  1. i'm not any less honest or diligent because i'm a "regular cacher." i don't understand your logic. i don't have a lot of money...so i'm more likely to "muggle" a cache. That's not true. The swag isn't good enough to steal! Haha.
  2. Isn't this site supported by the ads on it? i thought that's how sites remained free like Google and CrackBerry. If not, then i *really* appreciate those who are paying so i can play for free! Although i did buy the BlackBerry app at $19.99. If Premium Membership was a one time fee, i'd buy it. i just don't make enough to budget towards this. Maybe in the future! Not trying to be nasty but let's do the math. $30/52weeks=58¢per week How much did you spend on coffee or and/od Mt.Dew (or whatever) last week? It's seriously cheap for the entertainment buck. Great Answer! That's why i don't buy a membership. Yes, it's less than that coffee and soda but we have to chose what we put our money towards, right! Being vegan is expensive (very expensive relative to my income). i have to really be selective what i spend my income on. Healthy food (and my ethos) is more important to me. Like i said previously, that caching is free is a major draw for me. If i *had* to buy the membership, i wouldn't cache. i would be really disappointed if that was the case. But also, there's just so many free caches that i can't complain about PMO caches at all. i would be against them if they were the majority. i don't think this website would shut down if all there weren't Premium Members. The sales and ads are enough. The mods and reviewers are volunteers. The players come up with the content. The site hosts it.
  3. i don't have a lot of finds. i haven't found the PMO caches to be any better or worse than regular caches. i haven't found a cache i didn't like though...it's all fun.
  4. if that's what you think, where do you think the money from all the PMs goes? Corporate greed? Same place as where the money goes when someone buys an $11 sticker that took .50 cents to make. i don't really know. Making a few bucks is not an evil thing. Of course not! That's capitalism! i'm just glad i can play for free! It's part of what i like about this game. i used to spend time in nature for free...now i have things to search for while i'm there!

  7. It is now but a good question. Maybe PMO caches will be done away with.
  8. i won't become a premium member when i can play for free. i don't like to spend a lot on recreation. i don't mind the PMO caches though if that's what the CO wants. i get those caches for free on my BlackBerry app anyway without even knowing they are PMO until after i logged it. Even if i didn't get those free, having PMO caches would not entice me to become a Premium Member. There's so many free caches!
  9. Mine might be the first ammo can without swag then. i'm leaning towards just a FTF prize (VISA gift card) and no swag. i will have to ask the local reviewer if that's acceptable.
  10. Interesting thread. i've come to dislike any SWAG of any kind. Some has been junk, some nice items but i don't like taking any. Just creeps me out. i have left SWAG in te first 10 caches i found because i had trinkets that had meaning to me and i thought i *had* to leave something. When i hide my first cache it will be an ammo can or similar size since i live in a small town with woodsy spots. Do i *have* to fill it with SWAG? Can i just leave a log? Or is that against rules or etiquette?
  11. Does anyone know of any parks within 15 miles of Cocoa Beach that is a little more scenic (trails etc) *and* has many caches? Thanks!
  12. That's awesome! i'm going to get one for my subaru! So, do you dip the car bug into each cache you find? Or is it just for other cachers to find?
  13. i'm still new so relatively few injuries so far. The other day i had a run in with what i think is a Florida Poisonwood Tree. On contact my arm broke out in a painful red rash, then blisters started popping up. It felt like bees stinging me. i did get freaked out and left for home right away. After a few hours the rash disappeared and the blisters were just red marks! Strange! 3 days later i have an itcy rash where the stinging was and it's on other places now too, my ankle, elbow, knee. They don't burn, just itch so i can deal with that. i'm glad i didn't stick my face in the tree! Ouch!
  14. i like posting pics of cache containers. i hope that isn't considered a spoiler. i assume the CO's will email me if they want any pics removed. It seems to me there's a fine line when posting pics! And various CO's may feel differently about what pics are posted. Thanks for this thread. i'd rather an email asking me to remove pic rather than a CO just deleting my log.
  15. i've not run into any other cachers and i'm not sure i ever will! It seems most of the caches i find in my town were placed in 2008, early 2009. Many haven't been logged in a few months i'm about 2 years late to run in to anyone! i'd like to run into a local cacher though. There's one cache that has too many cobwebs for my taste and i need a cobweb clearer! lol
  16. I agree with you 100%, and by the way, I'm glad you're still here!! Thanks
  17. What does it mean if a cache has a "mine"? i'm not sure how it was rigged. But i stepped on something, felt a pull and the palm tree shook and sounded like a flock of birds flew out of it!
  18. i like the variety i've found in geocaching so far. i like easy with hard hike, nice views, parking lots, micros, ammo cans, HIPS etc. i don't mind bison tubes in the woods. At least with those i don't have to dig around in the muddy pine needles!
  19. Actually, since i started caching i've decided to get pepper spray. In my town, many caches are after a little hike and usually in more isolated area in the woods or FL shrubs. A few times i have stopped and thought about my car sitting less than a mile from me, alerting others i'm nearby and possibly alone in the woods. So pepper spray is a good move for me. i'm not sure if i'd be as scared if someone jumped out at me in a city rather than in the woods, but i imagine so. i hope the OP would have enough sense not to try and scare a female alone. Even if he wants the attention...it's not very cool.
  20. i really like "The Others." Big Lost fan. i don't know much about Harry Potter so i didn't know the term Muggles was made popular from the books/movies until i looked it up after a few caches. i think i'm going to change all the caching terms to Lost terms. Nice ideas!
  21. i would hate to be surprised at a cache! Nor would i want my picture taken without my knowledge. That's just creepy. If some guy jumped out at me when i was searching for his cache i'd probably stop looking for that person's cache. Maybe report them. i was searching for a cache today that had a "mine." It really startled me and made me uneasy. Although i was expecting something because it was stated in the cache description. i do appreciate that. But even that put me on edge. i like caching to relax, not be shocked or startled. That's my preference.
  22. I would. Especially if I caught you on my lawn! Haha! Then i'd cry and go hide in your hedges. Maybe find a cache there too. Then offer you swag as a peace offering.
  23. Yes, it is hard to tell. Probably most forum people are nice in person. They most likely wouldn't insult me right to my face, i hope!
  24. Ah ha, i knew it! Whenever i go out caching i think everyone who is looking for something or using a BlackBerry is caching too! So far, none have been. Thanks for revealing the truth to me!
  25. Thanks for the email address. Na, i don't want to complain. i have more important things to focus on. i'm looking forward to meeting other cachers in real life!
