  1. WOW - positive energy coming from me! You go get that cache!!
  2. So... posted on the main forum and it moved on over to the trackables forum. So for anyone that missed it more details here: http://www.tb-run.com/show-race-JERSEY2NEWJERSEY.html And if you want to join in PM me for postage details.
  3. So how about it? Anyone want to send a bug to join the race? PM me for a mailing address.
  4. Edited - thanks did not pay attention at school... Some people in the UK thought I should also post in the UK forum but thought this would cover everyone without reposting in all the regional forums.
  5. Hi Everyone, this is just to let you all know we are planning a TB race from Jersey to New Jersey - if you want to enter please PM me and I will let you know where to post TB's (or just follow the links below). Or if you are feeling lucky you could just release a TB with a mission to get to Jersey in time for the race... Jersey is a small self governing island 12 miles from the North coast of France. Area: 45 Square miles Population: 100,000 Website: http://www.jersey.com New Jersey is one of the 50 states of the USA Area: 7,417 Square Miles Population: 8,708,000 Website: http://www.state.nj.us More details here: http://coord.info/GC2WZH0 And here: http://www.tb-run.com/show-race.php?run=JERSEY2NEWJERSEY PS Mods - I know this is a TB related topic but can you let this stay in the general forum for a few days? Cheers!
  6. Try a 9 by 5 mile island with 230 caches. You do have to solve a lot of the puzzles before placing! Or do what I do and if you find a good place get rough coords and email your reviewer to see if it is free before placing.
  7. Why not do a Large 1/1, Reg 2/2, Small 3/3, micro 4/4 and 'not chosen' nano 5/5? Pine cone at the top of a tree anyone?
  8. Strangley enough was half was through writing a post in the UK forum, then thought it may be too early! Will probably do so at the start of next month.
  9. Just added the race to TB-RUN: JERSEY2NEWJERSEY Check out the rules etc.
  10. Just a quick update - I am planning on starting the race in late July as the kids are off to visit grandparents and I wanted to host an event to start the race! Start cache will be: http://coord.info/GC2330Q "Portlet" Finish cache will be: http://coord.info/GCMHE8 "Travel Bug Train Stop" If anyone wants to join the race I am happy to send you my postal address to send the TB's. I will announce all this on the main forum toward the end of the month. Happy caching!
  11. Yeah, we really gave tribute to the Brits. ... well, I guess they named it in the first place. Perhaps the goal cache should be in Monmouth Battlefield! Did not know what this meant so had to look it up should have paid attention in history class!
  12. If the US has NEW Jersey, the other one must be OLD Jersey This is a really fun idea. If it works, you could do all kinds of similar ones. York to New York, NY York to York, PA Lancaster to Lancaster PA Suffolk to Suffolk, NY London to New London, CT I'm not sure where Old Jack City is located though. From a quick scan of the NJ area on Google Earth... Essex, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Camden, Gloucester, Warminster, Bucks, Northampton, Berks, Reading. Are all in the UK, mostly the South. Lebanon????!!!
  13. Well, thats a good start, thanks for the offers of help! Now, living on a 9x5 isle gives a somewhat warped perspective of distance (going to the beach on the west of the island is sometimes described as a long way), are you guys close to each other? I am not too familiar with the geography of New Jersey (I thought it was all on an island until this morning when I looked in to it! ) - how much trouble is it to grab TB's from all over NJ? (I can cycle to pick up any TB's over here!!! ) - although maybe a single cache endpoint would be better (and works with the tb-run.com website).
  14. What are you using to administer the race? Are you just watching the TB's or using an external site?
  15. The feedback forum would be the place for this. I personally would like this combined with group (or team) accounts so anyone in the team can maintain the cache.
  16. Hello USA! Especially the guys in New Jersey... I live in Jersey (the original one just off the coast of France, part of the British Isles), it is a small island 9 miles by 5 with about 230 Geocaches. Is anyone living in New Jersey (Jersey City maybe) willing to be the endpoint of a TB race (www.tb-run.com)? This would involve picking up the TB's as they arrive on your island and posting them back! I am, of course, willing to be the end of a race for you guys, or even place your bugs in my race! What do you think?
  17. Just checked - 39 Waymarks on the island. Without wanting to start a debate am not really that interested in Waymarking. (before anyone mentions it I have found the only physical TerraCache on the island and there are no opencaches) Moving is not a real option. Well, not yet anyway, the Wife & Kids like it here.
  18. OK, so here is a pic of where I live (they do say a picture paints a thousand words). Check out the scale... What next for Geocaching? In the next few months I expect to have found them all. Being self employed I do not get off the island much, so how do I prolong what is a most enjoyable hobby?
  19. Has anyone ever taken the position that cache owners do not have the authority to delete a 'find' log if the logbook has not been signed? Probably, but the CO has been granted that ability on the website and so does have that power.
  20. I can not think of putting someone into my cell if I don't know them, and I could not conceive of calling, or even texting someone that I don't know. I am very confident that the friends that I have provided my number to have not passed it out to anyone. Just as I wouldn't do the same without explicit permission. This isn't Facebook. No kidding, but the operative words were SO WELL, no way would I share numbers or call someone without permission!
  21. I was wondering what kind of crazy cache owners publish their phone numbers! LOL "dude it's 3am no I'm not going to tell you where the cache is goodnight!" With a smartphone you can email from the website, not instant but sometimes gets a quick response (especially if CO is a reviewer!) EOF has not caught on as well as PAF though... Most CO's don't publish their numbers, but after a while you meet, offer to assist or get such offers and numbers are swapped. Keep hold of the numbers, you never know when they will be needed! One more thing, a text is often more polite than a phone call if you don't know them so well, especially at night.
  22. Only time I have used a paf it turned out to be missing! Bit of a relief, although a shame it had gone.
  23. IBTL If you think the cache is not there, ignore it. If you have hunted for it and not found post a DNF or NM if you are sure it has gone. If enough have posted NM log a NA. Don't hold your breath. These are my interpretations of the guidelines.
