Gee, does 0-3$ a month entittle people to be rude and shout, what a deal. It will be fixed. Thanks for all the hard work in improving the site, Jeremy & staff.
  2. Ok.. clann_barron has found caches by Cableshot, Eagle Dad, The Hobos, Overrover and Legna & Soulbait...To name a few.. they have all logged some of my caches, as has Geo-pirate ...Paint Fiction has logged some caches I have.........and it goes on and on...Hell we've all been to WALMART! nice thread
  3. I did 2 of these recently. one was great and well done. There was no mistaking you were on the right property. The other was a great hide, but it was hard to tell which side of a fence you were surposed to be on. This came close to causing problems. Simple statments on the cache page can make this clear. ex: IN the vacant lot, DON"T climb fences, appoch from the north only, ect, ect. Good luck!
  4. Where you put your zip code or coords in there is a space that says "none selected" that is marked, remove that mark to show you are selecting the coords or zip code. this drove me nuts until I figured out what I was doing wrong.
  5. I guess they do all this in the virtual outdoors? Gee...what fun...
  6. How about, LOOK DOWN, or YOU CRACK ME UP!
  7. I stopped at a small park with a boat ramp at a lake recently. I was looking for a cache, as I walked along following the arrow I walked next to a sign. The Gps said 30' that-a-way, the force said " Reach up my son, I am with you!". I put my hand right on the cache.
  8. I started caching the same way. Perhaps because I was used to navigating on water with Loran-C and then Gps in 1993, visualizing the direction to go wasn't that much of a problem. In fact I found it interesting to watch the Lat./Lon. change in responce to my walking about. However I 'd always planned on using all the features and found using the arrow simpler. Both methods work fine and are equaly as accurate. Good luck caching!
  9. I had the same problem, had to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
  10. I just ignore the jeeps. If I find one fine, if not fine. Decided this after looking in several caches that had them listed and found that they'ed been gone for months and no one logged them out. I went to an event where there were several that people were passing around to copy numbers off. Decided thats not my game, thank you. I dislike what I've seen and how people hold on to them. Travel bugs should move along.
  11. Heck, that was a perfectly good month.
  12. search is down for awhile. try plastic polish, it's made to , surprise, polish plastic, this removes light scratches on many plastic screens. Good luck!
  13. These all appear to be in normally used public areas, shouldn't be a problem in my view. If someone thinks its needed you could alway say: "DON'T PLAY ON THE RR TRACKS!!"
  14. 1 cockerspaniel, 1 shepard mix....both love the outdoors and geocaching...good luck!
  15. NHF I acually saw this on a log, "Our quickest time yet to NHF." NOT HAVE FUN
  16. When I First posted TRIP I was just having fun. I wasn't serious. A few things standout here, We aren't a posse, or a detachment of anything. Hitchikers have thumbs (I know, Iknow..TBs, Coins,Ect.) Someone just wants to be called a Hillbilly! We are: INTERNATIONAL We deal with: TRAVELLERS (TBs,Coins,Ect.) We do: RESCUE (The stalled, The abducted) & We go to the: ASSISTANCE (Of TB & Coin Owners) We can Be a: COALILITION ( if we want to! ) So any good ideas for a name just shout out at you? Why does all my nice spacing disappear from the actual posting, it was all lined up! well you get the idea!
  17. If your friend maintains the cemetary why is it so overgrown?
  18. Let's stay with ITBRL, It's good, it works and it's here!
  19. I think that each cacher should decide for themselves if they want to move a TB along. Based on a TBs goal and the cachers knowledge of the local area, the local rescuer can decide. Seasonal conditions are also important, as well as cacher migrations. Lots of cachers and TBs come here to florida for the winter and back north for the summer. If you think a TB needs to move, move it, the amount of time its been in one place can't be the deciding factor alone. If you see TBs in seldom visted caches take them to ones that will help them reach their goal. FREE THE BUGS!
  20. If you make The Juke Box a "new" cache, you can honor the old one by calling the new one The Juke Box Too. Also add your remarks on the subject to the new cache page.
  21. Hey Metaphor, I guess that makes you a CZECH CACHER!
  22. A database that we can easily access, of lost, stalled and missing Tbs would be great. Someone could check on how they could help in their area. It might be as simple as telling your best caching friend "Hey, remember that Tb you picked up 3months ago?, It's way past time to move it on!" Or it might be as simple as doing a cache you were going to anyway and move a TB along. A database to record "recovered", or unstalled TBs would also be good. People could see the size of the problem and it might encourage others to help out. Team Dragon Racing!- Thanks in advance for sundays efforts!
  23. Placing a cache that you believe will likely cause an unnessesary 911 call is not the thing to do. 911 is for emergency use. I know of several people that have died responding to unnessesary emergency calls. You can't tell what someone would report if they saw cachers on your street, a bomb, a burglary in progrese, ect, ect. 1- yes, no cacher should be concerned about talking to LEOs, but some are. 2- some cachers are old, retired people who want to live on a quite street. 3- you might not think so now, but someday #2 might include you. 4- It is often wise to not place a cache just because you can. 5- what's so worth looking at in front of your house that cachers must see? Now, I know from your last post that causing anyone harm is not your intention, just think about some of the replys to your post and you can see that everyone wants to protect our sportgameactivitywhateveritis, from inadvertant harm. I'm glad you went on the forum and asked for input, it was the right thing to do. Good Luck hiding and finding!
  24. Lookup GCR010 , It's a cache I have that uses water in tubes, 1 1/4" PVC, The Idea is to retrive the log. there are 4 pipes of different lenght. they are connected to a sq.ring of pipes at their bottom end. The Sq.ring makes passages between the pipes connecting two pipes together, A longer one w/ a shorter one. In other words its like two "Us" together. There are 1/4" drain holes near the bottom of the short pipes to let the water out. Instead of a ball I used a waterproof matchbox. It depends on which pipe the log is in what you have to do to get it out. If it's in a short pipe you have to pour water in the right long pipe fast enough so the log will float high enough to grab as the water drains, 4 hands helps. If it's in a long pipe you must fill the pipe untill the short one overflows and then block that with body parts (generally Hands, but whos looking) while you fill the long pipe to float the log. yes you can turn it over and dump out the log, but people generally don't. The sq. ring of pipes on the bottom is weighed down to keep it in place. It is in the water at the edge of a large lake, this makes it easy to get water to pour, but also hides how the draining action works. I hope this helps. If I have hopelessly confused you , feel free to ask questions. Sorry I don't have a picture to show you. I would reconcider the use of a plunger!
  25. For something different I use listermint containers. Small and flat.
