  1. Everybody knows how awkward GPS can be in highrise cities. I'd heard of the idea, didn't know it was downloadable. Anyody tried it ? CLICKY
  2. Picked up my Garmin to go out and noticed I'd lost the little black woggle bit on the lanyard. I can't be the first Is there a handy bead or something that can replace it ? You wouldn't believe how useful it is HEEEEEEEELP
  3. It would be interesting to know if reception is still an issue. Are the latest ones all similar ? Being a Garmin Legend owner, it's a sore point. Is it the chipset or the aerial that is important?
  4. I feel the more public a cache is the more obvious it's location should be, either using geosense or a descriptive clue. This doesn't mean it has to be easy though. However, if a clue is in an area that allows a good rummage then no problem. Using this criteria I wil spend as little as 2 minutes or as long as it needs to find a cache.
  5. Winter months may be better as the heavy clothing would come in handy
  6. It appears Johnny Foreigner can do what they like Only possible with a shovel dadgum our picky Reviewers
  7. Look at the limited list of hardware though.... CLICKY
  8. Amazing, your name really is Johnny PS Don't look at my favourite cache
  9. I have reported it to the French reviewer, I'm asking for a 2nd opinion. I'll just spend a year at night-school and learn French and then raise it on the French forum. Or how about I raise it as a question about a hypothetical UK cache, would that be better ? I did make comments in the paper log. Negative posts aren't always liked and can get deleted. Hence the question to the Reviewer who I know speaks very good English. I think a French Reviewer could speak with more tact in French then an I and therefore avoid an archive. It's a great cache location, just not a great cache location
  10. I did the cache, thought it was a bit iffy and reported it. What's the problem ? When I do one I'll report it. Did you report the one's you saw ? If not then how do we 'get our house in order' ? And your point is ?
  11. *If* that's the case, then I would be in agreement - it's no different to drilling a hole in an ancient tree. Caches should always be placed in their natural environment without any damage being done. From the photos on the link, it's hard to say whether the stone was removed on purpose or not, so I don't know that I'd go on a mission to get the owner a telling off - i'd want some proof. I do agree in principle tho I don't think it is important who created the hole in the wall, well I do but that's not the topic It's the perception others could have of geocaching I have issue with. Seeing a geocache container in a hole in a wall, gives the perception that it is okay to dig a hole in a wall.

  13. This is the case. Seeing a cache located in the wall, suggests that the hole was made to put the cache in, whether it was or not.
  14. I reported this a while ago and I'm the only who seems bothered about it. The big pic at the bottom shows the wall; a ROMAN AQUADEUCT.... The smaller one to the left shows the cache container which is located in the end of the wall. Surely there's a guideline that disallows this. Cache gallery
  15. "Heart of Paris" - GCQTP6 and Tea 4 Tour (Eiffel) (GCZB7M) are two must do Paris caches. I'd never been to the Jardin du Luxembourg so the two Latin Quartier caches GC134KP and GC135EY were great for me. Would liked to of done Le parc Monceau GC13ETC but when I got there I noticed I hadn't got the pictures. Get you thinking cap on for these two The mysterious lettre - la lettre mistérieuse GC13KC4, solved but couldn't find. The Da Vinci Code GC13QC3, couldn't solve part 2. After trying these two I would suggest any cache by zarbatavis. Bon voyage.
  16. Thanx for the info so far but I'm still stuck Think I'm just crap at these.... For those interested, it's this cache GC13QC3
  17. Anybody point me in the direction of some good (FREE) software for extracting the said onfo. I've found some analysing software which says there's something in there, I just can't get it out.
  18. Found Baggy View and Hanglider Heaven last year, they seem to of survived. I like the idea as you pretty sure it's going to be there.
  19. Did it with GPSBabel in the end. After all that there weren't any caches near the route. Hmmph.
  20. Waypoint Workbench, rings a bell. I'm on it...
