  1. Nice mod, between 2 post got it working GREAT here in the USoA. Now he has to re-learn his GPSr.......
  2. I did a search for caches in the area and didn't find an geocaches listed on Healy, Rd. Since the log book is empty it's possible that the geocache is not yet published. How long ago did your letterbox go missing? If it's been more than a few days it could be a cache that was placed (I *really* hope someone didn't try placing a cache there and decided that your letterbox was "in the way"), the reviewer would not publish it, and the person that put it there hasn't bother to retrieve the geocache. Since it's on Conservation Land Trust property it very well could be that the reviewer denied publishing it because typically geocaches are not allowed to be placed on conservation land trusts. The cache name is also leads me to think that it might be part of a series (TBWS #1, #2, etc) and there is another small series nearby. You might even find that if you searched a bit about 528' down the road you might find TBWS #4 or TBWS #6 (half-joking...). I'd do a search using the Hide and Seek a Cache page (My link) in a couple of days and see if any new geocaches show up. Then you can send the cache owner a message and ask what's up? If no new caches show up you can also send an email message to the local reviewer. Here's a link for what appears to be the local reviewer: Massechusets Volunteer Reviewer. They would know if someone tried to have a cache published at the location of your letterbox. I would suspect that most geocachers are aware of Letterboxing, and in fact there is a letterbox hybrid geocache tpe (though they're not very common). However, a geocacher should never, ever, remove an existing letterbox or even another geocache in order to place their own geocache in the same location. I hope that this incident does not sour your opinion of geocaching. Madmin Very nice guy to deal with. Both of my caches are in Mass. I am sure he will help you out, if he can. *whisper* MadMin is a she. Ya know, I thought about this last night after I posted it, I should have put person, because I did NOT know . PS if you are MadMin I am sorry.....

  4. Solve a puzzle, create a way point enter coords, save. Then do your normal thing ? Or edit a way point that is in your GPSr
  5. Day, month, year correct. Time correct. Found 6 caches today, calender shows 0 found. Log attempt >found>find next closest cache. The only difference is today after the last cache, instead of hitting done I told it to find the parking way point. Anyone else having or notice this issue ? V2.7 software.
  6. There have been many threads with this same issue. Seems to be an issue with Magellan communicator. You are a premium member, just do a pocket query.
  7. I must say I have had great luck with a spray that is 40% DEET. I went deep in the heart of the beast Lyme CT this past weekend and came out tick free. I went out again on Sunday with the same clothes, same coating of deet on my skin and walk away tick free....
  8. My sister is going to start hers here in the northeast and have it travel south along the AT, then work its way out towards Alaska. 2 things on her bucket list......
  9. I simply stated in the log that my wife found a few caches while I was caching in another area. GS made out on that deal, 2 people bought premium apps for the dumb phones AND bought premium memberships. for a year....... I have not received any flak for logging caches in different states on the same day.....
  10. OK I have acquired a second GPSr really cheap, as a bonus it came with Garmin 100K TOPO maps DVD. I have gotten them loaded on my eTrex 20 VIA a 2 gig micro SD card. (A LOT easier than I thought it would be.) Is there a way for me to over lay some trail maps on to my unit ? TIA
  11. TR_S..... Does your unit remember the goto toward a set waypoint after a reboot. Like when you are going to a cache, and lets say you have to replace weak batteries, you gps does NOT remember which cache you were going to....
  12. Make sure you are not enter wrong characters.. such as "oh" and it is not a "zero" and such....
  13. Does any one know of a complete book mark list(s) of caches along the AT, Appalachian Trail ?
  14. OH and I must add the 1 have logged and not signed, I will be returning to sign, when I go through the area.
  15. I have 1 cache that I have logged as a find, with out a sig on the log. I email/posted photos as proof of the find. I lost my pen on the way to the cache. I still have to go back through the area with a caching buddy to help him with a rapping cache. Then there is this cache, which was a rapping cache, made the decent, searched and searched NO cache. My buddy made the rap, same NO cache. Reported it as a DNF, CO verified no cache, replaced it. Said we could change the DNF to a smiley. Think I did ?
  16. Congrats !!!!!! You have a new addiction...... I hate to be the one to tell you the bad news..it can NOT be cured
  17. I will have to go get a photo, but a baseball field, with a sign, No playing ball allowed.....
  18. Yesterday, 1 P&G cache side of road, out to cache ~25 feet back to car. 23 ticks....... under 2 minutes....... and that was JUST ME .
  19. I just bought it for the first time tonight. I had been using the Coleman, with good results.
  20. Permethrin, Coleman 40% DEET, REPEL SPORTSMAN MAX 40% DEET 1st for your clothes, either of the second for your skin.
  21. I am going to make one, and have it placed over seas and see if it can make its way home to me.
  22. I found it via a Google search, to a post here in the forums...... The Google and I have a great relationship....
