Well I've been going 19 months, and haven't reached 50 yet. Mainly due to not having enough free time to get out and cache!

I think this is a great idea. Would certainly appeal to me. The only problem I could see would be someone malicously adding a virus to the drive, but I think most people have anti-virus software and could easily scan the drive first.

For me it has to be how little I actually know the local area I have lived in my entire life! I know the general area, and bits of it extremely well, but other local cachers have shown me new bits I never knew existed!

Same as you - or if I have a map with me have a look at that and see if it indicates direction of a trail

Hi Vic We were new to geocaching not so long ago, and after much deliberation purchased a Garmin e-trex. See link here for details. We also brought ours from these people and have been very happy. You can find more details via this forum section too. We've been really please with our e-trex, it does everything we need, and is under a £100. Now we have been geocaching for a while though we are considering looking for something a little more sophisticated, but that will depend on our budget! Hope that helps? Alan
