  3. Well done that man.. That has to be one of the best caching pictures ever.
  4. So here's an afterthought.. On Monday I went on a caching trip in the dales with CCcooperagency http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=76...22-70ccf5276e0e Harrogate Hunters and http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=70...d2-bed23bea04c3 Both realy lovely people.. TO be honest we where doing scenic caches (but for the weather) of the dales.. Anyway.. Lyn before this trip had 23095 finds.. Hard to imagine that many caches.. And now we nearly hit 30000.... Wow time to put one out
  5. Well woke up and put on the Beeb news.. Rain down sarf.. That's the bank hol cancelled then.. Opened the curtains to the sun.. After some garden work off we went.. Bumped into Windswept and had a lovely caching time..

  7. Littleyokel and I where the ones that found the "Iron Mountain" Stafford box snatched.. the contents where strewn around and I tend to think it was a lorry driver that got the cache.. It was pretty large and fairly open ground.. I think that somebody stealing caches if probably not likely to be placing cam boxes at all. Madyokel.
  8. That walk look very good.. Now we have a new tent...Woooosh Better book up both camping events lol
  9. Hazel if you did "o"'s in Geog and Geol and An "a" in Geog then you have to do the walks I may have to carry littleY though as I did "a"'s in both Bu**er I'm really looking forward to the Dales Diva Day Out.. DDDO I'm sure we will all have a superb day.. Many thanks to Jill (Eagleowl) and Dales Diva for all the work here..
  10. We are hoping to get to Pirates for the weekend then home and a night or 2 at Mega camp.. I would like to just camp for 10 days but I think there will be too much on in Harrogate for us to stay much more than that.. We are trying to find a new tent for this year.. Big enough to host a small festival
  11. WOW we live in the "Valley Gardens".. How cool is that!!
  12. On behalf of the Mega Event Committee we are classing this as the official TB race for the event.. Good luck all
  13. Checking through my profile and so on tonight and "Angels View" GC781 was the oldest placed cache that I have found.. Now I have been back there on and off to drop bugs etc.. Then I saw the cache has 199 finds which seems very good but got me thinking as to which would be the most visited cache in the UK. I would Drive Littleyokel up for the 200th find but alas she has band practice in the morning
  14. Yep well done.. I will kill the thread I started on the same subject as I missed this one.. DOH!! bit too late I merged them both Deci
  15. Well done Mark and Rowan Superb caching
  16. Well I heard a story that there was a campsite of sponge throwers warming up for a practice run on the Saturday evening.. These storys.. you never know
  17. Good going there.. 100 is great.. It will be 200 before you know it.
  18. No you won't or should not have the problems with your files here as you are only running one full region.. The problem seems to be the access time in swaping from one region to another. (Full Regions) that is. Seems to be the access times of the full regions. Takes too long and the prog crashes.. There are ways around it but they dont always work and a soft reboot is sometimes easier.. Hide overlay tracks especially if you have been on the road for some time.. These take up memory and slow the system down.. Sometimes I have found if you are in the overlap region and zoom in to the 1mile mag and change maps there is no crash.. i run TT, MM and Sonar all at the same time so I guess that does not help things.. Mio/2GBSD with 3 full regions and loads of other map portions. Regards Steve
  19. A good thread as I see.. I am adding to it as I have a faulty Legend that needs repair. My first email bounced and I see it is due to the earliest reference to Andys address (phillips not Philips) Correct email it would seem is :- Andy.Phillips@garmin.com I will keep the thread informed of my progress.. Cheers
  20. Oh I NEED this Just cannot justify the Phone/Plan The word is our work phones are going to be upgraded in August to N95 I have to wait
  21. I'm a farmers son so maybe I'm a little more used to the beasties.. Remember that most cattle (Especially in the North) have been indoors in sheds all winter and they tend to go a little bonkers when they have just been let out.. I have never been harmed by a bull, but always keep an eye on them especially the Limo breed. Have however been completely wiped out by a cow that had recently been seperated from it's calf.. Be warned..
  22. Well done indeed.. I hope to get there myself one day.. my target is just over 4 months..
  23. ... because then I could get FTF on all the caches before they were published! .....Oh no you couldn't, one week moritarium Right thats Harrogate Hunters up for the job.. No more FTF's for Robin
  24. Have a look at this cache (an archived event so no cache advertising). The way I read it is that this event cache would still get published were it to be submitted, even though it it quite clearly indicates that the event is to be held in a pub. However, if I were to stick a magnetic film can on the lamp post close by (don't worry, that will NEVER happen) and state that the cache was close to a pub and post the same picture and information on the cache page, it would NOT get published as it would be a 'traditional' cache and not an 'event' cache. Event cache.... pubs good Any other cache... pubs bad Think I've got that right but I guess someone will shout if I haven't After hours and hours of reading that seems correct.. Events are OK to point to the pub/hotel whatever.. Even a cache located at the pub or gaining information for say a multi starting outside a pub should be ok BUT. Do not try to arrange or mention anything that the venue/person/charity etc may profit from on the GC event cache webpage. This also includes any merchandise sold at or contributing towards the said event. (Coins, Shirts etc). Also food prices and orders.. Anything that may need to be paid for on the day or in advance. This would also include say booking and paying for say a camping event? All of there should be moved to a seperate website. The major point over all that nobody should have to pay to attend an event or to pay to complete a cache. That's how I see it.. Would a mod like to confirm.
