  1. Just ran across this today: Adventure Pass No Longer Required in Portions of Southern California National Forests (Newsroom Link) Palomar District Map Other Areas
  2. I went to the Cedar Creek Falls trailhead early this morning to find all trails leading to the falls have been closed, as explained by the sheriff. A search and rescue team was in full force looking for the missing hiker reported the night before at around 7:42pm. Just before noon today the body of a young male was recovered from the falls, an apparent drowning. This is a very sad day for the family who just lost a loved one. I think it might be awhile before I head back down to the falls.
  3. "Cutting the mustard" from Urban dictionary.com Term: cut the mustard Definition: "Get it up." By extension, perform any challenging act. Example: Those evangelists would be more convincing if they could cut the mustard.
  4. Maybe the same person can't retrieve the bug more than once in a year (or once only ever!), or place it in a cache where you can only log it found once (can't go to the cache if you've logged the cache already?) This could help mix it up a bit and get some of those "unknown" cachers out of the woodwork. Since it's Yrium's first anniversary since his passing maybe it would be a good idea to start YMS #2 to mark and celebrate this annual event of remembering Yrium? (even though he is remembered all the time) Just some thoughts and my 2 cents.... Cheers and congrats J&J.
  5. I say "cut the mustard" all the time, I guess it rubbed off on me somewhere down the line, but I have no idea where the expression came from. the strange part is that it seems like mustard would be pretty easy to cut.... I've got "cut the cheese" TM'ed

  13. I'm eating lunch at my desk but I forgot my GPS. But I didn't need it last time! Edit: The card is being dropped off somewhere in the small area west of 5 between La Jolla and Point Loma. So I'm out of this race! I'm watching but not sure if I'll be able to make the run....I'm in Sorrento Valley. I always carry a spare GPS in my backpack when I drive the cycle in. Hmmmm OB or La Jolla? Cheers PW
