  1. Hello everyone. I need a bit of help. I want to place a night cache and I can’t remember the name of those tiny reflective tags to put on trees fence posts etc. They are tiny and incredibly reflective and I’m sure there is a company in the USA that produces them. I’m in the UK but hopefully they will export across the pond. I keep thinking of “Flame Tags” or “Fire Tags” or something like that but a google search doesn’t return any results. All good wishes to you all. Martin (Herne2 and Cara the Geodog)
  2. I noticed it mentioned OS maps somewhere on the site - does that mean actual 1:50/25,000 OS maps? There is a sort of OS map on the app which is called Streetview but it certainly isn't 50 or 25,000. There are no footpaths or rights of way marked on it so if that's your sort of caching then it's not that special. What I have found is downloading the offline maps for England gives you footpaths and tracks. I can't vouch for their accuracy as I haven't tried it out yet and as far as I can see there's no legend showing rights of way or not. Hope this helps.
  3. Well...... all I can say is that it's lovely and worth every penny of the £4.99 it costs here in Blighty! I'm still working my way through the vast quantity of features but all that I have seen so far is a kind of bliss compared to the new but vile GS app. Thanks zedsaid.
  4. Thanks Chief301. A wonderful answer and one that has saved me much head scratching. You wouldn't believe how many times I've come close to lobbing my phone into the nearest swamp or other non iphone friendly place. Thanks again
  5. Is there anyway that you can put co-ordinates into the iphone app, say if you're doing a true off-set multi. I've looked and looked to no avail. Thanks
  6. The 14th sounds great to me though I will have to check the date at work. Cara the Geodog is looking forward to meeting another Geodog and I'm looking forward to meeting some people out of the area, Nobby.Nobs excluded. See you there.
  7. I agree whole heartedly as a previous post of mine shows. It's nice that the same standard of customer service exists on this side of the pond.
  8. I don't know what it's like on the U.S. side of the pond but over here in Blighty the lasses and lads in Garmin customer service are doing a great job. I bought a 60cs on the internet (usually enough for a company to make a fuss about warranty claims) and having used and abused it for over a year the usb port came loose. Rang up Garmin they said they would quote for repair but low and behold TWO DAYS later a brand new unit arrived on the doorstep. No quibble, no proof of purchase and absolutely no hassle. Hats off boys!
  9. Excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between the CS and the CX?
  10. Thanks for all your help. I thought it was easy but kinda went round in circles. Miss Piggy is now waiting to go to the pub for a drink. Thanks again
  11. I seem to be getting in a bit of a tiz with placing and retrieving travel bugs. What is the easiest way of logging a placed bug or a retrieved bug? I tried to put a lifted travel bug note (Miss Piggy) but all I could do was place a write note icon on the log. Also on my account details Miss Piggy has a note saying that it has been inactive in my hands for 14 days but I only re-patriated it from France on the 19 March. I'm probably being really thick and stupid but any help would be great. I'm now going to put a Smilie here for no reason other than I like the look of it
