  1. Thanks John...this "Young Squid" looks forward to having one with the "Old Squid". thanks for serving!
  2. Hey...You owe me...I am the one who provoked you into good beer...and saved your sorry Squid! butt from the piss you were drinking!
  3. Hey Bandits!... You may want to move this one over to the San Diego events forum...
  4. I would like them a lot better if the owner came out and offered me a cold beer! I'll go put the garage door remote in our "backyard cache" so the next finder can have some of John's cold beer. (He doesn't need it anyways in Nevada). And no..it's not MGD..he's got VB in the garage!!! Way tooooo much info... I don't want to know if some old NAVY guy has VD or where he got it!!
  5. I would like them a lot better if the owner came out and offered me a cold beer! Now you're Talking. I was thinking of putting one in FATTBOYS front yard he always has beer in his garage frig. Given that FATTBOY put one in your front yard (well close enough, anyway) it'd only be fair... And that was not the first cacher that he bestowed a FYC on!
  6. Your plan does have some merit however comma it sounds like more work to me. I have only had 1 cache not be approved...so I would now have to go twice??? And even if I had to go retrieve one 50% of the time...that would be allot easer the having to go twice every time.
  7. You only scratched the surface...you left out some of north county's worst!... My opinion is: I don't like them...and I think the ones that do not state, in the description, that it is there house or that they have permission, should be archived. I loved the one that is 40' down a driveway (big red ammo can visible from the street) and the listing says you don't need to enter the driveway. Another good one is the one next to some one else's driveway (they don't know about it I guess) because they followed us for half of a mile and wrote down duncan's! license plate number when we stopped.
  8. BZ! to you and all of the other new stoners!
  9. TM and I went down...the camp was still warm guess we just missed you!
  10. Hey Welcome!!!!! You guys truly are cache Bandits!!! And great ones at that!!! You have only been caching a few weeks and you already scammed an FTF on an unlisted cache!!! Soooo every one else knows what I am talking about.... My wife and I hid a cache (in Julian) on Sunday (while staying in a B&. On our way out of Julian, on Tuesday, we stopped by the new (unlisted) cache to drop off a better log... when I puled out the old log...it had "The Glamis Bandits!" on it dated Sunday the 15th. Now I am wondering if they are watching me or if they have supper powers Regardless You guys rock and I look forward to the rest of the story We saw you standing next the cache holding up your GPS when we drove by. We where on our way down the hill to another cache. On our back we stopped to investigate the area, guess what we found. I tried to log it in but I couldnt remember the name of the cache. I did get couple of pictures of the Bandits holding the cache. It has not been published it yet...it will be called "2nd Anniversary Cache (Wikiup)" You are the FTF...BZ You pulled off a great move!!!

  12. I think the topic is about geocaches on people’s front lawns, not your asinine beliefs about handgun owners. Dude...this is a friendly debate... Why are you attacking people that do not hold to your beliefs???
  13. A generalization? Try ‘stereotype’, and not an accurate one at that. I’m not a member, but I know a lot of people who are, and they are all honest upstanding folks. Would a Triple-A member run them down with their car? WOW...calm down dude...he apologized...please don't lynch him!
  14. Un-archived after an extended period of time is really just a new cache in the old ones location. These bookmarks may help; Oldest unarchived cache in the state. First cache placed in the State. It was removed do to fire-danger....not muggled. In the proses of returning the original container. So I guess with your thinking ...that any cache that has been muggled should be archived and a new cache listed????
  15. See my prior post on how the first 100 or so caches were listed. Illinois comes before Kansas in the alphabet. Oh, but Washington and Oregon caches were at the front of the alphabet. An interesting geohistoric quirk. This is the oft-mentioned in these forums web page with the first 100 caches by date placed, without regard to Waypoint name The world's first 100 geocaches There is however, one discrepency that I know of, and it's in Lep's neck of the woods (sort of). GC184 was placed 9/21/2000, but not reported to this website until January 2001. The oldest active cache in California (GC5B) is listed as archived.
  16. I have done (but have not logged) some of the caches you are talking about...one of them the neighbors followed us for about a mile...we stopped...they came back and wrote down our license plate. Another says it is in the bushes and NO need to enter the drive way...was about to leave when we saw the cache...25' away...down the drive way on the edge of a bush. I agree with you 100% all front yard caches should be banned. Yes I have done some great caches at peoples houses...but the new ones are not great...they are dangerous...with poor coords and poor placement...not to mention a total disregard for peoples neighbors. Have fun and happy caching!
  17. Wow...I would say that that is the best HB pic I have ever seen...BZ and please post more!
  18. BZ to all and to "Piglit9!" who hit #400 today!!!
  19. Very sorry to hear that. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Sorry to hear about your dad, Harmon.... Thanks very much for the good wishes. Basic issue is congestive heart falure at ninety-three years of age. Side effect this time around was fluid in his chest cavity making it hard for him to breath for the past week. Diuretic medicine into his IV reduced the fluid so that his breathing is somewhat normal once again. He'll get diuretic pills along with the other eight or nine pills he takes each day. Bottom line is that we took him to the hospital for a three-day pee and that dried out his chest cavity. Ain't medical science wonderful? So was he delighted to feel better? As soon as I brought him home he lit up a huge cigar, a twice-a-day ritual along with a daily shot of whiskey. What else could you expect from an old horse-cavalry, mechanized cavalry, airborne trooper? Born in 1913 for crying out loud, in a west Texas dugout with dirt floor and sod roof. His family moved from Fluvana to Clayton Texas in an ox-drawn covered wagon, no foolin'. Seems like I'm the one that's wasted from three days beside his bed in that danged visitor's chair. Life is good, Harmon We wish you and your Father well...please let us know if we can help! David and Sumrall
  20. That would really stink, but with the explosion of caches out there, I would not be surprised. Most of the explosion of Caches are not in the ABDSP they are in the Off Road Area and BLM areas of Ocotillo Wells. If this becomes true, we (SDGeocachers) should meet with them and present some guidelines we Geocachers will abide by if we’re allowed to continue to hide and seek caches in the park. We could show them the agreements with SDRP and even arrange a CITO event to show we care about the park. I’m sure all those flower lovers leave trash just like everyone else. (I wonder if they would ban flowers from the park) It’s all politics and sometimes one has to play along. Anyone who has listed a cache in ABDSP has gotten a Reviewer Note from Marko Ramius that reads like this: Hello there. I just reviewed your new cache and it appears that it has been placed within the boundaries of the Anza Borrego Desert State Park (“ABDSP”). The following special guidelines must be met before a cache within ABDSP can be approved: 1. Caches must be placed within 50 feet of authorized trail. 2. No caches permitted within 200 feet of an historic or archeological site. 3. No caches permitted in, on or under any building, structure or manmade object. 4. Caches cannot be buried. 5. No cutting or modification of vegetation. 6. No modifying of geologic features, i.e., no moving rocks, hiding under rocks or creating cairns. Please respond to this issue by either posting a Reviewer Note to this page or sending me an e-mail at markoramius.ro@gmail.com. If you send an e-mail, please don’t forget to include the GCxxxx code for the cache. Unless I hear from you in the next couple days, I will archive this listing to remove it from the queue. But don’t worry, I can always un-archive it once the issues have been addressed. Thank you for your understanding and for your contributions to the sport. Marko Ramius Volunteer Cache Reviewer My understanding is that MR will not list any cache in ABDSP without the cache owner confirming that all of these additional guidelines have been met... Those are the same requirements we had last year. The biggest concern was the cairns. It turns out there are cairns created by Indians, and cairns created by geocachers. We don't want the Rangers moving our rock piles just because they think they are built by Indians, do we? Just hide an ammo can near the well established trails, and stay away from the Indians. We are lucky they are still letting us play our game out there. Let's try to follow Any and All guidelines they establish. Dang... I thought I was in the San Diego Thread...but some how I must be in a vortex that has taken me to the SO. Cal. web site??? Can any of you scientist solve this for me?
