  1. From memory the fee is £15. Not everyone ends up paying this fee or the VAT though as it can depend on how the package is labelled
  2. Reason is I asked Graham and neither he nor I* received it. Interested in case you sent it somewhere else and need to contact one of us in the future * I review as Croaghan and Graham is wildfowler/Inishanier. Any Ireland reviewer queries need to come to one of us.
  3. Don't group all phones in one inaccurate heap. The GPS on my BB Storm is *very* accurate and I've used it a few times to set caches with perfect coordinates. In fact in certain circumstances I've found it more accurate than my 76CSx!
  4. Point 4 here relates to the password but it could be affecting the PM when you're using it in your UN too? http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?p....page&id=31
  5. Who did you send the request to? Just remember that reviewers review around their day jobs and that 48-72hrs is a reasonable time to wait although it can sometimes be quicker.
  6. AFAIK there are no plans to organise an Irish Mega and tbh I don't see there being one organised for many years. You can see more here: http://forums.geocachingireland.com/viewto...?f=2&t=2811
  7. No kidding! I can't believe the quality of the first one from a phone camera!
  8. http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=8241 If you scan the list (probably best to start at the end and work back) you will find UK, Ireland and British Isles maps.
  9. Welcome Geohatter. I hope you enjoy your new role
  10. Done http://forums.geocachingireland.com/viewto...?f=6&t=2943
  11. Wrong. A reviewer will get a notification even if the move is 0m/ft. "Nudging" a cache like this is not a good idea and is even more likely to bring you to the attention of a reviewer than just emailing them and asking them to complete the move for you.
  12. You would probably have more luck getting this answered on the GSAK Forum ( http://gsak.net/board/index.php? ). This macro has it's own thread there somewhere too.
  13. I'm not a great fan of bags but on the one or two occasions I have used them I found weed control fabric to be the best. It's easy to cut, blends in well and you can use a stapler to form a rough bag shape with a longer piece to fold over the cache. Takes about 5 mins and no sewing skills required Any caches I've found wrapped in this fabric appear to be drier than more water resistant fabrics as they tend to hold the water inside for much longer and also encourage slugs etc.
  14. Through the GC.com site? If so which map exactly were you using? Most of the maps have three boxes in the corner [Maps][satellite][Terrain] At some stage you may have changed to terrain and the site remembers it. Select one of the others to change back.
  15. If they do, log it again. If they delete it a second time, add a "needs archived" to your original log, and an email to the reviewer. Sorry but this isn't a reviewer's area of responsibility. Check the post below that I made earlier in this thread to see what to do when your log gets deleted: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...t&p=4378903
  16. I'm fairly sure that it would be worth complaining to Groundspeak should your valid and fairly polite (if uncomplimentary) log be deleted. The point of them listing caches is so that people can find them and record their visits, not so that someone can have a cache and accumulate lots of compliments about it. In any case, I suspect that this particular cacher is losing his/her "customers" at a fair rate with this attitude! I'll echo this See Pt 10 at the bottom of this Knowledge Book article: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?p...page&id=204
  17. Perfect opportunity for a Needs Maintenance log and if nothing happens then a Needs Archived log. You've already offered some kind of help to the CO so it's time they sort it out or ask for help. As to the OP have you tried contacting the COs and asking them if they need any help getting their coordinates sorted. At that stage you could try helpfully suggesting ways they could improve the quality of their caches. Reviewers can't/won't get involved in quality discussions with COs. Inaccurate coordinates are a different matter though and tend to be very dimly looked on!
  18. You can try it on one of my listings if you want? Let me know and I'll post a test log for you.
  19. Whoa...two crackers to start the competition off!
  20. It could be that the PQs are there but you're not seeing them as you are too far away for it to display. Try going to the map screen and changing the view to show Cork and they should be there then. I think you can also search the listings by name?
  21. Definitely prepare a few caches in advance but don't just stick with trads We've done Trads, Multis, Puzzles, Earthcaches, Virtuals and a Wherigo in Holland/Germany It's great when you see you're the only Brits ever to have done them Back in 2008 we chose the massive Multi Coevorden for our 1000th find and it took a vast amount of preparation. Great fun though! We've off to Belgium later in the year and in a pq of the closest 500 caches there are only 150 trads! I've already cracked a few puzzles in preparation... I appreciate what you are saying but with a non-caching wife and two young kids it's usually a time-limit and one or two trads tends to be my lot when on hols

  23. I haven't cached much on holidays but have tended to select a few easy trads in advance and translate them before I go. I don't think I have done anything other than straightforward trads when abroad.
  24. Due to the significant amount of changes Clyde decided to make a charge for V7 for new and existing users. I was under the assumption that V6 would remain available via the site though. I'm not sure as upgrading and paying for a second registration was never an issue for me.
