem to have sorted it. Rutson's Macro did not create a file for the Lordelph icons, so I did that manually, the I had to point GSAK in the right direction. That seems to have worked.
  9. Sorry, I realise that this subject has been done to death previously, but a lot of the information I have seen appears to be out of date. I use GSAK and the Rutson Macro RMMe to export the database to Memory Map. I used to see the Lordelph icons appear but now all I get is the Dreaded Blue Dot. I can't recall what circumstance triggered the change, but I cannot find how to reverse it. Various erudite and knowledgeable people have tried to sort this out, but so far without success (whether that is down to my ineptitude is a moot point!). Can anyone explain in plain English for a numpty to understand just how to get the Lordelph icons back? I run two systems: 1) The desktop machine with Windows XP 2) The laptop with Windows 7 Both use GSAK 8.2.0.11 and MemoryMap v5, 5.1.3 build 716 Here's Hoping!!! Keith Two Tykes
  10. What is geocaching? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. Need I say more? GS has foisted a load of garbage on us this time. I have deleted my avatar from my personal profile. When I can't find a cache I look at past logs to see when people found it last in order to judge whether anyone might remember it to give me a nudge. Not now! Very Unhappy.... Keith
  11. Just another nail in the coffin of the sport! How long before others get in on the act and "caches" begin to spread uncontrolled throughout the land? Must say, though, reading some of the GS Forum entries make it sound as though Groundspeak is almost claiming copyright, monopoly and global control on hiding tupperware under trees and rocks.
