  1. Oh, Grasshopper... you haven't earned "Not It" rights yet. We'll let you know when you do.... MAYBE we will!!
  2. Definitely, curious minds wanna know.
  3. The ruling would be, that that cache resides in Map #682. The Top Latitude for that map# is 26.300, and the Bottom is 23.250. The Latitude for that cache falls in between those at 26.288.
  4. Congrats to northbranch and welcome to the four digit club, for finding #1000 at my Snookie's Favorites Part Deux.

    Snow?

My two daughters had softball games today, and it was snowing in Port Orchard on several occasions during the games, a couple of times real heavy, but nothing that impacted the games. It was just Reeaally cold and Reeaally windy. What my cheeks look like after the whole day out there------->
  6. I would also like to shoot out there, a congrats to Speeding Element for find #700. Getting a hold of all those trackables, is bound to take you to alot of caches! Is 1500 TB's and counting a milestone too? Thanks for the support of my TB Hotel SE!
  7. How did I miss this one ....Congrats Patudles!!
  8. Good news for seekers of Map #472, A new cache was published in that map last night, called The Road to Nowhere (GC1B32N) hidden by none other than jholly. Thanks Jim!
  9. The issue with us is, it is little league time. We have one kid in little league baseball, and two girls in softball. The seasons for all three last until the middle of June, and pretty much have all Saturdays (and every other day ending in Y) taken up until then. We don't have their schedules yet, so I can't be specific as to a date just yet.
  10. I am posting this on behalf of chillmama, who is forum challenged, regarding her Cache-N-Carry CITO Indianola Park Event. There has been very little support for this event, and it seems to be a date issue. She would like to get some input and suggestions from the area cachers on a better date to have this much needed event, to hopefully increase the attendance, and help. You can post here, on the event listing itself, or both, with suggestions.
  11. For those that may be interested, a new cache for Map 681 (the extreme northwest corner) has been placed by sarahmjones & Team*Bishop, called GLINT-enstein!!! (GC1AFKV). I know that the new cache notification has been an issue, and some of you on the north end of the county may not have received notice of it. Also keep in mind that this is an unknown/mystery cache, so Dick and I will be using the published coordinates on the top of the listing, to determine which map # it falls on, NOT the actual location of the container.
  12. That would now be behind by 11
  13. Another near miss for map 592 needers. This time it is not Snookie74's or my fault . TheCowboyWayne & TurtleFinder placed a cache that can't be more than a couple of hundred feet south of 592. It is in 622 and is (GC1AXDT) Watch Your Step!
  14. Congrats go to gordo1013, for find #1100 at my Retsil Remnants cache today.
  15. A Big Congrats to jholly on his FTF on the Kitsap County Challenge!!!!!
  16. I think this is a great thread, and will be a great reference to those of us in beginning stages of hiking in the wilderness. There has been some great info from the experienced, as well as a great link too. Thanks for starting this thread, and to any one that has posted so far. I will definitely be monitoring it from now on. Maybe, if anyone sees any of these animals while hiking they can post here where and when they saw them as well.
  17. Thanks to everyone helping out! My work schedule is kinda funky right now, but I didn't wanna miss thanking everyone for there help in this challenge, with all the rescent hides in the north end of the county.

    Newby Help?

Welcome to the obsession!!! , and agreed on both points. As far as events go, be sure to check out Spring Fling 2008 . It won't help you out in the immediate future, since it is in the beginning of May, but is a bustling heap of fun and information, and a great place for someone new to the sport to meet others that are, both new to the sport, and experienced at this obsession as well. Fell free to introduce yourself and ask away. Everyone is more than happy to help you out. In regards to a more immediate solution, Snookie74 and I may be available this weekend in the West Seattle area to meet up with you. The schedule is kinda iffy right now, so we will have to let you know closer to the weekend.
  19. I'd hardly call the Washington State policy stringent. They are asking you to speak to the ranger, describe your cache location and fill out a contact information sheet. They do have the right to say no to a location and/or suggest a better one and ask that you agree to a maintenance plan. Some states have fees involved in placing caches in their parks, limits on how many caches per park they will permit (regardless of how large the park is) and firm time limits on how long a cache can be in place. Ok, I will state this in another way.Stringent was apparently the wrong word to use, and not meant in the negative way that you interpreted it. My point in the whole thing, was that Minnesota (and now Utah, as Hydnsek mentioned) literally ask, for caches to be placed in their State Parks. Here in Washington State, there are still rules and regulations/ guidelines to follow in order to place one in one of our parks, and it is not an advertised invite by them, as in Minnesota and Utah. Not saying the things that our State Parks request we do, to place one here are wrong (or difficult to complete), but they are not asking, like the other states. I feel we have a very beautiful state, and I am sure the state parks think so too, hence the guidelines they have in place in regards to geocaching and protecting the environment.....not a bad thing.
  20. Maybe the "Land of of Ten Thousand Lakes", does not have such a stringent policy in place, regarding their State Parks, and the environmental impact on them, as Washington State does. Other than that, I am not sure, but I am glad to see the support for Geocaching on such a level!
  21. I heard that the Port Orchard FM Event is pretty darn close to being completed, and should be submitted in the next few days (or so)....stand by. As far as Seattle-Tacoma-Everett, having one, I can't help ya on that. Sorry.
  22. Thanks for bringing up the Cemetery Quest-Eglon cache. Jennie and I had noticed that it was fairly close to the edge with 432 when we were going through the caches for the pages. I remember that cache specifically, as there were several cows insistent on knowing what we were doing there, causing me to dub them 'Moogles' After finding all of the Cemetery Quest caches, and adopting one of them, it is a true unfortunate thing, that HeadLlama's coords did seem to be off for the most part. Also, I second the Thanks to Jim, for placing another cache, one in #563. Which Ironically, Molly was FTF on, so I guess congrats is in order for the both of them
