  1. NO! I will never be able to go caching again without the Treasure Hunt theme running through my head! Munch
  2. I have tried downloading a cartridge and placing it in the WhereYouGo file and now I have this message. "Cannot create Root directory. SDCard probably missing. Insert and run again!" It is not missing! It is working however when I plug in my USB cable that's when it does not work. Any suggestions? Also I have tried downloading a cartridge and placing it in the WhereYouGo diectory. In the WhereYou Go file on my HTC there is a Cache Folder, a Map Folder and a Tile Folder. I assume that I copy the download into the Cache Folder? Am I correct? Regards Munch
  3. Thanks Mrs B. Some amazing caches listed here, not much done today at work What prompted my post was a Geocoin I bought called the Geotriad coin. This GeoTriad Geocoin signifies a successful completion of a popular quest in geocaching. Geocachers come to the Pacific Northwest from all over the world to complete this quest. It includes visiting the 'Lilypad' (Groundspeak Headquarters, by invitation only), finding Mission 9 in the Project A.P.E. cache series and a stop at where it all started - the Original Stash Tribute Plaque. So I was wondering if there is the equivelant in the UK & Ireland, such as the first ever cache placed etc Regards Munch
  4. Are there any "Must Do" or "Holy Grail" caches in the UK & Ireland? If so, is there a list?
  5. Hello! I get the following message when trying to log in with my Groundspeak logon: Column 'Locale' does not belong to table Table. I am trying to downloada cartridge Cheers Munch
  6. Hi All Can somebody tell me the "approved" apps for my Android phone. I have posted on the UK forum and it seems most cachers use the "unmentionable one"! So, with the following in mind can you tell me my best options: I have an unlimited data package I still want to use my GPSr I want to search at my current location with my phone (i don't always no postcodes/zips of locations) for the nearest caches Finally, I hear Groundspeak are designing an app for Android? When's the ETA? Thanks Munch
  7. Hello. My work have upgraded my phone to an HTC Legend as of Tuesday. Is there an app that someone can recommend for me to go paperless or can I use this phone to look straight on Geocaching.com? I am not bothered about the phone GPSr capability as I will keep using my MAP 60SCx. Thank you Munch
  8. I search for caches near me with the Google Maps feature. I download to GPSr then I have tried several times to use the bookmark but cannot find it afterwards. In my profile there is no link and in my public profile there is a link but nothing is in there. What am I missing? Where am I going wrong? Or is it broken? Thx Munch
  9. I'm only jealous! I never thought of this for a cache! I have a canoe ( kayak like thing ) it's coming out tomorrow! It'll bring a new meaning to cache and dash, maybe paddle & dash! GOT IT! SPLASH & DASH!!
  10. Is this a pet Yak? I thought they were from the Himalaya's. What's a Yak gotta do with it anyway, I'm sure you couldn't fit it on your kayak. Animal welfare would be all over you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yak http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sarcasm
  11. I am calling it Small Thx
  12. As I will be hiding my 1st Cache tomorrow (1 litre container ) and want to be as accurate as possible; I have a question. The Rules say the following on size of container: "Small (sandwich-sized plastic container or similar – less than approximately 1 quart or 1 L – holds trade items as well as a logbook)" As my container is 1 litre in size is it SMALL or REGULAR I think regular as it's not less than a litre. Help! I am not sleeping well because of this Munch
  13. Thank you, Richard! I have spoken with Vodafone and they have confirmed they no longer offer it. I will stick with email notifications for now and upgrade the phone in September. I know what I want so should have plenty of time to work out how to use it Roy
  14. The text below tells how an American phone company enables their users to receive emails for NEW CACHES as texts to their mobile phones. I am with Vodafone; does anyone know if I can do this? I have spoken to Vodafone but they do not get what I am talking about! Munch "Goto Member Features -> Instant Log Notification -> Create and fill out form. When you select the cache type a new field will open and select 'publish'. In the field that says 'send to another e-mail' put in for youe cell phone. For example Verizon is (Your phone number) @vtext.com - When the cache is published you'll get notified on your cell. It wont tell you the coords but will give you the cache name / GC number to look it up. Then run like heck out the door - LOL" To filter out caches that have not yet been found goto Member Features -> Pocket Query Generator ->Create a new Query at the That (and) section select that have not been found. After you complete the form and click 'submit information' it gives you an option (at the top) to preview - click that.
  15. Has anyone bought from Geoswag.com? What are they like?
  16. After finding 24 caches I have noticed some odd words entering my vocabulary. I now have a GeoBike instead of a bike, a GeoBag instead of a Day Pack, a GeoCoat instead of a Coat! Does this mean soon I will have GeoKids & GeoWife? I'm gonna draw a line at a GeoDog tho
  17. Just thought I'd check...... I hide my caches first then submit the forms to be reviewed (remembering to pray to the Earth Gods that there are no mystery caches I cant see) the reviewer then comes back and says yes or no, is this correct?
  18. Hi Folks I found a cache today with a TB which I took but the person who left it has not logged placing it yet. They also placed it today. Do I wait for them to log first? I can wait as I will move the TB on Friday. What do I do? Munchime PS My first trackable very pleased!!
  19. Hi All I have been working on a series of caches for a while now and am nearly ready to hide. Can I contact my local reviewer first and give them a list of proposed co-ordinates to save time? The circular walk I am planning to place has no caches but I know that does not mean there is not any there. If someone could mail me the email address for the Coventry area I would be very grateful. Munchime
  20. Thank you Everyone I am going to watch it for a while and see what happens, if it's near me before I go it's comin' with me.
  21. Hello. Forgive me as I am a newbie......... There is a cache near me that has a geocoin and the person who placed it wants it to do as many miles as possible. I have a trip that will put 10500 miles on it but do not go until the end of Feb. What is the ettiquette here? Thx
