  1. So, where is the best place to discuss a new release?
  2. Where is the entry to correct coords on a cache page now? Is it gone or is it hidden somewhere?
  3. I'm logged in and cannot start a new topic. Why not?
  4. That site is a laugh. A poor excuse for a mobile site. What we need is a REAL m.geocaching.com !
  5. It is about time GC.com creates a mobile version of the site. Most of us are using mobile devices are we not???
  6. I often see "Luckily had seen this type before so had an idea of what I was looking for." in a log. Isn't this ESP? You know what you are looking for before you even see it?
  7. Don't download the cache info (gpx file) to your computer. On the cache page click on "send to MYGPS". You have to connect your eTrex with the usb cable to your computer ofcourse. A better way: become a premium member, set up a pocket query and download the resulting ZIP file, unzip and load the gpx file containg the caches in your PQ in Mapquest, upload the caches to your Garmin and your are done! If your PQ contains the maximum caches your Garmin can hold, you have to delete the old caches from your eTrex before you can upload a new PQ.
  8. What model Garmin? How did you download it? How far is the cache away from where you are? I am using an older Garmin etrex vista C. I am trying to download by using the SEND TO GPS button next to the cache information. The cache is in the same area of my manually loaded caches. These are 9 to 10 miles from my home. The manually loaded caches show right up. Thanks for any help. I'm somewhat computer challenged.
  9. How do I do this? I can seek for caches from a single hider, but how do I create a PQ from that? Thanks
  10. On your Vista, go to Find...Geocaches. Press the Menu button (bottom one on the left). Select Delete. This will delete all your caches. Just load the caches from a new PQ and your done! eTrex Hcx will hold 1000 caches. If you select 1000 caches the PQ will not be emailed to you, just a link and you have to download from GC.com
  11. Create a PQ, download the PQ from the "Pocket Queries Ready to Download" tab, unzip the file and save the GPX files. Use Mapquest to upload them to your eTrex.
  12. You get 2 gpx files returned from a PQ. One that contains the cache coordinates and can be uploaded to your eTrex via Mapsource, the other one that contains all the cache info and will NOT upload to your eTrex. You can convert this file to HTML (use gpx2html.exe) and upload them to a PDA or Ipod using Plucker (an HTML reader for Palms.) I use an old Palm Zire71 (bought for $20 on Ebay). You are now set for paperless caching.
  13. Can I create a PQ from the interactive map shown at bottom of geocache page? I know there is a link to the PQ creation page, but no info is tranferred. One has to enter all the info required. It would be nice to just create the PQ using the caches shown on the map.
