  1. Another trick with the legend is using the trackback feature to find your way back to the car. When you start out from the car, reset the trip computer and head on your way to the cache. After you find it, Go to the main menu on the GPSr, select "tracks", save the current track, and select "trackback" at the bottom of the screen, select "to beginning" and the unit will take you right back to where you started.
  2. I would take a look at the parafoil-style kites. No sticks allows them to fold up into a small package, you can fit several into a standard cache container.
  3. OK...........Thanks to all for your patience, I finally figured it out. I'm just a little slow.
  4. UPDATE for new forums: If you make changes to your profile on Geocaching.com, you will need to click on the "discuss geocaching" link on Geocaching.com while logged in for your forum profile to update. This includes avatars, signature lines, titles (for premium members), passwords, and your username. The register link in the forums will also redirect you to the page that updates your profile. Is this still accurate? I don't see a "discuss geocaching" link on the geocaching.com homepage.
  5. One more time...........
  6. I have a gtrex legend that that seems to be flaky when trying to press the enter/clickstick down function. Is the clickstick the problem? Can I fix it myself or do I need to send it in? Thanks Mike
  7. OK, so I need some help. I try to change the name/legend for my avatar but every time I post, it only shows my screen name. What am I doing wrong?
  8. still having issues with names
  9. can I try mine? having some size/border issues.
  10. I have an RSS link on my homepage so I can see if there are any new posts. Every once in awhile I'll click over and take a look at any interesting threads, but I don't tend to jump in unless I can add to the discussion. I'm too new to the sport to be answering questions so until I know ALOT more, I'll just be watching and learning.
  11. If you place a few with a challenge that you think you would enjoy, I'm sure others would enjoy them too. Just don't make them so challenging only you could find them.
  12. Thanks for the response. I have used pocket queries but I was hoping there was a way to download them directly from from a list. I can generate a list of nearby caches while viewing the details of a specific cache. You can select the caches you are interested in by putting a check in each box on the far right of the list. You can then download the waypoints, but can you also download the waypoint details, or is that only possible through pocket queries?
  13. I have been trying to download waypoints and the associated details. I am having no trouble downloading the waypoints in .loc format, but I cannot figure out how to get the details in ebook format. Can anyone help?
  14. I just returned from a trip yesterday with my GPSr in my carry-on luggage. Had no problems going through security at either airport. It works fine on the plane as long as you have a window seat. They are listed in the back of the airline magazine as acceptable electronic devices to use during flight.
  15. So, I interpret the use of "Muggles" as we're all magic and they aren't? I don't buy it.
