  1. Hiya Burgerhead As you have been finding quite a lot of our caches lately and from your write ups I presume you live on the opposite side of hill from us about 2 mile away :0) We have an event coming up in August and also the local cachers meet up once a month for a natter and a drink, you would be welcome to come along to either of these get togethers. They are a canny bunch of local yokels and a wealth of information can be gotten from them by arm twisting or pint buying :D Mandy
  2. Feck that Garmin Big Ben coin sold for £36.71 !!!!!!!!!!! Mine will be on there soon, keep bidding my sweets
  3. Well I can only try Ian they are just sitting here collecting dust, or I can just chuck them into caches for some theiving swine to nick. I thought I might get a little bit especially as a free coin is going for 22 quid!! M :0)
  4. I only had 50 of the Black coins minted, let me know what you get for the gold ones, I've a couple that I never registered. I am keeping one black, it was a gift for doing the calendars, I have had an offer on the second one I will email you Jaz M
  5. Well I am going to try putting 2 or 3 on Fleabay to see how they go... The Yanks must be s*** hot on geocoins, I have already had an offer on the Geocaching Secret Agent coin and I only posted a few minutes ago!!!...not enough dollars though, the exchange rate is naff
  6. Do none trackable coins sell does anyone know? I have one of these, which I was reliably informed when I received it was one of only two in the UK http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=155737 M
  7. Shh don't say you have collected them and kept them.....you will get slated .....I may have one or two Garmin ones too I have 6 unregistered 1st UK Mega Event coins, 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 black (they are pretty rare so I was told) I have already had offers from over the puddle for all of those before I have even advertised them I have also had an offer for one coin that is registered to our name, but adopting the coin into your own teams name is as simple as one click of the mouse so people are even willing to buy those too, I thought the registered ones might be difficult to sell. M
  8. I have a book full of Geocoins sitting collecting dust, so I took my self off to Fleabay to see if/what Geocoins sell. The first coin I came across was this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Garmin-BIG-BEN-Geocoin-/250846028367?pt=UK_SportingGoods_HikingEquipment_RL&hash=item3a6796a24f Were they not given out free by Blacks or some other outdoor kind of shop? I hope I can sell some of my coins for those prices, I have 50 odd coins and I was going to ask £4/5 per coin.....Fleabay here I come Mandy []
  9. Deci..This peer caching is becoming a pain in the a*se Keith..I heard she called it "Where the sun don't shine" and it's this big (Deci passes out!!)
  10. Keith is a Teddy Bear and your a Dragon Dave pet, and don't I know it M
  11. What did I do? He threatened me Deci, and I am really really scared I think you are a wonderful, fast, fair, and dedicated reviewer Mr X (says she who has caches to submit) M
  12. You may just meet Keith (DalesmanX) at event close to you very soon!! Not sure whos event it is though I gotta say though Keith helped me greatly with my 100 series, I could not have done it with out him and I have a great deal of respect for him, even though we have a love hate relationship I love him to bits when he publishes my caches, cal him a tight Yorkshire git when he refuses them and he thinks I am a PITA Keith is a bundle of laughs and calls a spade a spade typical Yokshire man really !! He is only a newbie reviewer and is just learning the ropes really he makes mistakes like all of us do, but he is definitely fair........infact he's a bit of a soft touch really ( I didn't say that if Deci is reading this ) You gotta remember he does have a life outside of caching too, but I have always found if I email him to ask for help or to have a grumble, which I do regularly, he has always replied the same day or I have got an out of office reply saying he is away without tinter web/on holiday/busy/ignoring me (not really) There is a super photo of Keith up a tree looking for a cache at my last Teddy Bears Picnic Event ... I am sure when you come along to my "ducks" event at the end of the month and you actually meet Keith face to face you will change your mind Mandy
  13. I was emailed by a lady cacher last night, who said one of her local cachers had put the following onto their cache pages.. Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log. I thought it was quite nice and well put and at the very least it is worth a try, I think I may try something like this on my caches. Mandy
  14. You always get one.............don't ya Sue http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=3618b50e-4ccd-4c09-8909-0afb1cbf9aee Too funny
  15. Yeah we have had should be archived for a full log book, drove 80 mile to Holy Island (we set this one before the limits kicked in ) to find the book full on one side ........ needs maintenance because the pencil is blunt or even worse there was no pencil in the cache .. we are sooo bad ... but at least they had wrote a log Lilian so we knew what the problem was !! What good is a blank "needs maintenace" or "Needs Archiving" to anyone ? Maybe I should email the cacher asking if they meant to leave a blank log and asking if they did not like my caches ? What worries me is a lot of these folks drive cars but they can't type a few words on a log !!
  16. Helloo Betty, long time no speak...........so you mean my caches are crap then All three were walks in pretty areas and all three are good size caches with swaps, maybe they just got out of bed on the wrong side today
  17. Not tested this theory... but I'd say the blank loggers are unlikely to own caches. If my theory is proven invalid... I know that they wouldn't give a flying one! The person who put blank logs on my caches today does not have caches of their own .... They found 5 caches put notes on two and left my 3 blank...my caches aren't that bad honest guv I know I am always late logging but I would not log a blank log, why log at all ?
  18. How are you supposed to know "what" needs maintenance, is the pencil blunt, is the log book full (on one side) Tis madness!! M
  19. One simple question Are you KEEPING or DELETING blank logs? I am DELETING M []
  20. What a strange name!!! Does it mean something? Sooo pleased for you Wendy Speak soon Mandy
  21. There's a new series of 100 caches in Durham I heard about.....
  22. We have not been stopped whilst caching, we must not be suspicious looking characters But the following sprung to mind after reading this thread.. Mr JerryO was stopped by armed police whilst trying to set a cache in the land of the monkey hangers (Hartlepool) they were ready to let him go after his explanation until he mentioned he had an ammo can on the boot!!! The following is from his now archived cache page.. I had intended to put out more of these caches but the very nature of the theme suggested that I look in some interesting locations to place my goodies. I was a tad thwarted in my goal by two (very pleasant as it happens) policemen who, with their friends Messers Heckler and Koch, persuaded me that placing caches within a quarter of a mile of a chemical factory or a nuclear power station wasn’t perhaps quite as intelligent as it first seemed. I elected to go elsewhere after having explained about geocaching (this took half an hour) and the careful placing of ammunition boxes in obscure locations (this took a bit longer and nearly involved a search). My first words to them were along the lines of, “Aaaaagh! That’s a gun!” Which it was. Mandy
  23. I promised I wouldn't put another big series out Keith Well not in the near future Mandy
  24. It has to be an event Mike...........and it just HAS to be called "Let's Go Dogging in Wales" I double dog dare ya BTW we will be there with Jess Mandy
