  1. Gadget show agreed the TomTom One was the best in-car package. They said it was much smaller than the 300 and uses the SIRF chipset.
  2. I download caches using GSAK's TomTomPOI export but it would be nice to add POI's 'in the field'. Does that utility do it? Yes, it creates it's own ov2 file. Especially useful when a cache has parking coords as TomTom routes to the nearest point on-road when the cache is generally off-road. Often with comical results. I also use G7toCE to download points from PDA to GPS, I rarely use the PC cable any more. PS My setup is an IpaQ with a serial cable to a Garmin Legend.
  3. I use geocacheuk which exports to TomTom as an overlay. For one-off's I use OS GPS Converter.
  4. It certainly can, but the cable is not supplied with the etrex, and has to be ordered separately. I bought mine at the same time as the etrex, and paid about £25 four years ago. The higher models have the cable included ?!? It may be cheaper to buy a blue etrex
  5. Just been Googling. There has already been a lawsuit, muggles date back to 1984. This predates geocaching and Harry Potter, this could run and run..... http://www.realmuggles.com
  6. Milton Keynes has a couple of excellent walkable caches in the shopping area. You can do them at the same time.
  7. What came first muggles or muggles ? I knew there were muggles in Harry Potter, but it didn't occur to me which came first.
  8. Maybe the MarkandLynn DustOff bookmark could include lost TB's as well.
  9. So the Magellan guesses under trees and goes straight past the waypoint with a good signal. Whereas the Garmin when it has no signal tells you straight away and goes straight to the waypoint with a good signal. The Magellan needed repairing for a known fault and the Garmin hasn't Hmmm, which one now..... PS I'm a happy Garmin Legend owner.
  10. I have 2 accounts, one for proper caching and one for the armchair caching.
  11. Mmmmm..if its a limited run how come they have 50 for sale ? Limited to how many they can sell.....
  12. Has anyone thought to have a Bookmark of caches near pylons, cannot believe thought of it before.
  13. Not half as silly as going up the M1 on a bicycle.
  14. TomTom alerts you to nearby POI's automatically. Isn't this easier ?
  15. That's more than I paid for my Ipaq (2ndhand)
  16. This was my/our 1st cache. B4 we went, my newly purcahsed GPS was a waste of money and geocaching was childish and a waste of time. My wife came with me to humour me. When we finished the cache; she found it, it was great fun and when can we do another....
  17. Different cache. Same treatment In reply to KiwiGary, Yes it is paint.
  18. You can't miss this one !!! You have to walk around to this one....
