They sell 2 dozen for $4.95 plus shipping. They have a variety of colors to choose from. I have always been happy with my orders from Oriental Trading. That's exactly what I am looking for. Just something plain and simple. Looks like they are even on sale right now for $3.95. Looks like they also sell 2” x 3 3/4” 20-Pg. Notepads. Those would probably work great in plastic decon containers that I have used for several mini caches. The pads I have in their now are too big and people have a hard time closing them. beatnik

  3. I was thinking about getting some custom Pencils to put in my caches and caches that I find. I've been thinking about it for a long time now. I finally got around to looking online for suppliers after I saw one that webling left in a cache near me last week. So far I can only find ones that want to sell me quantities of 500+. Anyone know where I can get a reasonable amount of pencils or pens that are custom printed say 50-200. Didn't find this topic while searching but figured it might be a good discussion rather than just emailing Webling who will probably read this anyway. (PS thanks for the geocoin! I'll move it soon) beatnik

  5. Has anyone tried or been successful in recycling bugs. I won't go through the typical sob story about a bug being lost we've had plenty of disscussion on that matter. What is geocaching.com's policy on this. After all we purchased the bugs. Does that mean we technically own the bug's number? Is it wrong to send out an exact replacement for your lost item with an attached card rather than the lost dog tag? beatnik

I've found a few tracts and some bibles in the caches around here as well. I found one utterly fungified (is that a word) picture of the vigin mary in one cache that had become wet. beatnik

  9. 1) Just how rough is the road to the location. Normal Oklahoma dirt road? Or is it rutted out pretty bad? Pictures? 2) I have some spare unsued bugs. Will donate a travel bug to the cause if we can come up with a good item. 3) Is there going to be a bonfire or just a grill? I can provide some fire extinguishers if you want me to bring some. 4) How big is the cache container going to be? 5) Do I ask to many questions ? beatnik

  11. I got the following e-mail from a helpful cacher in regards to my bug Psitol Pete. http://www.geocaching.com/track/track_detail.asp?ID=5568 quote:After looking at the logbook, it seems that pistol pete traveler was picked up on 4-28-02, by a family that obviously forgot to log the visit. The logbook was signed Clay, Kaleb, Kameron, Di, Chelsie, Vance, Judy, and G-man. They id'd themselves as Geotrackers from Norman, but there was no other contact information. They took pistol pete and left a japanese keychain, four quarters, and a new ink pen. Anyone in the OKC area with information on these cachers or anyone who spots Pete, please let me know. Thanks beatnik
  12. Nothing is worse than a bug listing for a cache you are watching. The bug comes and goes before you can even see what the bug was. With no way to find it. If someone brings and takes the bug without leaving it in the cache you never get to see it's page. A bug search engine is one of the complaints brought up at both of the geocachers meetings we have had in the last two months. beatnik

  14. This bug came from Rhode Island. I took it around Tulsa and made a trip with it to Kansas. Then I took it to OKC where it hopped to Utah and then on to the Taj Mahal. 10,207.8 and counting according to the page. I guess it pretty much migrated the world as desired. http://www.geocaching.com/track/track_detail.asp?ID=2416 beatnik
  15. There is one in Edmond, OK in a similar vein. There is a story about a dog named Moonshine attached to a tree with an old dog collar. It is an old wooded lot in an undeveloped area. According to the story the dog is buried there. The cache is hidden in the area, and the story is kind of a bonus virtual cache. beatnik

  17. Our meeting in Tulsa is tommorrow. I plan to discuss the Spring Fling. I'll see how many are interested and I may cancel the next month's meeting to encourage more people to come. beatnik

  19. quote:Originally posted by GatoRx: It scared the crap out of me when it happened, but its a funny story to tell in hindsight. I was at a cache site in my area that is a small skinny park. It has a paved trail that borders a major road and a wooded area. The wooded area is sandwiched between the paved trail and a golf course. I had taken way to long to find the cache and had to get out of town. It was getting dark when I came rambling down a hill towards the trail. I burst out of the woods with my GPS in hand. Right in front of me was a young slim lady with bags of stuff from the store. I scared her half to death. She jumped back and went running down the sidewalk. I think she thought I was going to attack and rape her. I didn't even know she was there until I heard her gasp. She was gone before I could say I was sorry. I laughed really hard about it later but I'm sure she didn't think it was too funny. beatnik
