  1. The book would have to have a cut off date. Since it would take some time to get it put together, coins up to 2007 (or maybe 2008) could be included. Then future updates could be provided on a yearly basis, with an accompaning index of all coins. One problem that I've seen is that the numbers of coins are sometimes protected and minters or owners don't want to have the number get out. I think it would be great to have a quality color picture of each coin, who designed it, minted it, owns it. How many coins of each metal were made, trackable or numbered, and what was the numbering sequence. Then also have a section with the history of the coin. Why that design, what does it mean to the owner. This would be a great book, but one that would take a massive amount of work. I would be willing to be part of it and help out with what little I could too.
  2. I am looking for the following 2007 GeocoinFest Multi-Event geocoins. The coins will be made available at the Oct 6th events, but many have pre-ordered them. I will trade my Northern California location event coin or another coin (let me know what coin you would like to trade) for them. -Alberta -British Columbia -Georgia -Hawaii -Idaho -Minnesota -Mississippi -Nova Scotia -Pennsylvania -Quebec -South Dakota -Texas -Washington -Wisconsin I have some potential trades (after the event, if there any coins left over), but I'd like to get a commitment now so that I know I'll be able to get a coin.
  3. I also would like to arrange a trade for the GeocoinFest Multi-Event geocoins. I have the Northern California location coin that I'd like to trade for the following locations: Alberta, British Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nova Scotia, Pennsylvania, Quebec, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin. I have some potential trades (after the event, if there any coins left over), but I'd like to get a commitment now so that I know I'll be able to get a coin. Thanks Captain Zulu for your trade.
  4. 1. Yes I trade 2. I trade a little more than I buy. I didn't get many of my first coin edition to trade. My newest coin edition is going mostly into caches, but will trade some of those too. 3. Sometimes I trade to get an icon I really like, but I usually trade for a coin I like, whether trackable or non-trackable.
  5. I just got the newsletter and didn't see any mention of the Copper coin.
  6. I agree, but I still think the idea for a free coin is a good one. Maybe a better topic next time.
  7. I had a coin stollen during a 'trade'. A cacher had a coin to trade and I offered a trade, and it was accepted. I sent my coin, and I never heard any more from him. I didn't get the promised coin, he wouldn't respond to any of my emails, and I even learned that he had done this same thing to others. He was in Europe, I'm in the US. So, since it was early in my coin trading experience, it made me a little leary about trading overseas - but, I got over it. This guy stopped posting for trades, and I've still never learned what happened. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, he could have been sick, or otherwise occupied and couldn't complete the trade as agreed. But, on the other hand, he probably got better. Unless of course he didn't and that would be bad, but he continues to log caches (I've checked his profile).
  8. I like the coin, so keep me informed. But, what is the geocaching connection?
  9. I'm still a little confused about what these would look like. Can you provide any sketches of your idea?
  10. I completely agree that coins should bring happiness. It made me just as happy to see Jacob's smile with my coin, as it made him when he saw it. I mailed my coin direct, so it got there before the rest of the coins, but I'm anxious to see Jacob's smile when the floor is covered with all those coins. I'm really delighted that I was able to be a part of this.
  11. I just wanted to add my 2 cents too. As a collector, an Event coin that is advertized as being available Only at the event, should only be available to the attendees of the event. To make sure there isn't any coins left over, you could take the orders at the event. Not just one per person, but as many as they want. Then the Event attendees can have the coin, and also they could trade them, if they bought extras. The coins would still be sold only at the events, and a collector would have to get the coin by either attending the event or trading with someone who did attend the event. The coins should be ready to mint at the time of the Event, and immediately after the event, the order can be placed and in 3 or 4 weeks (depending upon the mint), the coins would be available for distribution. There wouldn't be any extra coins, and there wouldn't be anyone left out - unless they didn't order them at the event when they could have (shame on them).
  12. As Lori so correctly said "The power of prayer and positive thinking is proven to work". My prayers and thoughts of Jacob are added to those before me.
  13. I would think that some of this would depend on what you wanted to do. If you want to raise money, most of the coins sold would probably end up in collections due to the cost of about $10 or so. If you wanted to circulate the coins, you sell them for about $4 or so. I have seen very few BikeDog coins in the wild, but many more of the Motogrl coins. And I expect it was due to the cost.
  14. I think that this is a great idea. However, things don't always work out the way you want them to. We had a local cache that wasn't called a coin hotel, but that is what it was. It only lasted a week, even as a 'subscriber only' cache.
  15. I got mine today. They sure were worth the wait, I love them. Thanks!

I saw the picture of it before I even knew if was available. Of course by then I was too late. I'd like to be but on a waiting list if such a thing has been generated. Will they every be for sale?
  18. Got my three today. I love getting presents before Christmas.
  19. I'm interested. I've ordered my coins and am anticipating a surprise.
  20. I've had a number of emails from people asking if the coins are still for sale. So, this is to say that the link for ordering is still active. I don't know how many more coins there are, but you can still order them.
  21. email sent: This coin really looks great! I'd like to have: 2-Black Nickel, non-glow 1-Black Nickel, glow 1-Antique Silver, non-glow When will we be able to see pictures of the different metals/versions? I may have a special trade for you.
