  1. I'd love to get a coin from mlrs1996, but I already got one from Penny and Kona. If you want to give me one that would be great, but you'll probably want to give priority to those that haven't received coins through "Pay it Forward" yet. My coin from Penny and Kona has been in someone's hands for over 2 weeks now. I'm so impatient. I'd love to have a second coin so I can watch it travel from another place.
  2. When you post your "found it" log at the bottom you will see an option to drop the travel bug.
  3. I love to hear about trackables that turn up after being missing.
  4. It looks like Penny and Kona has been MIA for the last week. I think she has two left that should go to L_Y_H and Hilbilly_Ern. Then I think someone else had a set to be adopted. Be patient and I'm sure Penny and Kona will be back sometime soon.
  5. Haha, I just bought a 48 for a dollar bag of army men. I've been putting a few in every cache that is big enough.
  6. I want free coins too!
  7. Be careful. One item per tracking number allowed. Or risk it being locked. I thought it was ok to have a tracking number on multiple items as long as they are not being released.
  8. I'd like to have a TB T-shirt made. If I do I'm going to use the same tracking code that is on my vehicle cling. I already use it to track my miles from cache to cache. I'd like to see the TB logo on the T-shirt though.
  9. I had a slump of 240 days. I made 2 finds last summer and then my life got busy and I forgot about geocaching for a while. In the last month I've rediscovered geocaching and I'm up to 20 finds now.
  10. Want to send me one of your geocoins. <---Big Smile If I find stuff that is defiantly trash I usually take it out of the cache. I usually leave stuff like old happy meal toys though. I've also taken a few bottles of bubble solution because I've heard these leak and make a mess in caches.
  11. Sometimes CO just post a note when they do maintenance which doesn't clear the "needs maintenance" attribute. So the cache is ok but the needs maintenance attribute remains.
  12. I know many cachers have sig items that they leave in the caches they visit. What is yours? What does it look like? Post a picture.
  13. Try this: http://www.geocaching.com/adopt/
  14. I'm not sure when a cache legally becomes litter, but in my opinion if a cache is unpublished or archived for a "reasonably long" period of time, it becomes trash and should be removed. As for what's a reasonably long period of time....I'd say 3-4 weeks, but everyone will have their own opinion on this.
  15. I just found a cache in my area that had the "needs maintenance" attribute. I looked through the logs to see why and had to go back through a bunch of finds all the way to last August. Someone posted a "needs maintenance" because a TB was missing. That's the right idea but an improper use of the NM log in my opinion. It should have been posted as a note instead.
  16. Any kind of memory card TB will eventually end up filled with porn and viruses. I'd say it's not a good idea.
  17. I have a TB that I use to track my miles from cache to cache. It's really a vehicle cling with the copy tag on my GPSr. I want to make a t-shirt or hat someday using the tracking number. Basically I am the travel bug
  18. If you find that a trackable is missing when you visit a cache, do you post a note on the trackable's page to let the owner know? I've found a number of trackables that are in the cache's inventory but are not in the cache. I always mention the missing TBs in my cache log and I write a note on the trackable's page. I've seen some that have been missing for more than a year and I was the first one to post a note letting the owner know. What do you know when you find that a trackable is missing?
  19. My new coin, TB2FEJ3, has started moving! How exciting! Thanks Penny and Kona!
  20. I'm new to Geocaching too. (I have 10 finds.) I did this to the first TB I picked up. I put it in a ziplock bag and included a printed info sheet from the website. I figured without the info sheet the finder won't know the TB's goal unless they check the website. They also might not recognize it as a TB and take it as swag. I thought I was being helpful. I'm eager to see how more experienced cachers answer this question.
  21. Adoption Request Acceped Thanks Penny and Kona! I can't wait to see my new geocoin travel. Hopefully it'll make it to my hometown. I'll be sure to pay it forward someday. Here is this geocoins page if you want to watch it travel: TB2FEJ3
  22. I'd like to adopt a geocoin! I'm pretty new to geocaching. I got 2 finds last summer and recently got back into it. I found on cache and half of a multi-cache a few days ago. I have a a travel bug that travels with me and I picked up my first the other day. I'm planning to leave it in a cache near an airport because it wants to go to Europe. I'd love to have a geocoin to watch as it travels!
  23. Yes, I believe you "discover" a TB if you see it, but don't take it.
