  1. What evil? That would be too easy to find when I picked it up to cito it.
  2. Collect a bunch, and make a textured mural. Half of an electrical pencil sharpener, minus the electrical part/battery compartment. Which can still sharpen the dull pencil in the cache, if I insert and twirl the pencil properly. I'll leave a very rusty bottle cap in exchange. EDIT: to describe how to use the broken sharpener Say that twenty times really fast: Twirl the pencil properly! I'll take that bottle cap and add it to the others I have to make one of these. I'll call him Rusty. But what about that sticky hard candy covered with lint?
  3. Yes they do. That is why you should check with the local reviewer and/or other local cachers with more experience when you have such questions. The fact that things very so much is why reviewers are afforded so much apparent latitude in their task. I don't speak or read French but this phrase, "visite a mon papa", makes me think it is an invitation to visit the CO's dearly departed dad. This may have a bearing on getting such a cache published. It is very different than hiding a cache on someone else's dad's headstone.
  4. Did you actually read the OP? He differentiates between signature cards and business cards. Welcome to the hobby Desjardins4. Sig cards and a bunch of other items that fall into the category of signature items are always welcome. Business cards are not as well thought of but hey, it takes all kinds. I just ignore them. I'm not a big fan of cash as a trade item. Some folks use such occurrences as forgotten trade items to teach the lesson that you can't always have what you want. Either way you are not degrading the value of the cache with cash, and how you raise your kids is entirely up to you. Just adding food for thought here.
  5. no, i remembered pieces of some titles and managed to find them through a search, but i'm running low on memory But how is your computer doing?
  6. Weird. Have the topics you participated in been deleted?
  7. no i haven't, my point is that there is no way for me to track down through my profile the topics i replied on, same as you can see your posts in the forums if you look at your profile, and same as Get Satisfaction had Not sure why you don't see this. When I click on my user name where it says "signed in as GOF & Bacall" it shows a list of the topics I voted for and below that topics I've replied to.
  8. OK. Just down the road from me is one of many signs that read, "State Property. No Trespassing". Owned by does not equate to permission to use. I am reminded of a piece of property I used to drive past. It was a good hour to drive around it on my way from one town to another. Chain link fence the whole way. Every fifty feet was a sign that said "US Government Property. No Trespassing." The only place I saw a gate there was parking for fifty odd cars next to a building the size of one of the photo booths that used to be in every strip mall parking lot. You won't ever catch me caching there.
  9. It seems to be a local issue. That is why I said to contact locals.
  10. Also check with your local reviewer or a local geocaching association or club. They would have more information about local rules and laws that may affect your cache hiding.
  11. Twice I have found an unpublished cache while looking for a place to hide one. Once I found a final for a puzzle, again while looking for a place to hide a cache. And once I figured out the mystery final to a series of caches before the whole series of clue caches was released. I wasn't even FTF on that one as someone else did the same thing but had a more favorable work schedule than I did.
  12. heck no, i have 10 votes only i'm saving them for important ideas, or maybe i'll put them up for sale yeah, better spammer than me , maybe it just has to do with the fact that i don't wear socks Hey lady, Don't blame me! The numbers don't lie.
  13. Have you clicked on your user name at the top of the right hand column? i don't see my name in any column, its only above it as "Signed in as t4e" and when i click on it in Activity there's nothing, in Settings there's "Deliveries" options and woow i have a Karma of 12 That is where I meant. When I click on that I see a list of topics I have posted to or voted for. And I have no idea how the karma thing works. My number is 80 so it is obvious I am a better person than you.
  14. I prefer a cache with some sort of interesting reason for bringing me to a location. Lonely stretch of woods-interesting. Historical location-interesting. Scenic view-interesting. Walmart parking lot-not interesting. Dumpster behind the bowling alley-very not interesting.
  15. Please, don't set yourself some silly ratio of hides to finds. Hide when the the muse strikes. If you start hiding a cache because you feel you have to, even if that is do to a self imposed requirement, you will find yourself hiding caches that aren't up to your own personal best or standards. And I'm glad to hear you are enjoying our little bit of insanity.
  16. Have you clicked on your user name at the top of the right hand column?
  17. I am now going to start logging all the caches on North America.
  18. Lots of people log such caches that way. Or they just log on line after the FTF. But from my point of view it is silly. If you know where it is are you really finding it?
  19. Yup. This is a completely new cache. Start a new page from scratch.
  20. Is there a way to sort by recent replies?
  21. Can you elaborate? What plan? It's just one of the things that is "under consideration" over at GetSat.
  22. Sure, it's silly to worry about it. But it IS fun to discuss it, and poke a bit of fun at those who do it. I like Hoosier Guy's answer. Now that's funny.
  23. Hmmm, might get difficult to recognise people if they keep changing their user names. Can think of some reasons why some people might want to do that, especially if it is an easy process. And it is an easy process, finally got round to doing our change this morning and it was quite straight forward, finally lost the & and gained an and. Hopefully these forums will work properly for me now. But I suppose if folk want to change their identity regularly that's up to them. I wouldn't bet on it. Folks may find it easier to PM you though.
  24. You can use it to compile, maintain, and manipulate a database of caches from your PQs.
