  1. This help..... http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=ba1978f9-afef-4efb-8cca-8ea4f7e0d6bd
  2. Good luck, it is up to each cacher to determine if they have the skills to retrieve a cache.
  3. From page 14 of the manual When a geocache is found, the unit marks the cache as found, log an entry in to the calender and provides an option that shows the nearest cache. So when you mark the cache as found, it adds an entry to the calender on the unit. NOT on GS website. You still have to go home and log all your finds.
  4. Congrats..... next time your in the neighborhood I will bring ya caching....
  5. If you do not figure it out by using the PDF come over to http://www.eXploristforum.com and there are several users there that will be more than willing to help you out or feel free to email me at Email me at Zukicacher@gmail.com David Magellan Insider Seeing that you "work for the enemy" , do you know if there is such a group for "the other side"? Ya know the one that starts with G and ends with N..
  6. Here is the PDF for your unit. http://www.gpscentra...ExploristGC.pdf
  7. All was good with mine until 2.6-ISH...... from that point forward I have had to to turn off GLONASS AND WASS / EGNOS.........
  8. Thank you, THANK YOU!!! I AM a bloomin' idiot!!! I saw that "mark" on top - but did not think it was a button! My problem is solved... my GPSr works!!! (I knew I was an idiot all along... that's just the way I roll!) Thank you ALL for your help and suggestions! Glad I could be of some help AND have the correct answer ....
  9. What what wha...... your key board does NOT have an any key.........
  10. Screen up in your hand the power button should be on the right side. On top of the unit. Have you tried plugging it in to your computer ?
  11. Go to the trackable page and pull it out of the cache.
  12. Should check THIS CACHE out. If you are in the area stop by and check it out.
  13. A few spare pens...... maybe a set of fresh batteries.....insect wipes Kid friendly items..... I seldom take / trade swag...... travelers are a different story........
  14. There should be an asterisk after the "100 feet is fine". 100 feet is fine as long as that 100 feet doesn't move it too close to another physical cache or stage of a multi. (Edit to wording for clarification) OH this I know and should have added that. Trust me when I say there is NO OTHER cache in this area.....Look for your selves....
  15. I am partial to the Garmin's..... Micro SD slot...... = more maps ..... happy camper....
  16. Can you describe to us how you're getting the Pocket Query onto your GPS? Are you just dragging-and-dropping the GPX file onto the device? You can do that ...... ......
  17. As mcoppel said a 10 will do that just fine. A 20 will do it better... and as you find your self wanting to do more you will have the ability to do so....
  18. Still gonna sit on the side lines....... and see how this plays out.
  19. These words are from a reviewers keyboard. "100 feet is fine. Anything over 527 feet would require a review to help out." I "might" be having an issue with the area I placed my first cache.....
  20. Well I just saw this. I see you are a premium member, you should be able to see this info on your GPS. These pics I used else where on these forums..... You get here from the menu button...
  21. LOVE IT..... my sister is about an hour from "the area" is now on her "to cache list(s)"...
  22. I once had a nano that was cross threaded. I attempted 2 pairs of pliers, I would have destroyed the container before it opened. 1 of 2 logs I have never signed. The second, I lost my pen on the way in to the cache and had pictures to prove my find. The CO let me use those until I get back to the area to sign the log.
  23. I would save up the extra bucks and get an eTrex 20....
  24. Have you tried to load a PQ on your Dakota ? Have you tried to "send to GPS function for a single cache (from the cache page) ?
  25. Wouldn't it be safer to just go to the waypoint manager and Menu>Delete All to get rid of waypoints? I've got limited experience with caches, but I just downloaded a cache and found it was a GPX in the Garmin folder (along with Current.gpx). When I deleted the cache from the Garmin folder it also disappeared from my Etrex. I didn't delete the Current.gpx and I didn't touch the \Garmin\GPX folder. FWIW I didn't "find" the cache, just loaded it and deleted it. Maybe if I wanted to delete up to 5 caches I would go this route. If I wanted to free a large amount of space I would go the route I mentioned. After many years of hard and heavy work, I want smarter not harder
