  1. I'm a long term user of Montana's (600,610,680) and I always had no problem with child waypoints being loaded and visable on the Waypoint Manager App. But since I aquired my Montana 700i the waypoint are not available in the Waypoint Manager app. I load caches using GSAK and I have the option set to send all children waypoint to the GPS. Any suggestions on how to get the Waypoints available to use?
  2. I posted my qualifiers on my 9/24/2022 log. Please update the statistics.
  3. This is truly unfortunate. Why the short fuze? I have found over a hundred benchmarks and continued to find them on occasion. What is next are you just going to deep six webcams just because you can? Waymarking is in no way equal to benchmarking. Be honest tell us who is driving this assault against benchmarking. Please post a name so we have a target.
  4. I use the "Geocaching Google Earth Viewer" on a regular basis. No error message of any kind it just doesn't work for the last week or so. How do we get some eyes on this problem?
  5. I'm once again able to access Field Notes. It is a shame it took them over a week. It would sure be nice if GC.com would post what the problem was.
  6. I can't access the Field Notes page. Every time I try I get 500- Server Error. No matter where I try to access Field Notes from I get a redirect that returns https://www.geocaching.com/error/500.htm?aspxerrorpath=/my/fieldnotes.aspx This started about 40 hours ago. I get the same result using Firefox, Chrome, & Edge. I ame getting the same result on my Android browser (firefox) on Verizon. I have deleted all history of geocaching.com from the browser cache. I have rebooted. I first got this error when I uploaded my field notes and clicked on the link to return to field notes. I have no problem with any other pages (profile, PQ, Search, etc) Any ideas?
  7. I am currently at 434 days but I have decided to break my streak shortly after New Years. I am only continuing now so that if there is a challenge published that requires a calendar year I will qualify. Every day gets harder to grab that COTD because I am having to further and further from home to find potential caches. It has been fun but the price of gas just to drive out to grab one cache is getting to be much.
  8. Has anyone else noted that map display freezes frequently when you zoom way in (20' -30') as you approach a cache in the geocaching mode? Mine does but the dashboard compass and distance still work. Would someone please post or direct me to the email address of the beta team?
  9. Is there a way to assign a either the standard found icon or a custom icon to these POIs? I use GSAK, what is the name of the macro you use?
  10. I was hoping someone could tell me what is the file name that stores the "found" caches. And if it was possible to build this file externally and then copy that file onto my Montana. I have lost some of the found caches with my recent firmware update but I would also like to add the caches that I found with my previous used (60csx)GPSr.
  11. I recently upgraded the firmware on my Garmin Montana and now all the "found geocaches" have disappeared, meaning I don't see them overlaid on the map as before. Those that I have found since the upgrade show as found. Where is this information stored on my Garmin? Is this just an plain text file that I could recreate and load?
  12. Do they include cache size & cache title? This may be a little off topic but is anyone aware of a somewhat recent comparison of the GPS's that support paperless caching?
  13. I see GPS manufactures listing "paperless" geocaching but I can't find where they define what that really means. I know that when I request a Pocket query from goecaching.com the .gpx files contain a host of information that doesn't get loaded to my 60csx. I have tried c:geo on my android and their I can view all of the info about any given cache if I have data service available. I have found that I like to just load my GPS with caches and then just go to an area and start caching. I know other cachers that preplan and print each cache to take with them. So what does "paperless" really mean? Will all of the data that is in the pocket query load and be available for viewing on the GPS? On my 60csx I can load up to 1000 caches. How many can the Oregon's and Montana's store?
  14. Thanks all for your suggestions. I found my problem, I was checking "is disabled" when what I really wanted was "is enabled". Sorry for the fire drill.
  15. I just heard about earthcaches and was interested in finding a few. Well I decided to run a pocket query. Well that was a bust. I asked for just "earchcaches" that were not disabled or needing maint within 3500 miles of my home in Calif. The return: 1 cache. If I go to the seek geocache page and put earthcache in the cache name field I get hundreds but it is not sorted in any fashion. How do I set up a pocket query to just return "earthcachs"?
  16. I got pretty frustrated at first because the first 3 caches all said something to the effect that the given coordinates we wrong and that I had to figure out some complex puzzle to determine the correct coordinates. Thank goodness that I persevered because found others that gave coordinates and we found those. I have spent weeks trying to figure out those first three puzzles without success. A senior citizen's brain doesn't function like those younger ones.
  17. Will the 2 files work on a Garmin 60Csx?
  18. I'm having the same issue as the original poster. I setup the queries and they run and show up on the list of completed queries but I have yet to receive an email. I have even added a second email account that has absolutely no filtering and nothing showed up. I tried running a PQ that said it found 1000 caches but no email and 2 days later there is nothing listed on the download tab. I can preview the queries, copy them, map them but I can't get a file to load to my Garmin. Pretty frustrating! I have requested only one time PQ's, is that a problem? Gary
