  1. Thank you GCHQ for fixing this. All good now. incidentally the 500 Error suggested referring to Geocaching on Twitter for updates. Not everyone uses, has access to X, hence coming here to the forums. This should be changed to keep such reporting within the Groundspeak system IMO. But thanks for the fix.
  2. Same thing here... Been same all day. Can’t access dashboard
  3. First WOC Challenge = smiley = Seeking Smileys = 100 caches 2nd WOC = hearts = Favourite Fan = 1000 Fav points 3rd WOC = car = Out and About = cache 20 days 4th WOC = star = Streaking Star = 28 day Streak That leaves what looks like coins with multi-cache symbol and the two people symbol. I would interpret those as possibly trackables and events.
  4. Roger Fox, you wrote, “Keep it going! You've come this far, so you can do it! Perhaps keep going, too, to see how far you can take it? That's what I did, out of curiosity.”... My personal issue was not that I had to fudge a date, it’s the issue that “Yes, Adventure Labs count”, when it’s my experience both last month and this Challenge, that there’s more to this than apparent. It’s also a bit rough to find out that after completing the requirements of the Challenge, you learn that that wasn’t actually the case. Done the mahi (NZ Maori for “work”) didn’t get the expected result. Not my problem. Groundspeak’s problem. Problems were flagged at the start of the Challenge, and IMHO there’s still problems. Congrats Roger Fox on continuing a Streak to 6,000 consecutive days. One of the long-run Streakers in NZ had to finally stop to have a baby! Play the game how you want, but keep the rules consistent. if Adventure Labs are included and are then not, is not “keeping within the rules”.
  5. See my comment, just now I have noticed here in New Zealand if you do an AdLab before 12 Noon it’s dated the previous day; after Noon the actual correct day/date. But I’ve also noted (to my cost) even observing that rule, my AdLab finds didn’t count on the 23rd July, potentially spoiling my Streak.
  6. Another 2 cents worth... Today is the 30th of July in New Zealand, and I got my 28th geocache to achieve the Wheel of Challenges: Streak Star Hard souvenir. It didn’t happen. Checking back I only got 5 AdLabs on the 23rd - no actual geocache. Being Day 21 and a week ago there was no time to correct that situation. So I went back and changed the date of one of my multiple finds on the 22nd to the day later. Now I have been awarded the souvenir for accomplishing the Hard option... Awarded on the 24th! Go figure. I can resolve this with myself as I have been out 28 days in a row in the New Zealand Winter - rain, cold, frosts, rain (9 days of consecutive rain!) - where on a particularly tough day I just got 5 AdLabs which didn’t count! This was a tough Challenge. Tougher even than my previous 198 and 366 day streaks I’ve previously achieved. Mainly due to cleaning out most of the local area out to an hour’s drive. That’s hardly environmentally friendly IMHO! Poorly conceived. Poorly administered. Generally Disappointed!
  7. That seems limited to 1000 finds, and I want to see my finds in 2018 which is not in the first 1000 nor the last 1000
  8. So I’ve geocached 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and today, the 7th (and I’ve found seven caches today, and it was acquired logging the last one). I geocache in New Zealand. We’re ahead of the rest of the world, time-date wise. After my five day streak, I received the ‘Easy’ souvenir today... Acquired on the 8th July! I would point out that nowhere in the world is it the 8th July yet. And by tomorrow my Streak will be at six days. So it’s fixed is it?
  9. “Exactly, they could use their own platform, ie here, they could also use their facebook account. ” Don’t use Facebook either. As I said, “How many Apps do we need to play this game?” Just a game... challenging at times!, but just a game.
  10. Why would that not be published here. Not all of us use Twitter... well I don’t. How many Apps do we need to play this game?
  11. Here in New Zealand I’ve found traditionals on the 3rd, 4th and 5th, and about to go out and get another this morning (6th July), and no souvenir yet. 😒 This is disappointing. I do like the reference above, “I can see the hamsters chortling in the balcony seats saying, "Let's see how high they'll go when we say, 'Jump" " Keep on, keeping on, Phronimos
  12. Does finding Archived geocaches count towards these WoC challenges? I found a local one today, but while it shows on my Found geocaches in my Profile it does not show on the Leaderboard.
  13. I encountered my first Autoresponder Virtual just this last month after ten years geocaching. I had to respond with something like GC8P5AC.ABCABCABCA2016atgmail I thought that was very clever and was pleased I didn’t have to wait for a response from the CO and could correct my answers while still at the location.
  14. Yay! About time this aspect of geocaching was assigned to the same place as Locationless caches, Webcam caches, (and Virtual caches). Other countries have an extensive system of Geodetic marks **but we can't play them as Benchmarks.** Benchmarks provide an opportunity for someone to start an alternative game not associated with geocaching. The first geodetic survey mark in New Zealand was placed in 1848, and it and many thousand others still exist, but we can not publish, or find them as geocaches. There is a similar but alternative to Geocaching Benchmarks in Australia, so, as I say, "Yay to consigning them to legacy caches", or **open them up to world-wide.** Cheers, Phronimos
  15. A year on, this was never answered? This is my issue as well.
  16. Very annoyed I am. At midnight last night New Zealand time I uploaded a pre-prepared log of just under 4000 characters and added to it with a Write note of another 4000 characters. Too tired to upload the photos that go with my log. This morning I go to upload the photos but my log and note have been archived! This is very annoying. How do I appeal to have my original logs un-archived so I can add the photos? Cheers, Phronimos
  17. In New Zealand, purchased from geostuff.com.au no problem. Any idea what the “surprises hidden in the design waiting to be discovered” might be? I suspect it’s something to do with the pixels on the outer edge on the obverse. Cheers
  18. I gather this also applies to steganography info in an image as well as exif. Takes away a few options with Puzzle caches, and renders one of my 2017 geocaches unworkable.
  19. Ok. thanks for the advice. Yes I’m aware it’s a verified email address. Same thing we’ve all been through. Cheers
  20. I’m loathe to change my geocaches to PMO as I’m keen for everybody to be able to play our game; ordinary member and premium; young and able, older and less abled, and disabled; I’d love to create a cache for the blind if I could pull it together, but that’s not the point. Its about apparently Verified members being the possible culprits.
  21. Hi guys, this is about something that concerns me sufficiently to cause me to seek assistance. How do I ask for investigation by GCHQ? I’ve asked my Reviewer who couldn’t help. The first instance has occurred to one of my geocaches, *Pining for Pandas*. A new geocacher joined 11 Nov 2019. The next day ‘they’ found *Pining for Pandas* logging the find with, “haha”. That was the last find of that cache, and the last log of that cache, and it’s missing, goneburger. My next concerns another of my geocachers *BOT Te Henui*... **Another** new member joined 28 Dec 2019, and the following day found my cache with the log of a smiley emoji only. That cache is also missing with no finds or DNFs since. **Both these new geocachers have not cached again!** To me this is not a coincidence. I suspect there may have been a third attempt - on another of my more difficult Trads, *Titanic Error*. Yet another new member signed up 3 Jan 2020. On 9th February they DNF’d *Titanic Error*. That’s their ONLY attempted geocache. I’ve checked and the cache is still there, so I guess their inexperience hindered them on that occasion. I’m concerned because these new geocachers all appear to be Verified with valid emails. The obvious question is, “perhaps they don’t know how to play the game, and are removing it instead of just logging it.” The corresponding answer is this was each their only geocache. Thanks for any help, Phronimos
  22. Please note my newly published event is a North Island, New Zealand event, but the only way I could save changes to the cache listing under the fancy new cache edit page was to change the location to somewhere in USA. So I’ve made my changes as an American cache, and now can’t change it back to NZ NI. Fortunately the cache title says the event is being held in Hawke’s Bay, although apparently that’s in AL USA. I posted an Announcement to remove doubt. Sorry I have nothing positive to say about your new cache edit process
  23. Personally I’m VERY disappointed with the whole new cache listing changes. I always create, then review the finished product, and finally Submit. But now I am not able to edit my newly created cache listing. Yes, I’ve checked the Conditions checkbox, clicked Save and Preview, and my changes are not reflected in the listing. I’ve submitted the cache. Then cancelled the submission, edited, saved and resubmitted - another three times. Now it’s in the Reviewer’s queue again and the listing does not reflect my changes. After 108 hides I am reticent to hide any more. This is SO FRUSTRATING! Also why does an event have to be a T1? I’ve held events with D1/T4 in the past - on the summit of a mountain!
