For Windoze XP they are in :- C:\Documents and settings\{your name}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXXXXXXX.default\GM_Scripts\Geocaching_Map_Enhancements\ Hope you can find them!

I fully agree with you though it is mainly a problem with urban caches there are similar black spots in the rurals which seem to act as magnets for some cache owners. Personally, in the case of the discarded syringes, I'd have no hesitation in putting a 'Needs Archiving' log on it.

I have released 2. The first one in Dec 2005. this came home in Oct 2007 (just less than 2 years) with 33,062 miles on the clock having taken a very roundabout route to New Zealand and back The other was released in Nov 2009. It vanished in July 2010 only to reappear nearly 3 years later in April this year and is still traveling - in Germany, with 3,591 miles on the clock It just goes to show that a TB can vanish for a long time and reappear again so don't give up hope yet. However, I do get the impression from this forum and talking to other cachers that the loss rate is higher now than it was a few years ago.

Thanks for the answer, but how do you do that? When I switch to Google Maps in geocaching.com I get the same coordinates. When you say "Corrected Coords" are you referring to the corrected coords in GSAK that you can use to put in the answer to a puzzle for example? If so those coords are only in your GSAK database and so will not appear on the Geocaching site maps. However there is a GSAK macro that will display caches on google maps (and another that will put them onto Google earth).

I have had a similar problem over the last few weeks but it always seems to happen when the GS website is running slowly and it sorts itself quite soon, though I must admit I do get worried each time it happens, not knowing if GS have broken it again or just forgotten to feed the hamsters.

,I too, do not / will not, use Twitface etc. I think that some, at least, of the decline in this forum began as a result of the proliferation of regional fora; though I have never used them so I do not know if they, too, are loosing out to Twitface I suppose that one advantage of other Fora & Twitface is that Groundspeak can't censor them so you can use the 'C word' and others that are banned here.

It depends on your browser:- For Chrome follow the link in the post by simplysup immediately before your original post to get instructions. With Firefox it is easier to install it from the website and then edit the script that is installed within Firefox

There is more than one 'ExtendLeafle't. From memory you want the second one so do the search and then find next and that should do it. Easier is to copy the line that you are going to change from this forum and paste that into the search to get it in one.

Firstly a few points which may seem obvious but.... You need to set up a separate notification for each type of cache Make sure you have selected the events for which you want to be notified (published, archived, disabled etc.) Check the radii for the notifications. Were the missing caches within this radius? Edited to add: :- and have you got your home coords set? Having said all that, I had a few notifications last week that took a day or two to arrive and when I dashed out hoping for some FTF's I found a load of logbooks on the second or third pages.

I still, occasionally, use "DPM" when logging a realy bad / wet / litter strewn cache which some of the oldies may remember, used to be used in such cases. DPM= des paloures mort or in full; "Les longs sanglots des palourdes mortes blessent mon coeur avec un languor monotone pendant qu'ils dansent à minuit" or in translation: The long sobs of the dead clams wound my heart with a monotonous languor as they dance at midnight"

I have used waterproof paper for some years. The biggest problem is finders who use water soluble ink which runs as soon as it gets wet. As long as everyone uses pencil it works very well.

Not circular but have a look at the Brampton Valley Trail which is the old railway line from Northampton to Market Harborough. Probably too far for one day so split it into two. with something like 30 caches along the way.. Starts at GC2BJQY and heads almost due north from there.

Thanks for your replies, it is the weekly e-mail that I am wanting to turn off. I have switched off the "Fun and Interesting" emails and will wait until next week to see if that has done the trick. If it has worked I may well leave it off as I am now using the Email reader macro for GSAK which reads all the normal notification emails and enters them straight into the GSAK database so the weekly one doesn't really serve any useful purpose any more.

I want to turn off the weekly notification eMail while I'm away on holiday but can't remember / find where to do it. Can any one point me in the right direction please

You could try putting it on TB Rescue. This will notify people in the area who have agreed to rescue TB's

I have a separate e-mail account (It only takes about a minute to set up on Gmail) and use it for all PQ's, notifications etc. The only Geocaching things I get on my main account are the weekly newsletter, warnings about my subscription being about to expire and emails that are sent through my profile. After you return home you can then set this account to forward everything to your main account if you want to. Then, the next time you are away you just have to switch the forwarding off again.

Hi there, WAAS is actually the American system, the European equivalent is EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation O??? (Orbiting?) System. Amazingly, even astoundingly) the two systems are compatible so if you switch on WAAS on your GPSr it will pick up the EGNOS satellites. As these satellites are in Geostationary orbit they are over the equator and so are not far above the horizon and may be difficult to pick up in the north of England and Scotland (Thats why a bigger Sky dish is needed in Scotland). I don't know about your Fortrex but most Garmins show a 'D' in the signal strength bars in the Satellite page when you are locked on to EGNOS. As to what it does for you, until you get the 'D' to indicate that the system is in use the answer is - not a lot. Once it is all locked on and running the "accuracy * " figure may drop from around 20 feet to six or seven. * Not wishing to start a flame war - the figure which Garmin and others choose to call accuracy is really nothing of the sort. It is purely a theoretical calculation based on the distribution of the satellites at the time (If they are all in a straight line the "accuracy" will be terrible compared to the case when the satellites are nicely spread around over the sky). It takes no account of other factors such as cloud cover reflections off buildings , trees or other local factors. Also, I believe it is a Standard Deviation figure so the 95% confidence level will be 3 times the displayed figure even ignoring local interferences.

I would suggest putting the word TIDAL in the name of the cache as a flag to those paperless cachers who do not always read the cache pages
