One tradition we've had since we got married 26 years ago is when it's someones birthday everyone takes care of the birthday boy/girl. We have whatever meals he/she wants for the day, watch whatever shows they want, no arguring/fighting allowed. The night before, everyone makes up a sign wishing the birthday person a happy birthday and hang them around the house. Basically making sure they get a very special day at least once a year. We do it for each one of our children and now are doing it for each of our grandchildern.
Chris from Team Shydog gave me my first coin knowing I didn't have any and didn't ask for any in return. That started me down the road to coin collecting. I've met some very nice and very interesting people in the last three years of geocaching/ coin collecting. Because of Chris' kindness I too have given coins to 'newbies' with no thoughts of ever getting one back. In doing so I have made some great friends and am glad I started collecting the coins.
I have always liked the non-trackable, personal coins better over the trackables just because it seems people put more of themselves into them then the trackables.
After reading the whole thread I have to say, this sounds like the start of a good joke:
A penguin, a dragon and a pig floating around on a nice big North Atlantic block of ice... with a shark swimming circles...........

Hey Rod, I picked up the coin I won from you in the Todie cointest and was proud to see Geopigs AND MaxB had it already! I'll be putting it out again soon so it can keep spreading the message.
Thanks again!
