  1. Not too sure about clubs down there....I know that some join up with the St.Louis group(SLAGA)and I think there might be a group around the Terra Haute area, but I am not sure on that. There used to be a group called LEGS(little Egypt Geocaching Society) many years ago, and I have heard rumors that there has been some activity to revitalize that group recently. I am part of the CIGA group that represents members from I-80 to I-70. We are sponsoring MOGA this year at Lake Shelbyville.
  2. "When you use bablefish to translate the term hunky-dory to Minnesotian it comes out as "fer sure"." I thought it meant "Ya, you betcha"
  3. Due to an upgrade, I am selling a Garmin Map 76CS. Unit is just over one year old and is in EXCELLENT condition. I have used a Palm screen protector(cut to fit) on the display since day one for protection. I have the original box, waypoint/trip manager, laynard, USB cable. Unit also has the latest software updates from GARMIN. The unit currently has Ill. topo loaded, but I can change topography to meet buyers need. I am asking $315.00.(I paid $400.00 even with a rebate) The $15.00 is to cover shipping/handling/insurance, as I plan to use Fed-Ex. If the shipping exceeds $15.00 I will cover the costs. If there are questions, please feel free to contact me through a PM or this email. buford.hound@verizon.net
  4. I will second the Cachemate and GSAK combination with my Palm and GPS V. I have probably just about paid for my Palm Tungsten E with all of the caches I have found since going paperless last fall. I look to take full advantage of GSAK's capabilities when I upgrade my GPS later this year.
  5. Lets see, I think it was 104 or 105 within a 8-hour time frame. This was the "Bob" series in Chicago plus a few extras thrown in. On just a regular day with a wide variety of caches I believe the number is around 31. Most trips my partner(Peoria Bill) and I try to get at least 15 during the course of the day.
  6. I also got the RAM window mount and couldn't quite figure it out. Didn't want to pry to hard for fear of breaking it. Now the vision is clear. Thanks for the tip!!

  8. Greetings, the wife has family up near that area as well as cold spring, to which we try and make it back 2x per year, yaa, you-betcha!! Now on to the units. I just picked up a gps V last friday and took it out geocaching this weekend. I was previously using a garmin 12xl. The differences are like night and day. the gps V is the same size as a gps III, and can be viewed either in portrait or landscape position. I am still getting used to all the new features, but have been very happy thus far. The turn by turn feature is pretty cool, although you need to download maps to it for more accuracy. However, from what I have seen the mapping software that comes with the gps V does have some limitations on some of the rural/urban areas. Best Buy does carry the gps V if you have a store nearby. Not sure what Gander Mountain carries, I know there is a store in St. Cloud you could probably call to check thier selection. I picked mine off Ebay for $408.00 including shipping and had it in one week. Good luck with your search.....
