  1. We each play the game our own way. If being FTF is your thing, more power to ya!
  2. I agree! Another thing to consider is where the final is. If it is a great spot with a great view and a nice hike in and out, why would you limit the number of cachers who would go up there by making it a puzzle? I like to solve puzzles, but I know a lot of cachers who don't. I know someone will read this and say something like "it's their choice not to solve the puzzle, find the cache and enjoy the view". You would be correct, but in the interest of good will, I personally wouldn't do that to someone just because they choose not to solve puzzles. Just saying.
  3. It is your choice. A Multi in a nutshell is where each stage leads you to the next. The stages can be virtual (like your sign with the numbers on it) or physical (some type of container that you place). If you go with Multi, remember the 528 foot rule applies to any physical stages (not virtual). It seems from what I read on your post that this one qualifies. A mystery is pretty much an "all others" category. I would suggest sending an E-mail to your reviewer and get some guidance since it will be up to them whether or not they publish it.
  4. I haven't personally, but I have found caches with containers like this. Don't see any issues with it, but that would depend on the environment. Extreme heat could cause dry rot, cold could crack, ect.
  5. You can and should post it as a find. My suggestion would be to take a photo of yourself with what you found and E-mail it to the CO. Being an AMMO troop, I have ammo cans and depending on the situation, I replace it. I have also been known to replace them with other containers of comparable size as a temporary repair until the CO can get the real replacement out there. If a geocache is in trouble, I help. That's just who I am!
  6. This is the most intelligent post on this whole thread and I couldn't agree with you more! Drama, Drama, Drama! All over a game? All I can say to that is C'MON MAN!! I own several puzzles. If anyone wants the final coords for any of mine, E-mail me lol! P.S. At least 4 of mine are on the FB page. This I know because I recieved an E-mail from the sockpuppet GC account too.
  7. Perhaps people are appreciative of Groundspeak's efforts to promote geocaching and wish to assist them in those endeavors. Groundspeak considers armchair caching "Found It" logs to be "bogus" finds. According to MissJenn, from Groundspeak: "Stating that you must visit the location is not necessary as this is an implicit requirement..." I agree, but my point is that its none of anyone's business unless you are Groundspeak, the CO or the person doing it. ... or people who wish to assist Groundspeak's efforts in promoting geocaching. Dont agree. People don't do it for that reason. They are being nosey poseys. Just happens that people who police others are annoying to me. It clearly shows a "holier than thou" attitude. Something i hate. Don't they have something better to do? There are so many caches out there to find and lots of room to hide more! As a matter of fact, I think I'll bow out of this conversation that really is none of my business and look at GC.com to figure out what caches I can go find when I get off work!! Peace my friends!

  9. You can check the "sign in anonymously" box rather than use a sock puppet account. Either way, I agree that if you are going to say something, have the guts to stand behind it or keep it to yourself. I don't mean to dog you out or anything, but you did say that you wanted to hear opinions.
  10. Why don't they just endorse it for premium and charter members? A relatively easy site upgrade and presto! It could be done right here or on Facebook. I guess what id like to see is to have it legitimized for those who wish to attend and aren't physically able for whatever reason. How is that any different from attending virtual or online college courses?? Of course there will always be those who would abuse it, but you get that with anything.
  11. Did anyone thing to ask Groundspeak to recognize attending events through live streaming? They have feedback sites for doing just that. Many valid arguments could be made in favor of it. Personally, I see no reason why they wouldn't at least consider it, especially since there are many cachers in the military ( including myself) who deploy as stated before. Also what about disabled persons whom it could give something positive to? Personally, I would refrain from doing it until it is allowed, but I have nothing bad to say about those who do simply because what they do is their affair and none of my business. I just wanted to toss that out:)
  12. My first forum post and it's unfortunate that it has to be on this subject. The acronym MYOB comes to mind here. If it is not you armchair logging or it isn't your cache its being done to what business is it of yours? It seems to me that if you have that much extra time to police other people's activities, you have too much time on your hands. Remember that when you point the finger at others, there are usually 3 of them pointing back at you. That includes me with this post, so on that note, I'll go back to minding my own business and leave you guys to yours. Peace to all of you and best of everything in all of your endeavours whatever they may be. Remember that this is a light and fun activity. Anyone who is angry is obviously not having fun and should really look at changing the way they are doing things or quit caching altogether. This is just my humble opinion.
  13. I checked them out and none seem as good as the previous one I mentioned But as another poster said, I dont want to break the TOS, so Ill use the Groundspeak app as I prefer paperless caching. Its a "nice" app but maybe a little different then the one Ive used up to this point. Im sure I'll get used to it, after all its about hunt and find. TFTHelp! You can still use c:geo if you are having trouble with other apps. You just can't connect to GC.com, load any cache details or log your find from it. Get the coords, hints and descriptions from the caches you want to find from GC.com, go the the "Any Destination" screen and manually input the GPS Coordinates and navigate to it as you usually do. After you find it, go to the website and log your find from there. It is a temporary fix and very cumbersome, but if you don't have a GPS, it can keep you cachin' till you can get one. I have one coming from Amazon and that is what I'm doing till I receive it Hope that helps.
