  1. We'll all meet in Vicksburg, MS @ 8:00am tomorrow, head north from there...see ya!
  2. Amen! That's the end of it ... right? Hell no. It's way too simple for buyers because you also have to get up at 3am, or stay up until 4am, know the right person, join the club before the deadline, have an inside for the 'members only', click correctly on a paypal link while it's crashing, bid on eBay in the 0.5 second time frame, pay when you order, order 3 times for each LE of one coin edition, email the special password and code posted in page 3 of 14 pages of dicussion, look for the link on page 7 of 22 and not hit the fake link posted by some helpful cacher that can cause you to lose out on that 30 second window, watch 22 different cache pages, pre-order on every coin discussion JIC that ends up being a pre-order thread even though they said it wouldn't be, watch 200 threads about 'announced coins' because all of the sudden on page 66 they will say "order here" even though the thread was just asking "should I do a coin?" and they won't email anyone who showed and interest, not to mention the organization coins that end up being LE members only when coin makers defended that organization as THE org to make the coin instead of an individual. I'm sure I missed a few of the SNAFU's that define the geocoin buyers experience. What he said...., aint it fun?
  3. LFD, There are probably only 75-100 "active" cachers (that I know of) @ MSGA. I'm sure there are more, but I don't know how many of those would purchase more than 1 coin, if that. I understand your concern (I've missed a couple of coins that I wanted to get because of limited quantities) This is the first experience with coin making / selling, so all this info is good stuff. I'm sure I speak for others too, thanks for your experience! tdecell
  4. I agree with the "no more LE ordered after the initial order".
  5. Just got an email back from the coin producer, we can order more at any time, from 1-2 coins and up, n/c for artwork or dies, so regular edition could actually be unlimited #'s. Do y'all think there is demand for 1000 reg + 150 l/e or should we stick with however many regular we need to satisfy demand + 250-300 l/e or more.....
  6. Thats is something I haven't thought of......I kind of like that. (southbays idea, that is)
  7. Since you aren't in the production mode yet, why limit the number of 'regular' coins? Why not do like WI and MN did, take orders for a week or more? I don't believe that tracking numbers need to be purchased in 1000 counts, it only says for orgs that it is a 1000 number min. WI did something like 1450 I was told. (might have been 1500 to cover mistake coins) Since reading some of these posts, I have sent an e-mail to producer asking about unlimited # of regular editions. Thanks
  8. Alright..., I don't know if I want to post this after reading all the above posts, but here we go... We are in the process (final art stage) of producing a MS Geocoin, we are going to produce and sell 700 reg edition, 150 limited edition (different metal) and then 150 "members only" (again, different metal). What the members will do with their "members only" coin once they buy them are up to them, I assume some will be traded to cachers all over, who knows? The limited editions will not cost any more than the regular edition, just limited because of the # produced. We will be stating up front the #'s sold, so... thoughts?
