  1. Does the unit not display the owners info on startup.. I know much of the Garmin stuff does if it has been setup with all the info?
  2. No slanging match here Mandy.. I'm adding to the thread to get it "SEEN". Cheers
  3. Very sorry that this has happened.. I'm not grinding Axe's in public yet.. Just to say a big thank you to the departing mods from Littleyokel MrsY and Myself. Hope to still meet you in early August when I will buy you Beer. Live long and Prosper!! Deceangi Good luck.. you have my number. A VERY bad day for Geocaching.. Somebody should be ashamed.
  4. In reality if I started caching again I would probably change my caching name.. As it happens it was a bit of a spinnoff from something else.. So really a bit of a Micky take.. I love the countryside having lived in it for most of my life.. Maybe I'm mad..?? Who knows.... Anyway if you get bored just call me Steve
  5. I have about 7500 caches on my pda which are updated daily.. I drive quite a lot of miles (50k per year) and one thing I find starting to slow the system is the track log which obviously takes up extra memory.. Hidind the track seems to free up memory quite a lot.. Very noticable on screen refresh.. Hope that helps a bit Cheers Steve
  6. Lol.. I remember having trouble finding one of yours that was not even a Puzz.. I look at --X Marks The Spot, Honest and my eyes mist over ..
  7. I have put a cache out in one of the PET containers.. I Infrequently work at the factory so will make some enquieries next time I am there.. For some reason the cache I put out had to be replaced as the contents got wet??
  8. Sorry I'm a bit behind on this thread.. I use a Mio201 predominantly now after LittleYokel and I managed to bust my Legend. I have MMap TTom Sonar and now Wherigo all loaded and running together.. There is no nead to load any other gps sharing software.. The SIRF3 is very accurate.. I cache with MMap and it is quite easy.. All I need now is for Moote to teach me the finer points of Cachemate..
  9. Just loaded the latest version of the software after a factory reset of my Mio301... Good news all loaded and running finally.. So off to do HH's new cache Tmorrow.. This is a lot like hard work..
  10. Cheers David If you need me to test things on the 201 just contact me.. (I will get the local Wherigo somehow lol"
  11. came across this today http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...1e-d5fc191ee288
  12. Missed it here.. (Harrogate) Heard it caused thousands of pounds of improvements to some areas.. Lol
  13. OK Got mine to the same position at McKryton. When I click on the error details tab I get this--- Player.exe Win32Exception Unexpected error inGetDeviceID() at Player.WigUtils.GetDeviceID() at Player.frmMain.frmMain_Load() at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad() at System.Windows.Forms.Form._SetVisibl eNotify() at System.Windows.Formd.Control.set_visi ble() at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run() at Player.Program.Main()
  14. The whole cartridge code should be encrypted.. I like the idea of the Wherigo but cannot understand how the cache type was even launched without it being fully tested..
  15. Now working on mine as Microsoft .NET CF 2.0 wants to hog all of the memory.. My mate Wayhay has it running on his Mio 201 so there is hope.
  16. Just out of interest.. When are the earliest cachers likely to be at the venue?
  17. We would normally be down in Devon at Easter.. but due to the restructuring of school hols across the country this will be the first time in ages we wont make it down there.. Otherwise I would be more than happy to take on the challenge.
  18. 10 day old Citroen Dispatch 2.0 HDI. (Not bent YET!!) Karrrimore runners and HiTec boots... Lots of fleece..
  19. Must admit the area around Wigan looks very busy.. Wonder how the power trails to the SE of Manchester add up. Which bit of software do you use to get the results?
  20. 27 within 1 mile of my house.. (ok a couple are archived).. Only 1 belongs to us It's pretty heavy caching in the Mega Event region lol
  21. Looking at your cache I guess I can answer some of your question.. In the cache's first location it scored 60+ hits which is not bad going at all.. However instead of archiving the cache and starting afresh you decided to "Relocate" the cache a good distance away.. However in doing this all the previous visitors are oblivious to this (Unless the are watching the cache). So if they are your local 60+ cachers thay may be unaware of it.
  22. I'm All Ears.. Any help you can give to me helps others I am sure.
  23. It's not possible with GPXSonar (Site being down I can't check if there is a newer version than 1.5), but Cachemate does and is far quicker than GPXSonar, and has better facilites. I bought Cachemate but My huge files 19 gpx's of 500 seemed to slow everything down.. so went back to sonar and loading the relevant gpx. Just chatting with HHunters and he said his MM/Sonar system works as a double click on the mark... Sometimes I think maybe a change in the way you are working might be a good idea. 1. Different Cachmate Databases for each PQ, GPXSonar can only open one of the GPX files at a time, so loading each into a Cachemate database would just be a similar way of working; but give you the benefits of Cachemate or 2. Load all 19 GPX files into a GSAK database and be more selective in what you have in your hand whilst on a cache hunt. Just read what I believe was the latest Sonar documentation (Before the website disapeared) and there is no mention of it having a working URI interface, but I will install version 1.5 on my PDA tomorrow and try it out Ah here is the problem and the reason I download what I do.. As an engineer covering what may be an area from Newcastle to hull.. Lincoln... Burton.. Stafford... Manchester and back.. often covering into NWales and up throuch Lancashire to the boarders.. I cover a small area lol.. My lunch break could be anywhere.. Loading all into cachmate would give a database so huge that it takes ages to work on.. All are loaded into GSAK.. all 7100.. My system works fine.. Just a double click would be a little luxury.. Cheers
  24. No I think it is just reloading the last cache page in explorers "memory cache" ie not loading the cache page just loading explorer at its last point
