  1. I guess I wasn't clear before (sorry!!). My intention was never to keep 2. My intention wasn't to sell or trade the 2nd one. I was going to gift it to a geocoin friend in another state. I did tell that to the Geocoin Fairy. That's why she/he said to hang on to it for a couple of weeks to see if my friend is lucky enough to find one on his own. I figure if he does find one in the next 2 weeks, I'll mail the coin to my sister in New Mexico and have her let it loose in a cache down there.
  2. After my little Geocoin Fairy geocoin faux pas, I emailed The Geocoin Fairy to ask how I should set this straight. I am posting his/her (anybody know?) reply with permission: Hello again Chris While my coins are intended to be one per geocacher and hopefully one per caching team, it was inevitable that someone got more than one eventually. I would tell you to just place it back into a cache for someone else to find, but I assume you traded items for the coins you picked up. So asking you to do that doesn't seem fair. Just keep the coin for now. Please do not sell it or trade it for personal gain. Watch my logs for the next several weeks and if the geocacher you planned to give it to doesn't find one of my coins, then go ahead and send it to him or her. All I ask is that it's given for free. These coins are gifts from me and I wouldn't be pleased seeing someone else profit from the good will and spirit this project was designed for. I am only getting started with my journeys and I still have many more coins to place and areas to visit! Thank you for contacting me. TGF
  3. Before everybody gets mad at me..... Let me just say that I got two of these coins today, not knowing this was a bad thing. Somebody contacted me tonight and let me know it was bad. I was going to send the 2nd one to a geocoin friend..... but now, I'm not sure what to do. I feel awful! I emailed The Geocoin Fairy and asked him/her what I should do. Don't hate me. I'll make this right.....
  4. I'd like one of each metal, please.
  5. Well, that is a GOOD question, as it turns out.... According to my XL spreadsheet, I have 861 keepers. According to CoinTracking, I have 874 keepers..... Looks like I need to figure out where the difference is.... I also have 19 that have been activated -- 18 of which are in the wild. I feel like I'm getting swamped with email lately on all 18 of those travelers....One of my coins is on its way to Alaska. Very cool....
  6. I like getting all the metals of coins that I like. I can't really put a finger on why. And I don't always succeed in getting them, but I like to try.
  7. I have a Luxemborg LE (gold) available. My trade list is at www.cointracking.com/public/chrisgun.
  8. I might attend. When I packed for GW4, I really debated on whether to bring my trader coins. I obviously wouldn't check them in as baggage, but is there a weight limit to carry-on on an airplane? And would I *want* to carry that much weight around with me? I would DEFINITELY not bring my Keepers. Way too heavy..... My husband suggested I get a small case on wheels to lug them around. I toyed with that idea, but decided against it. I might feel differently if the event was coin specific...
  9. If this topic had been put in another area, I never would have seen it. And I'd love to hear why people in the geocoin world call themselves what they do... I've been told my geonick is lame. I used to work at Microsoft, and they gave me the alias "chrisgun" because my name is Chris Gunnerson. At MS (I am not there any longer), we actually called each other by our nick, so I really tended to identify with mine. If chrisgun had already been taken in the geocaching world, I wonder what I would have called myself....
  10. They're darling!! I need one!!! Or two
  11. I'm on the hunt for a Route66 nickel. Is this a standard or an LE? Somehow I totally missed getting one.... My trade list is on www.cointracking.com/public/chrisgun. Thanks in advance for any help getting one
  12. I only collect round coins, but I may have to make an exception in this case. That's quite a cool coin. Can't wait to see it in my hand
  13. Could somebody please send me the link? I've had not one, not two, but three trades go very badly. I've even sent a hand-written letter via snail mail to the woman who didn't send me her end of the trade. And still nothing.... and the guy in Germany who won't send me his LE as promised keeps saying, "I'll send it right now." whenever I send him a reminder, but so far no coin.... I'd really like to out these people.... My intention being to warn others to avoid a bad trade with them....
  14. I have an extra silver Jeep'en Jumpers. It has been activated by Jeep'en Jumpers but was traded to me by him. I am looking to trade it for a Jeep'en Jumpers gold.
  15. Send me your address and I'll put one in the mail to you.
  16. 1. The GreenMan 2. Rupert2 gold 3. Rey del Roble silver
  17. Interested in trades for personal coins?
  18. I spoke with Aaron of CoinsAndPins at the Shop99er event a month or so ago. I told him that he really should make a gold version of the 2006 Compass Rose, cuz I have one of the gold prototypes and it's just lovely. He told me he was thinking of doing that sometime soon. Stay tuned....
  19. I think this is a fantastic idea. I wish I lived somewhere where I could participate in this. I look forward to visiting these caches someday.....and learning a bit about our history.....
  20. The Gold Compass Rose to my knowledge was a production sample only and was never minted. I would hope with the success of the Silver version C&P would consider minting the gold one this year. But for now, it doesn't exist. I spoke with the Coins & Pins guy (I can't remember his name) at an event a few weeks ago. He said he will probably be making a gold version of the Compass Rose sometime soon.
  21. I had something similar happen when I had my coins made. I ordered 200 gold, 75 antique copper (LE), 25 antique nickel (XLE), and 1 silver (mine). I bought 500 tracking numbers, and to make sure there was no mistake, I only gave the minter 301 numbers to put on the coins. When I received the coins, there were 25 extra antique nickel coins. They had run out of tracking numbers, so the space for the tracking number was blank. I decided I needed to honor my statement about only having 25 of these out in the world, so I chose to give the blank 25 coins away as gifts or drop into caches. I think you should do something to your new 250 coins to make them different from the first batch. Mark them, drill them, add to the tracking number in some way, remove the tracking number, etc. Just something to make them unique, even if it's a tiny little thing. And where do I sign up to get a 2006 Cornerstone? :0)
  22. I've still got 4 Denmarks available to trade. My coin list is on CoinTracking.com/public/chrisgun
  23. I'd like 2. Is this the pre-order thread or just checking interest?
