  1. I've been out of the forums for a few months..... And just recently started trading geocoins again..... Today I received two mailers. Opened the first one, and it was a coin I was expecting..... Opened the second one, and didn't recognize the coin. Looked at the From address, and it was me. Wait.... Oooooh, it must be a Mystery coin. Cool!! Thanks to the wonderful cacher who designed this (it's beautiful!!) and chose to send me one. I really appreciate it. Makes me feel good to be back among the geocoin people -- where I belong
  2. Nice!! I'd like one of each metal, please!!!
  3. Howdy, all..... I'm desperately seeking a silver 2008 Alaska coinament. I missed the sale, due to my kitting being at the ER vet. Does anybody have one they'd be willing to sell or trade? My trade list is at www.cointracking.com/public/chrisgun (kitty now has a feeding tube for 2 to 6 weeks -- but she's expected to make it). Chrisgun
  4. Howdy, all... My husband and I spent most of yesterday at the emergency vet with Nutmeg, my avatar kitty. Looks like she has a "fatty liver" and is still in ICU today. Bottom line is that I missed the sale. Is there anybody out there who bought an extra silver Alaska coinament and would sell or trade it to me? I would be forever grateful....... Chrisgun
  5. If somebody tells me (wow, can you believe I am a Software Test Engineer and can't figure this out???) how to post a valid URL, I will post a photo of the other side.
  6. I bought this a while back and haven't seen it on either coin site..... Can anybody tell me what it's called? Thanks in advance.... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/upload.aspx?LID=55960449 Chrisgun
  7. Howdy.... I finally have a second to do an inventory of my coins.... and discovered that I haven't received the Dutch 2008 yet. I don't know if I ordered it or traded for it, but I can't find the email containing the details. Can anybody tell me who to contact to ask about this coin? Thanks!! Chrisgun
  8. Please keep me in mind for a trade when they're available.
  9. I've been so focused on my two terminally ill kitties that I wasn't aware of this coin, or this thread. Yesterday, I had to put one of my kitties (Belle) down. I cried all day.... I came home to find a Peace coin in my mailbox. It's message and it's picture made me cry all the more.... It could not have come at a nicer time, and it's beautiful..... Thank you for the wonderful, beautiful gift.
  10. 1. Are you a Geocoin Metal Collector? Yes, definitely.... any chance I get to collect every metal of a given coin, I go for it. 2. Do you think it is Selfish to seek all of the Metals of your Favorites? Selfish? Not at all. Everybody has a fair chance at all coins, all metals. 3. What is your Favorite Metal Type? Black nickel (especially if it has gold on it)
  11. Tschakko is coming to town from Germany. I was too late in planning to get this made into an event cache.... but am trying to spread the word... Let's get together for some BBQ and let him meet some locals. Swap some TBs, geocoins, and share some interesting local caches. I'd love to trade some coins!! Monday June 30th, 6:00pm Teddy Bear's BBQ 15505 Main St NE Duvall, WA 98019 N47 44.409 W121 59.176 Hope to see you there! Chrisgun
  12. As long as you log the coin in and out when you find it/drop it, there's no need to post your find to the forums. Welcome to the fun side of caching
  13. I would love to be the FTR this cache/TB because my GPS died yesterday and after spending so much money on my two kitties getting chemo, I can't really afford a new one
  14. I'm in the Seattle area. I'd love to take you around to some caches.... Or I could arrange dinner with a few locals.... Give me a shout and let me know what you'd like to do....
  15. Sorry to hear about your doggie's knee injury...... I was unable to attend GW6 this year due to 2 of my cats having terminal cancer. One of them has been in ICU 3 times with pneumonia, and I have to give her pills twice a day... At least she's still with us.... These photos (and I hope I get the links in okay) were taken up in Kamloops, BC. My hubby and I were out caching on quads (ATVs). I found a turtle in the middle of the road, and decided to move it to safety.... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...bf-2e38f8286fbc http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...2f-192be4586b13
  16. I'd love to trade for one, if somebody could contact me....
  17. I went caching with an old friend of mine a while back..... We had each run our own queries, so we had slightly different caches loaded in our GPS'es.... At one point, we arrived at a teeny tiny park in a neighborhood. I didn't have the coords, so we got out of the car, walked into the park, and were only swapping coords, when a man walked toward us from across the street. "What are you two looking for?" he asked. Imagine deer in the headlights..... Honestly, we weren't looking for ANYthing. I was just punching numbers into my GPS. So, in as innocent a voice as I could muster, I asked, "Why do you ask?" He told me that people come to this park all the time -- LOTS of people. At first, he and his wife saw a bunch of people pile out of a van with gadgets like the two of us were holding... They figured somebody was finally going to make improvements to the park. But then they drove off, never to be seen again. A few days later, another bunch of people stopped by. His wife had told him "There are those people again." and he insisted that they were different people. They started to wonder if somebody had lost something. It must be VALUABLE for this many people to be looking for it. With a smile on my face, I asked where the people end up looking, and he pointed directly to the cache. We grabbed it and explained geocaching. He got a big laugh out of it...
  18. I have wondered this so often, that when I saw the question in the forums, I had to get out the scale... I thought about carrying my coins up to the bathroom, but ugh, they're so heavy! So, I brought the scale down to my office..... I weighed them in the binders, but I'm sure that only adds about a pound, if that. My husband walked in as I stepped on the scale holding 2 binders of coins. He saw the number and said, "How much of that weight is coins???" It was rather high A drumroll please.......... My collection weights 216 pounds!!!
  19. I'm still here... and I actually post now and then..... Been having a rough year. Two of my kitties have cancer, both are in chemo. One is probably going to have to be put down this morning. It's hard to read the forums through all of these tears.... But I still trade, still buy (tried quitting, but fell off the wagon), and was out caching in Portland, OR just yesterday.... Had to come home early when the ER vet called to tell me to get my butt home asap.
  20. G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!!!!!!! Totally beautiful :0) I need some!!!!!!
  21. Is it possible to de-activate a coin that I own? If so, how? Thanks in advance!
  22. 1. What is your name (caching name is fine), location, age, and occupation. My name is Chris, and I live in Duvall, Washington, USA.... I'll be 41 on Sunday (yes, Easter!)... I'm a Software Test Engineer at Microsoft, currently working in digital graphics. 2. What was the first geocoin you ever held in your hand? I can't remember the first one I found in the wild. But the first one I ever owned was an EU. I carried it around in my pocket and looked at it several times a day -- for 2 weeks. 3. Approximately how many coins to you currently own? Approximately 2100, give or take a hundred. All are unactivated. 4. Approximately how many coins have you released into caches? And how many are still active? Guessing, I'd say 10 or 15, with only about 3 missing. 5. Have you ever minted a coin? If so - how many? Yes. My personal coin was made in the following numbers: - 200 gold - 75 antique copper (LE) - 25 antique nickel (XLE) - 1 solid silver with 24k gold leaf My version 2 coin is in design, minter picked, but I have too much going on in my life to get it finished. For now... 6. What is your favorite color? Purple. 7. What is your favorite food? Either a bacon & avocado sandwich, or halibut cheeks with homemade avocado sauce 8. What are some of your favorite songs/musicians/groups? Too many to name.... I like techno-pop, 80's music, classical, etc. 9. What hobbies do you do aside from caching and drooling over coins? I'm a decorative painter... I read LOTS and LOTS of fiction... Gardening.... My kitties (2 of whom currently have terminal cancer and are going through chemo
  23. Are you telling us that if we have a geocaching.com trackable coin.... and it's for TRADE rather than for SALE, we can't announce early?????? Did I go against Groundspeak's policy by announcing early?? I really would have burst. No doubt about it....
  24. I remember when I submitted my Chrisgun v1 geocoin plans to a minter.... and got a date for when they'd be ready. They were only for trade, so I wasn't trying to get a feel for interest, and I wasn't hoping for people to add my coin to their budget. I was just so darn excited to be able to share it with everybody.... that I posted as early as I could. I probably would have burst if I hadn't told everybody in the forums about it. None of my friends understand my obsession...er, condition... hm... my passion.....
  25. Wonderful coin! I love owls...... I'd love to buy (and trade for the LE) a set..... Please keep me in mind.... Chris
